This is about a woman I knew from church. Her viewing was last week. She got dementia and spiraled downhill in about four years' time. She had been a journalist at one time. I am glad that she is now at peace.

Silent is she whose sharp mind unraveled; she died. This woman, friendly, loved to gab and laugh. Unsmiling in her casket now. . . her face is strangely beautiful. May 13. 2019 for the 'Charlieku New Form' Poetry contest of charles messina Poetry form description: The poem must be 15 lines long and the syllable count must be 23232,3232,323,23,3 Also, it must be 5 lines, 4 lines, 3 lines, 2 lines and 1 line.

So sorry to know of anyone who has to go thru this and I do, via Mom's residence and its many inhabitants. So sad. Your lines are perfectly fitting and touching. Love ... CayCay

Dementia steals them away before they actually get the relief of going home. It is so awful. You have made her passing sound rather sweet, somehow, Andrea.

My late Father passed in 2003 with Alzheimer's; it's a fatal disease, that is so much more than forgetting. I hope they find a cure soon. Well penned dedication to her.

You were able to elevate this form Andrea. The loss of loved ones who forget you is so tragic for all concerned. Beautifully written! : ) xxoo

My inquisitive mind failed to venture into this contest, but after reading, your conformity pans out with such an exquisite rendering, then reading the rules at the bottom, rendered me speechless--nay as my post does not reflect that thought, perchance dumbfounded is best, my best wishes on this one as well-charles is going to like it, Aloha wk
