It came with innocence,
and kindled to flame.
A fire of elation
ecstasy
desire
that calmed my soul
in blessed sin.
unaware I stand,
open and unsuspecting—
expecting nothing.
nothing known, to guard against
loving blissful ignorance

for the simplicity
of childhood;
before innocence rubs off
