Free Enterprise

Supermarkets stay open
   The corner grocer can't
His plans, hopes and dreams
   All crushed like an ant's

Big box retail has income from selling its wares
As the little guy quietly tears out his hair
His door must stay closed; those are the rules --
of free enterprise in the land of the cruel

This has become the trend throughout the world. I heard on TV last night that millions will die of starvation Biblical numbers have been predicted! Great write Gershon, Blessings, Jennifer.

Biblical numbers - no problem. Populations were so much smaller then... Biblical percentages -- look out! Keep the Faith, Gershon

Such empathy on the part of those corner grocers over there. Not too funny really, but they want to stay in business...

So much for the land of the free. I feel for the small business people. Let's hope this ends soon enough for them to salvage their business's. Stay frosty my friend.

Yes. Small business seems to be government's favorite whipping boy when times are tough. Thanks, David.

Oh, oh, oh - I want a good mood and you went 'there', bummer for me that this is a good write. (Personally, I think all retail should bow to Walmart who will be first on the moon.) I miss Mom and Pop stores, the kind people lived over. Take care and write something to cheer me up - oh, maybe Jan posted a limerick! CayCay

CayCay, can you ever forgive me for letting you down so?! I sure hope so, as the old man (me) still has a couple or three (hundred) limericks in hiim somewhere... Now where did I put my loony muse? … ~ Senile Citizen (lol). ~ gw

Well said Gershon, same problem here, our governments interpretation of essential shops beggars belief. DIY stores open and then they tell you not to do D. I. Y. In case you injure yourself and need a hospital bed. You couldn't make it up. Hope you're well. Tom

ADD became ADHD... Do-it-yourself (Diy) became DDIY, Don't Do It Yourself! Ha, ha. Sounds like Ripley's Believe It or Not! Thanks, Tom
