Okie Bar-B-Que
An okie's love our bar-b-que.
              Grilling is an okie's fav..
We bake it and serve it to.
               That great smoky taste.
                  Coleslaw and rolls.
                    Best in town.
                       Tasty!

My Awesome Summer
My family and I are in the airport,
Away from the land Laporte,
My brothers are swimming,
My dad is grilling,
Sitting around a campfire,
I am sitting in a swing with a tire,
This is my summer,
Its definitly not a bummer,
Whats your summer like?
Do you ride your bike?
Dont be a bummer,
Enjoy this summer!!

Sweet spicy sounds rich rhymes reap round,
Freeze fear's face found grab grilling grounds.

Stillness spreads sure meeting moist moods,
Pique profound pure glimpses gain good.

Sweet sanctuary where wonder wills,
Love's library feels flotsam fill.

In My Closet
Hiding in a cave
Just for the rave
Not to be pave
To become Dave

I look up to the will
Searching up for pill
A remedy to my grill
Grilling me to drill

Hopping here and there
Just for me to be here
A search for a green pasture
Mopping up to dare

But no coverage
To fully outrage
Now that I am cage
On the side of my page

I jumped off to scream
Out of my dream
I got no ice to cream
What a dream, in my closet...

A Moment In the Garden
A robin thankful for my work
Pecks every clod of fresh
turned dirt
A dove call permeates the air
With tones of throaty sad
despair

The sun sits fat above the bay
Engaged in light and shadow
play
Scrub pines rustle in a gentle
breeze
As if shaking off the winter
freeze

Daffodils, tulips enjoying the
sun
Are living proof that Spring has
sprung
A moment in time to relax and
stare
As charcoal grilling scents the
air...

Dear Snickers, Incorporated:

FUN SIZE,
magically re-appearing each late September,
when compared to more everyday Thanksgiving size,
should be nearly endless,
as leisurely,
lavish,
and luxurious as melting summer vacation chocolate
on a warm Fourth of July grilling day

FUN SIZE
should not be short
and square
and spare
like a stink bug

FUN SIZE
needs to be long and wide and thick
as a ridiculous dil**.

With gratitude,

Size Queen Snickers...

Rhyming Poem
I can't wait to come home everyday
I don't know what else I can say
School is just not for me
My friends and I leave so we can go on a shopping spree

When I get home I lay in my bed
I throw on a blanket and I rest my head
My mom walks in the door for me to greet
And my dad is outside, grilling some meat

We sit around the table and talk
Then we go and take my dog on a walk
I guess it's time to go to bed then
So I can get my sleep and start all over again...

Grilling
I tried to do some grilling
But the sky just opened up
And it rained like Noah’s time
Each raindrop filled a cup

I’m using here hyperbole
To make a point of rain
The grilling of the burgers
Could not even begin

So I used an indoor griddle
To heat the burgers through
It wasn’t quite that bad at all
I was trying something new

I think they were less healthy
Since they sat in their own grease
Where the grill would let it drizzle down
And all that’s left was meat!...
