Fed Up
Congress claims Donald Trump is psychotic
Yet we all must remain patriotic
To work everyday
Without any pay
Makes my landlord and grocer neurotic!...

Grocer's Store
A journey to the past,
For a weekly shop to last,
The grocer knew everyone,
When the baby boomers had begun,
We might get some biscuits broken,
Or an ice block, as a token,
Our olds did it on 2 quid per week,
Better times than this, they did seek....

Premium Member Living With Nature
The North American People
Lived in a natural way.
Their wastes were all compostables;
Would return to the earth one day.

Fish fertilizer fed their crops,
No additives in their food.
Nature was pharmacy, grocer and home.
And living was healthy and good....

Michael Latido has quite a history.
He is considered a medical mystery.
The razor blades, nuts and bolts.
Eaten by him and other dolts.
Are nothing, compared to namely,
His eating a grocer cart, bicycle
and claim to fame, doing away inanely...
With a complete Cessna airplane

Supermarkets stay open
   The corner grocer can't
His plans, hopes and dreams
   All crushed like an ant's

Big box retail has income from selling its wares
As the little guy quietly tears out his hair
His door must stay closed; those are the rules --
of free enterprise in the land of the cruel...

Her name, translated,
was Passion Flower,
and at twenty-one
she knew a thing or two

Passionately in love
with a grocer boy
with looks,
she adored him

He had no money,
but what they did on
Passion Sunday
set her up for life

I went to the grocer
To buy her some food
But she turned her nose up
Seems nothing looked good

I went to the butcher
To buy her some steak
But she insisted
‘Twas all beyond fake

I drove through the drive-through
To get her a bite
The fries were too greasy
And didn’t taste right

So I took her home
At a loss, in defeat
Found her at the litter box
Eating cat treats...

Each morning birds chatter and wake me from sleep
In avian society talk is cheep

The grocer still smiles at the family
Passing by his counter, owl-eyed at the
Fresh food display,
Shot down in the streets defending freedom,
While shareholders measure outcomes.
In the forest, a doe watches her fawn nibble
Plant growth-
O Holy God, save our souls!
Soldiers march in protest-
Lance the lies! walk the tallgrass,
Finding peace-

           Finding

                   Peace

Have grocery stores become delivery systems?
Bearing insidious alterations in organ function?
I asked my local grocer-
"Please show me the labelling of GMO products you carry"
His reply-
"I'm not responsible for the content you consume"
My reply-
"Fair enough, who is"
His reply-
"Way above my pay grade, buddy"
My reply-
"Then your response is...buyer beware?"
His reply-
"Your words, not mine"
From that moment I decided, food

....is the new wild west...

Samples
Ever since the dawn
We seek to sample.
As little ones, we sample
Wood. How does it taste?
Friends. How shall we play.
School.
Work.
Love.
We grow fat sampling at the grocer on a Sunday afternoon.
We dress up to sample the treats given instead of tricks.
We vacation to sample luxurious retirement.
We raise children to share in samples of their youth.
And every night
Every nap
Every sleep
We sample death, and upon awakening...
Rebirth....

Premium Member A Christmas Memory
A Christmas memory
By Curtis Johnson

To this small community, my wife and I had come in 1974 to pioneer a church.
Our resources were meager, but we wanted to touch the lives of about 50 families.
Contacting a generous grocer, we secured a discount of a vital product for any home.
On Christmas morning, we gave small packs of washing detergent to delighted families.

Lettuce
The leaves weren’t wilted I see
A head of lettuce light green crispy
And I had checked finances to boot
I was confident I could cover the loot

The green grocer was standing tall
He had tracked down the lettuces all
But there had been a price
Not raised once twice but thrice

Who would have thought last year
That lettuce would be bought with tears
And I wonder what the bank manager thinks
Having to mortgage for vegetables stinks!
