Green Tongues

Green Trees to calm our nerves.
Fresh Air to sooth our lungs.
Dampness to cool our heads
and Comfort to fuel our tongues.

Obsessions

  in autumn’s dampness
a moth of fervent purpose
     becomes another's-
  diamond lattice glinting
  before a hunter’s moon

Forest Still

Sunlight filtering
on moss dampness that blankets
the silent forest.

Sun and Fog

Sun
Sometimes
Shines brightly
After the rain
Stops

Fog
Follows
The dampness
After the sun
Goes

Stepping Out

STEPPING OUT

Stepped out this morning after many torrid days.
Stillness and dreeping dampness met my gaze.
Trees above thankful for the welcome swallow.
I too breathed deep a welcome here below.

Grit and Shine

Chrome meets sun;
a slick reflection

Salt and grit;
smooth surface;lined

Body scuffed;
marked;textured

Dampness green;
always forgiving of nature.

Hairs stand on end;
obscurity march
in procession

9-11 In the 70's

Feelings of the rain gone by,
The dampness in the ground,
The dust and dirt gone from the sky
And newness all around.

Then again wetness falls
Awakening the fact
These birds that sing are heralding
Summers final act.

Tanka 4 - Treasure of My Soul

Tanka 4 – Treasure of My Soul

	dampness of your skin
wet hair dripping down your back
	glancing toward me
one small laugh escapes your lips
a deep treasure of my soul

Rainy Day In Georgia

Menacing dark clouds
Sky covered in gray shawl
Sun peaks through then gone
Hope does not linger
Rain will continue

Mountain ridge of
Army tank green
Light soft beauty
Crown of dark clouds

Beheld gift
Of beauty
For moment

Green Tongues

Green Trees to calm our nerves.
Fresh Air to soothe our lungs.
Dampness to cool our heads
and Comfort to fuel our tongues.

Branches to free our notions
and storm clouds to feed our soul.
Black rain to fill us up again
and raped wind to make us whole.

Out On the Porch December 4 2011

Heavy frost, below freezing tempertures
Have denuded some trees
The pale pink running roses frozen sure
No longer the flutter or buzz of bees
Winter winds only thing to endure
Heavy over hanging clouds dampness
A lone buzzard flies
Irony spring buds adorn trees...

Morning Doves

The creek rise rolled in mixed with fog Dampness coats shrubs and trees Morning Doves sing through it all Yet no sound from the bees

It Glows Inside

The fog settles over the snow
Icy rain falls, no-where to go
Everything is close, can’t see far
Shields of white and gray, set the bar
Of what to see, this winter day
But dampness cannot find a way
To reach the heart, that glows inside
Waiting for weather to subside

June

June
Marched in
With the bright, blazing sun
It takes away the cold
And slips in
The warmth
It tiptoes around
On the hot, burning ground
But it doesn't gallop away
It stays there
Till summer fades
Then it sneaks
Back in the cold, dampness
And limps around
In the snow
Till it melts
Away

I Remember

looking back when i was growing up
i can fondly remember the subtle breeze
so fine and smooth
as a dandilion blowing underneath
a weeping willow tree
i shall remember grasshoppers with one leg
i pleasantly smell the dampness
of a butterflies cocoon under the porch
crab apples and then
it's spring again

Arms Wrap Around

Arms wrap softly around her now
How long it has been since
She came to taste of the great love,
And of His love convinced

Cool morn's air coats both writer and
Chair, fog's dampness coats all
The gentle breeze pleasant as dew
It's cool presence enthrall

Ghosts of the Night

In dampness of night Ghosts play in the candlelight Their shrieks cloud the sky They have translucent bodies To move in and out of things Ghosts stirring around Carrying with them great fear That moves them forward Screaming with your heart inside Laughing at your awesome fear

Morning, From the Hill At the Little Stoke Turning

Streetlight buttercups
Cluster in the big city cloud.
Morning hungry bear, a great grey sloucher,
Frowning at the houses, scratches at the walls.
A plague of raindrops plunges down,
Cruel and malevolent, pecking at people and cars.
Out of the misty dampness, umbrellas grow quickly,
And small children float by.

Long Pier

the pier ghostly
as the fog rolls in---
weighing anchors
was it not here
we met the first time?

heavy mists
of memories
making steps---
timbers creak
yet, I find you not

this dampness
that rolls from my eyes---
tangible streaks
that exhale
the unforgettable you

Condensation

Condensed,
thin as this paper
between the hard tug
of time and gravity
and the moist weight
of my fears

A puddle, a mere,
a human life;
still breathing,
thinking, wanting,
muddling through

I fear now, I must wait
in shallow dampness
for a warm sun to
dry these tears,
then rise and
become a
cloud

Diffrent Agenda

Mud cookies
        Swallowed,
        Under
        Punishing sun.
        Cramp
        Dampness
        Termination,
        New day has begun.
        Perplexed
        Deprived hunger,
        I fritter away
        Enclose fun.
       Unbalanced
       Ying
              Yang
       The Devil has won.

Meet Me In An Ecstasy

See me where
the palms scrape the skies,
where the exquisiteness of life
cannot be deprived of
Sense me between
the sheet s of dampness
Love & adore me in the
hot waves of
a midsummer gust
I want you around
I want you here & there
forever
meet me in an ecstasy
where we can
spend our time together

Rumbling Ways

I can taste the rain, smell the rain,
Feel it in the air
But it isn't falling yet
Holding back, playing fair
Just the dampness,
Stirring with gray clouds
Until it's enough to storm
A sky will bellow loud
Nature yells in ways
What is it trying to say?
I can taste the rain
Before it speaks its rumbling ways
