Man explores outer space
     with probes and rocket ships,
whilst here the human race
     ebbs from the headlong tips

of balance: wars, famine,
     waste, hunger, crime, disease, 
and his wild greed worsens

Why not spend the vast wealth

     at light-speed (once we're freed

an old spectacles, 
a keep sake, 
a rarest inheritance
from my dearest dad.

Crises, tensions, frustrations…
Struggles, triumphs, delights…
Life had left its imprints
on my dad’s spectacles.

It betrayed him never;

It’s a mate of his eyes; 
nothing could part them

In the shallows of dreadful meadows, 
the forgotten becomes the fergetful shadows, 
in pains 
we crush our little gains, 
the mill we grind, 
stirred with strokes behind. 
We let go our sorow, 
derive joy in d furrow, 
we gather to sing, 
as to aleviate our sting, 
the urge in us to complain, 
quenched by apathy in campaign, 
our venom rises, 
but depreciate as to our crises, 
and in the shallows of dreadful meadows, 
we become the forgetful shadows...

and now all that is left
Is a sad, slow denouement
the dance of love bereft.
All the crises have been resolved
the plot, once thick, has thinned.
Our sets dismantled, stage empty,
because we’ve reached the end.
Our love was but a fantasy
of rainbows and moonbeams,
A dream rent by reality;
loves’ seldom what it seems.
The curtain on our play has closed,
now we play other parts;
Picking up the bits and pieces
left of our shattered hearts....
