Ingenue - Pleiades

Innocent, fresh-faced girl,
iris blooming in spring -
illuminated soft
in dawn’s honey-spooned glow.
Impressionable soul
inspired by worlds unknown,
I, too, was once like you.

Terrible Advice

Young me took this to heart:
“Love many,
Trust few,
And always paddle
your own canoe”

Now I paddle my canoe
In icy waters
Far from my youth
and my many lovers
not one of whom
I trusted.

Childhood

Chaste and pure the thoughts
Moved by awe and curiosity
Cherishing the gifts of life
An impressionable blank slate

Seduction

Glitter, glisten 'neath
still waters running deep;
she attracts the unsuspecting,
lures the impressionable to their doom.

Slick and quick you never see her coming,
her subtle magic permeates your soul
and you're imprisoned, you've
relinquished your control.

Be a Mentor

a lone fallen leaf

on the pavement

Insecure and impressionable

the wind carries it in all directions

many young people are like this fallen leaf

insecure impressionable and in need of direction

brothers sisters step up and be counted as mentor

Children

Children can be a handful
They can even cause you grief
Children are innocent and beautiful
Let's show them the world is too
Children are impressionable
 So careful what you teach
For these children I speak of
Are the caretakers of you and me
Children are the future
 Don't you see
So I warn you
 Careful what you preach

Only Dreams

How quickly youth vanishes
The innocence of time
Chaste and pure the thoughts
Moved by awe and curiosity
Cherishing the gifts of life
A most impressionable blank slate
Virtue integrity morality
Only dreams...

A Diamond In Your Eyes

I am a diamond in your eyes,
My sweet impressionable child.
I must keep my purity and strength
That you be not defiled.

I watch my ways, I watch my words.
I do not spare the praise
When you have listened to my words
And have followed in my ways.

My God has put you in my care
And trusted I'd be wise
And worthy of the honor as
A diamond in your eyes.

Dream Weaver

Phantasmal mysterious spectator
lingers between reality and dreams.
Waiting, weaving spectacular wishes
from our hearts chambers of solitude.

Fabricated images in complicated braids
creating rainbow crossings of tempered color.
Whisking sand matted eyes into designed visions
dancing on clouds of impressionable illusions.

As inner hallucinations castle bridge is drawn silently...

Scummy Gummy Bears

"How about it daddy,"
show me the way,
how you roll that paper,
you make it slay.

"How about it daddy,"
you smell so funny,
is that the reason,
you look so crummy?

"How about it daddy,"
you sleep all day,
you seem so grumpy,
I think you should pray.

"How about it daddy,"
Is it true what mommy say,
that you love smoking,
more than you love yahwey.

Epic Variable

It is all up for interpretation really.

Such as I am a single variable but nowhere near alone.

I am quite impressionable and find myself opinionated in a bullheaded sort of way.

At the beginning of my journey with so much more to learn,
looking back on how far I have come and what truths I know to exist.

Whatever impression you have gathered, I am simply my own person different from the rest.

I am an epic variable!

Danger Is the Colour

The colour red makes you stop
thinking what can be wrong
it makes you hit the brake
as the tailback is so long

Red fills the heart in alarm
makes you think to fear
the conscience sets you off
your moral code gets in gear

A picture filled in red
gets your eye being so bright
holds your full attention
an artists impressionable sight

This colour speaks only a part
involves traffic, emotions and art
for they all effect your heart

Dangerous Love

You wanted someone strong; you wanted someone who wouldn’t crack. You thought you were making me tough by breaking me down. You told yourself it was the only way, because I wasn’t the boy you wanted.
No
I was a girl, your first born. I was delicate, young, and very impressionable. I grew numb to the pain I became accustom to.
You succeeded. You made me into someone the world couldn’t shatter, because you can’t break something that’s already in pieces.

The End of the Trail

Upon a wall out in the west,
A print hung nailed to adobe.
A beaten Indian warrior hangs his head
On his horse on a cliff so sadly.

His braid disheveled, a tear I think,
A memory upon an impressionable child.
I can still feel with my little girl's heart,
When I recall "The End of the Trail."

Now that little girl is nearing that end,
Her battles not the same, but done.
With the hope she’ll meet that Indian again,
With his head high, his war now won.

Loneliness Lives Next Door

We learned about lonely people
At a tender impressionable age

Our neighbour was sixty or so
A widower leading a quiet life

Grand-father figure to us kids
We’d drop by visit the odd afternoon

It was dark and lacked life or joy
His little house felt smoky and cloistered

He taught us how to play cribbage
First sips of beer, cigarettes, silver coins

He seemed so painfully lonely
In his little house smoky and cloistered

S I M U L T a N E O U S L Y

you want clarity
but I want you to handle this female energy that I bring
terrify me, petrify me
crucify me, purify me

but only if I could wait for you - I would
I swear, as sure as heaven resides on Earth, I would
I cruise through your male energy
so smooth
and just barely impressionable
but I lose emotion
and control

and then I escape

it's me
it's me
it's me
it's me

terrify me, petrify me
crucify me, purify me

An Apology

To every woman and girl
That I have called pretty
Before anything else,
I am sorry

Women are the hearths of life
And I am sorry to have not
Shown my awe at your strength
Before your beauty

Girls are impressionable and
I’m sorry I didn’t ask you
Your talents before I saw
Your [girlish] beauty

I’m sorry that “beautiful”
Came first, instead of
Talented
Strong
Important
Loved
Willful

Because all women, and
Al girls:
You deserve more
Because you are more

Advertisers Know Us

we are impressionable at a young age, each male and miss
tv advertisements and magazine advertisers know this
they show us what to dream of, things we want to buy
experiment with our minds, so we have to do or die

I personally like chocolate candy the best of all the sweets
but after seeing this lifesaver ad, I feel without them I’m not complete
so I run to the store, and buy them and of course they are a delight
tv will probably decide what else I will dream about this October night
