A Punch In the Belly
An ice storm can be really deadly
Drive with care and try not to get edgy
Just glide along
What could go wrong
Death could await and that's not funny...

Ice
The iceman was coming, t’was ice that I smelt
Another ice storm, was about to be dealt
More ice to be salted
And more ice to melt
I’m no fan of ice, and that’s how I felt....

Meeting Cancelled At Last Second
Cancel email came after work
So of course three of us missed it
Other nine stayed off the ice
Comfy in their jammies
Eating sweet warm toast
Watching TV
Annoying
Us Three
Lots...

Historic Ice Storm
An ice storm to end all ice storms just hit us big time
Like riding a motorized sleigh spinning round on a dime
Swallowed my dentures
A totally wild adventure
What in hell am I thinking, I'm still in my prime?
Huh! ...

1500 Crashes
Over 1500 crashes in Toronto alone, the ice storm of the century
People who challenged the conditions soon realized the treachery
Better to call in sick with the flu
Than risk a broken bone or two
The smart ones can still walk and still able to watch Jeopardy...

Diamonds In the Trees
The icicles were like fine crystal
hanging from the trees
the ice storm was nasty
but left such beauty
icicles were lethal stalactites
hanging passively
from on high
the icicles warmed by the sun
began to melt
then started their journey to earth
Falling like missiles without a target...

Ice Storm - Haiku
Crystal branches crack,
a sharp wintry orchestra,
flowing through the air.
Light cascades on snow,
diamonds falling from the sky,
meet the shining earth.
Icicles hanging,
precariously balanced,
show beauties danger.
The winter ice storm,
in all her harshness and rage,
has shown her beauty....

Shopping Cart Man
~Ice storm~
Pine boughs laying arms of jade on the ground
powerlines swinging like summer jump ropes
the avenues are littered with dirty diamonds
crystal sun harboring a warming wreath of hope.
Windchimes lie silent and lightly sweetened
a cardinal morphing into blown glass flame
his rubied beakon will mostly go unheeded
say for the ferals and a shopping cart man....

Hot Chocolate Thoughts
?
She was lost in an ice storm
But sheltered in a lovely plaid, form.
That new, thick, wool coat,
Warmed her like a castle moat.
Her Mother finally came!
She stared, melting out the car’s window
Frosted pane.
Soon to have, hot chocolate, in her favorite
steaming cup.
A desirable treat, that would warm
any girl’s heart up!

Long Cold Night
Shadows splinter unseen.
An ice storm grinds down nightmares
into black and white chips.
Morning comes as a frozen lamb,
as toothpaste frothing over
a startled mirror,
as a yeti caught on a trail camara.
"Did you hear the ice last night?"
Her lips are still dreaming.
She turns to the frost painted window.
The kettle is whistling
pushing steam into our nocturnal shivers....

Boob's Tube
My TV quit today
God saw fit to take it away
Big ol ice storm came along
Knocked that boob tube
Off his throne.
Cable company doesn't care
They think I can just sit and stare
At a blank screen with no sound.
People I'm not kidd'n round
My way of life has run aground.
No TV Land no Disney too
No Food Network with all the food.
People won't you hear my plea
Give my TV back to me....

Bitter Chill -Ballad Stanza-
A bitter chill flows through the air
snow from Sunday is on the ground
I'm in the house and I don't care
minus thirty can linger 'round.

Jan.6/2015
It's minus thirty outside today with the wind chill. I haven't found it this cold since the ice storm from last Winter. I'm hoping it's going to warm up, but the rest of the week is going to be cold too....

Crystal Kingdom
Crystal kingdom shining bright
holding vigil through the night.
Crystal province over dale
beyond the wide sunny vale.
Crystal armies command the eve
sentinels to all they cleave.
Crystal empire glinted glare
icy soldiers stop and stare.
Crystal forces hold the line
sunshine coming soon to shine.
Crystal troops retreating gone
vanquished by the wintry dawn.

Blue Spruce -- 2
I remember the ice storm
His extension cord, my warmth
I cried as fellow trees died
FOREVER, His Liege
As the whisper of the Wind
I have spoke with HIM often
Feeling his Sorrow and Pain
A Heart, torn apart
We have grown old Gracefully
Now and then he speaks to be
Says I’m a Beautiful Tree
Sweet Words, Come to me
