My Block
Sirens and metro buses
Detectives and narcs
Hustlers and thieves.

Friends and foes
Currency and narcotics
Bums and dope fiends.

Soft or hard
Packaged or dumped
White or green.

Love and disdain
Loyalty and trust
Hope and shattered dreams

I solve crimes daily
From a brown Lazy-Girl-Recliner
Upstaging seasoned professionals
Solving cases that confuse and confound assigned detectives.

singing my praises,
expressing his admiration for my abilities.
Not realizing how many times I have seen each episode....

Detectives solving crimes
Flashing their badges

Modernity
...At the Shore, zoneyed
hyperspantechnic aerobes
seek treasurefiner-

metal detectives,
hopefilled, as high-tech fishmen
at Igloos of beer

ponder the dearth?, Nay!
of paille tressed, bespectacled
easy-easelers

at hungry palettes
and the sketchmasters who're
ignobly absent!

Premium Member New York (Iii)
Like two detectives in the night
We walk the glass slipper.
I have to remind myself I’m still learning.
To be alone is the soul’s paralysis.
Though in the solitude there is everything.
To be sad is ongoing, and important for life.
And to be free is the starving mind,
Growing and starving.
Step and Stares.
New York wares.
Eat me.
Lovely....

Premium Member Impossible Task of Jury
The jury’s duty is impossible.
They have to decide who is lying.
The defendant says he is innocent.
Police say he is guilty.

Defense lawyer says he was falsely accused.
Points out his ex-wife works for the lab and wants him imprisoned.
Police detectives are leaning on the DNA blood evidence.
Who is lying and how many of them? It is a quandary....

Tunnel of Hate
Some children found her battered, bloody corpse
inside the tunnel, face down in  the trash;
they screamed, 'She's hurt' and ran to fetch some help.
Detectives wondered why he'd left her cash.
They didn't catch the brutal killer (or at least,
they still don't know he's doing time now as 'The Beast').

written 26th January for Kai's Murder in the Tunnel contest...

Premium Member Six People Confessed To the Murders
Six people confessed to the murders of four.
Police detectives were consternated.
This many confessions had never happened before.
This was totally unanticipated.

Other homeless people lined the police station door.
Police said “Now, these jail cells are overrated.”
In a week the confessions numbered twenty-four.
Free room and board for all those who participated....

Daring Detectives delight me
Dreaming dastardly dilemmas
Deliberating discerning dialogues
Discovering delectable dramas
Diligently dissecting diaries
Dutifully documenting details
Discreetly digging
Dutifully dialoguing
Dividing distressed details
During division of documents
Dendrites dancing delightfully
As I decipher dynamics of dramas
Depicted by distinguished detectives...

The Neck of My Breathing
it burns
my punishment
for
speaking out
my leg thigh
feels the pain
my teeth throb
my eyes feel scratchy

heaven help me
because
Justice never will

it feels like
a rubber band
around my
head

why?
won't they come and
stop crime

Shoes
Frogs like open toad shoes I'm told
Swamps might be where crocs are landing
A ninja likes to wear sneakers
Large shoes show good understanding!

The boss always looks for loafers
Detectives lean toward gumshoes
You'll see pumps in a hardware store
Clogs are what a plumber will choose

But sometimes people go barefoot
And though shoes do look kind of neat
Nothing is quite as comfortable
As when there are none on your feet!...
