~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In Blarney there’s one magic stone. When you kiss it, you’re put in ‘the zone.’ You’ll soon gab with words so glib. Matters not if truth or fib. With a stout Guinness, one must atone.
Faceless, dusty windows quickly by a noisy, rainy jackhammer;
Gab calmly like dusty rain;
Cloudy it gets, moist rain falling wet;
Dip, dip, dip, drop the steamy rain;
as the cat inside meows, grrr's and banters;
Premium Member The Gift of Blab
I might drive you crazy and that's for sure, so please don't come
a knocking at my back door.
Serve me brewed coffee and soon you will see a wired Chatty Cathy.
If you really want to be cruel slip me a can of Red Bull.
Many moon ago when I learned how to walk, unfortunate for some,
I learned how to talk.
The irish call this the gift of gab, to others its just blab, blab, blab....
Premium Member saying nothing
What do those old hens have to gab about?
This hiss in the barnyard came out as a pout.
They are roosters, I replied, looking about.
Saying nothing, said the snake, no doubt.
It must be something, they are animated I said.
The snake rolled his green eyes back into his head.
We are speaking too, but saying nothing, right?
I could not argue with this logic, on this Halloween night....
PUSSY WILLOWS LIVE IN OUR HEARTS The catkins, silver flamed, light up each branch. I choose a bunch to brighten up a room, to celebrate this Dingus Day of Spring. We gobble gab, with pierogies on hand, and sip our wine, and beer. We lift, we cheer - To life! Then bow our heads for those we mourn. 6/8/2107 In memory of my uncle and cousin
But I’ll refrain, she said to me.
I have my doubts, will wait and see.
She’s broken silence in the past;
her gossiping is unsurpassed,
the queen of gab in royal reign,
but I’ll refrain.
See, I’m not one to talk about,
to cast aspersions, or bring doubt,
or I might be inclined to say
her tongue is loose and it won’t stay,
but I’ll refrain.
Few and far between doggerel delights
Google gets it with sesquipedalian surprise
Forgive and forget gift of the gab
The sweet spot isn't always wizardry with words
So vis-a-vis what's tried and true
Is sharing something that's unique to you
Cookie cutters have never moved mountains
The Blarney Stone
The Blarney Stone
It was a bucket list I had to fill
I puckered up and felt the chill
The stone was cold upon my lips
The ledge was hard beneath my hips
Within my head a bell had rung
And words were forming on my tongue
Stories for the young and old
Simply waiting to be told
A scrap of paper and a pen
I jot a line down now and then
In hopes someday someone will read
The gift of gab?  A gift indeed...
Tiefe Stille
Tiefe Stille
Die Seele schluepfte in die Nacht.
Ihr wurde Zuflucht gewaehrt,
von einer hoeheren Macht.
Da gab es keine Banners, keine Paraden,
nur vollkommener Frieden
und die Gewissheit,
das Gott ist.
Sacred Silence
Soul escaped into the night
granted sanctuary
in the quiet essence
of indwelling spirit.
There were no banners or parades,
just total peace
and the firm assurance
that God exists...
Love Poems Great Talkers
Great Talkers
Those blessed with the gift of the gab
Are really found without Love
As everything they say
To a prospective suitor
Sounds like a Love Poem
Designed and written especially for them
Until the smell of Roses wares off
And is replaced by the Manure
it is based in
And Isn't it Ironic
How ugly is Platonic
Beauty is Moronic
Talk and Love is Cheap
And No Buys Roses
For the Losers and the Lonely...
Priest a Sin and Transgressor Stressor
Priest Was a Sin and Transgressor Stressor
He is really quite an important impresser,
And priest has been a profound professor;
Episcopalian etiquette,
That can never quit;
In sermons sin and transgressor stressor.
Together with him will praise the Lord;
With voice endowed,
He can thrill a crowd,
And has gift to gab that we can afford.
her face
is strangely
beautiful.
Whispering to heaven
Tide, gently carry my whispers
Across the grey clouds that glitter
With a silvery silver lining.
Across the saturated linings fighting my flaming words,
Beyond the vultures sailing the skies
To the angels who receive them with smiles.
Gab! harness my words into meaning;
Let them be a symphony amidst the chaos that rings
From the screams of souls locked out of heaven_
From the bottomless pits where heathens
Together with my shame reside.
Forgive Me Lord
Forgive me Lord
The misuse
Of the gift of gab
And for the painful heart
That became cold by it
For lack of faith
And exaggerated vanity
When all this, more is not
Than lack of humility
Thank you Lord,
For another day
Being able to be on this earth
Although so full of evil
Enjoying the power of good health
And from my face´s sweat
Eat a decent piece
Of bread, tasteful
Have power to grub
The soil that one day
May host me
When the breath miss me...
Premium Member The Clothes Line
1955’s American woman ran outside in the mornings to talk.
With their neighbors. One or two of them might possibly squawk.
They would hang their laundry and gossip, laugh and gab.
Clothes line conversations the best therapy most ever had.
We kids tried to listen, but they would all shoo us away.
We were not privy to adult stuff back in the good old day.
I enjoyed hearing my mother laugh. It made me feel glad.
Unless she said something mean about my favorite person, Dad....
Imposter
I’m merely a novice
Trying to blend
Disguised as competence
They let me in
I squeezed past
The judges table
By talking fast
I seemed able
My gift of gab
Paved the way
Scored a cab
And bed to lay
Now I’m here
Out of place
Insincere
I hide my face
A humble ornament
Adorning corners
Fake and fraudulent
Along the borders
Don’t come to me
With eyes a’glow
In hopes to see
All that I know
I’m an imposter
A wanna be
So please don’t bother
Studying me...
They choose and ooze one-sided views
Which suffuse weak minds and confuse
Fair and balanced thwarted
Fox News is the ultimate ruse
Author's note: Someone at work puts this on in the gym all day.  The "reporters" are paid to gab about what matters from the very rich and selfish point of view.  It is a real freak show.  People I know who I thought were intelligent repeat the talking points with absolute belief.  Fortunately, a lot of people sense the charade....
