Hidden behind the hindu golden statues of gods.
Screaming for help, some people came to help them, 
One dog caught one gold digger and bitten her bottom

WAR-TIME MEMORY

During air-raids in London, we would huddle under the stairs, Mother, Brother and I. Minimal protection against a direct hit, but something. I would feel Mother flinch when one landed nearby. But not me. My worry was spiders.

I wake to the soft sounds of rain tapping my window.
For several days hovering clouds have stolen the sun,
And I am thinking they portend sorrow lying ahead.
I hear a robin singing, so rare when the sky is gray,
