Invader of flesh, bone, and blood
                  Rudely invites itself in
To wreak harrowing havoc.
                  No ringing of doorbell;
Not so much as a knock -
                 Cancer

Innocence
A child of eyes of the
bluest skies, so pure
and innocent. I often
wonder was that me in
the beginning?

Innocence gets lost,
knowledge becomes the
invader, an intruder of evil
wicked ways.

They say that
knowledge is power, yet its a
tower of poor foundations.
We are not our own creations,
our souls require some serious
restoration....

THE FIRST SNOW

something ringing in my ear,
startling me to reality.
Reaching over, I touch the invader,
to quiet death it ceased.

Slowly rising from my bed,
looking out the nearby window.
The first snow fell today,
and I weary of my custom
turned to face the wrinkled
covers, falling, rolling, over
and over, encased in its warmth again....

Listen to poem:
Just when we thought
wars were well and truly over,
done and dusted -
Russia invades Ukraine.
No mettle for friends
to take up arms.
to don the coat of arms
and fight tooth and nail
to quell the invader.
Instead its alms that are offered
and sanctions to starve and demean
the invader's will to fight.
It's a new World Order
at arm's length....

Door Without a Latch
It's no true door without a latch,
After closure,still easy catch:
Robber to one's helpless things snatch;
A firm structure turns a bad thatch
And up with things one starts to patch!

It's no Good Gate which lacks a latch:
Could never an invader match,
Who'd across it march with his batch...

Woe to a door met as a batch,
Which carpentry needed a latch:
The Devil's plot agent shall hatch....

Silver Bird
The silver bird streaked across the sky
The thunder and tremor its signature

The search for the invader is on
They had to bring out the big bird

They witnessed the search across the sky
The aerial search which dragged all day long

They spoke in hushes about the invader
They were glad the search turned blank

They couldn't fathom an enemy among-st them
They were relieved that the enemy was long gone...

Thunder
Thunder

Nightly crashing thunder
Blundering through the streams of my sleep
Lifting me from the valley of my dreams
Plunderer of my sleeptime
Invader of my dreams
Destroyer of my nightly slumber

From behind the closed blinds of my eyelids
The lightning demands to be seen
The rain on my rooftop insists on being heard

This family of rowdy bullies, absorbing my
night into their play
I do wish they’d go away...

“Don’t-stand-so-close-to-me,” he said to her. I’m feeling claustrophobic. Every time I turn around, you’re right there at my shoulder. Were you a poem, I’d make you its end rhyme! “How rude you are!” his girlfriend then replied. “The way you talk to me is a disgrace. We’re finished!” As she strode away she cried, “And this is me now giving you your space.” For Black Eyed Susan's Space Contest

Limericks On Things I Find Funny
there was a young lad name of squee
whose friend was a teddy named shmee
his neighbor crazy
his mother was hazy
his father just hated that squee

there was a man named jhonny c.
who went on a murderous spree
he often spoke scary
and felt he should carry
the burden of befriending squee

zim is an "invader" from irk
whose completely obsessed with his work
he also is crazy
his robot is CRAZY
i'm happy it's back on t.v.

Blame Is Not a Cure
in a storm of Uncertainty
haunting signs of conspiracy
rise from the stands
whisper from the sands
papers mailed to hands
invasion of many lands
an invisible enemy
crosses land and sea
an invader from inner space
arms from a hidden face
attach to the human race
technology stares into outer space
to find an alien life-form trace
while fingers point to a hidden room
with white coats that weave their genetic loom
still life is lost way too soon...

Soldiers of the South
These American warriors wore the gray.
They were the most courageous soldiers of their day.
Their great struggle lasted four long years.
They paid a high price in blood, sweat, and tears.
These men pledged allegiance to their sovereign state.
A northern invader was one they would hate.
Near the end, their numbers and supplies were depleted.
The warriors felt humiliated and defeated.
However, their spirit had never gone away.
We remember those who sacrificed to this day....

I Am Leaving
~~~~~i am leaving~~~~~
           i am leaving
           running fast
           here comes
           the invader
           of nostalgia
           they've no
           want for bliss
           their thoughts
           and reasons
           had no poetry
           their appetite
           is for restive
           their fulfilment
           is you siding
           their opinion
           so I am leaving
           running so fast
