Notes About The Poem

Rainy Day In Georgia

Menacing dark clouds
Sky covered in gray shawl
Sun peaks through then gone
Hope does not linger
Rain will continue

Mountain ridge of
Army tank green
Light soft beauty
Crown of dark clouds

Beheld gift
Of beauty
For moment

Dampness
Covers

Fog

Amazing description of this rainy day, Sara. I like the way you personify the sun. Especially liked the way your rainy day drifted into fogginess. This is much like the story of life, my friend. Excellent work! Love, Carolyn

Brook Benton sang about a rainy night in Georgia. You have written about a rainy day in Georgia. This DH vividly describes the Cherokee lands during and after a rainy day.
