Plump went with Pulchritude

I sat under a tree
in a garden by the sea
Follow me
   said the bumblebee
I can fly
   cried the butterfly
Come visit me
    chimed in both the lily

A foxy dame passed through a diner
with auburn locks bouncing here and there.
Dude sighed, “ take the best wine
    but tonight you’re all mine;
chimed she,” hike off; I’m this bar’s owner.”

Call
How many times can one stare
at the cell, hoping to induce a call?
She promised she’d ring later, but
it hasn’t chimed its siren song,
and I wait here in the dark, melting
into the couch, the stone-cold cipher
a mute testimony to indifference
and a lonely heart....

Tramp Stamp
There was a cute young man
where I worked
Who was buying his
fishing license
And I
so matter o factly
asked him if he wanted
his tramp stamp with that
He quickly chimed in
Let's see
I am going camping
and if I catch a tramp
without the stamp
is the DNR
gonna fine me??...

Sorry
The article was written
All the critics had chimed in
Not what they had expected
Each one having their own spin

Words taken out of context
Knowing not what they had meant
Accusations unfounded
Hurting wasn't his intent

Apologies to all
Harm wasn't meant
His heart it is breaking
To all he repents...

Premium Member Isnt She a Bit Odd
"Isn’t she a bit odd?" a PTA lady asked me.
I did not know what to say.

She was my cousin, so not odd to me.
The others fell silent.

"I think she came to one of our meetings, " one said.
"I remember that," another chimed in. "She didn’t fit in so well."

Probably because you were so welcoming, I thought....

Immortally Dead
i knelt for his scythe
much to his surprise
bowed my head
nothing said
why don't you beg
his boney teeth sprayed
all fear
when i am near
answer me
i was made to die
now tell me that i lie
raise your eyes to mine
he chimed
head still bowed
just do it i growled
but don't miss
or your name
will make my list...

The Cardinal and the Rose
The cardinal saw the rose
puff in rosy self praise and pride
It chimed beating its own drums
exultant about its beauty
The cardinal retorted
Hey, don't blush in vain
just hush and shush with that vanity
for I'm just as ruddy red.
Besides I can fly
with my head held high
The rose never nodded
The cardinal waited for no reply....

Midnight Pearl
He took her to a restaurant,
And after that, a play;
A moonlit walk as midnight chimed -
It brought a special day.

They had been married thirty years;
He chose the gifts with care:
Some ear rings and a string of pearls,
And lilies for her hair.

Their hotel wasn’t far away;
What happened next I can not say…

Premium Member I Want Ice Cream Cone Shoes
I want ice cream cone shoes
You mean like Neapolitan ice cream?
No, I mean like turquoise ice cream.
The color of Daddy’s 1957 Chevy.

But ice cream cones shoes have not been invented yet.
Neither has turquoise ice cream, grandma chimed in.
Then I will invent them, the optimistic girl said.
It took her fifty years, but she created ice cream shoes.
They were turquoise, and they were a hit!...

Your Heart On the Line
the happy state, ignoring to flucuate,
the quick fix-it mentality to abbreviate,
in busyness cannot stop,
to take the time to sit down and talk,
with rushed assumptions, turning backs,
wow, ain't nobody got time for that?,
confined in mime, still standing in line,
the comfort of conformity in the song that's chimed,
would you move if it meant to step out of line?,
to prevent yourself from being paralzed?...

Sing a Song of Christmas
There is a soft sound like a silken melody,
So angelic it belies the outside world.
An open fire, crackling with heat;
Set shadowed forms dancing on the walls;
And gave the ballerina on the Christmas tree,
A sense of life and a sense of gaiety.
A fat cat curled on a velvet rug,
Was still purring from a caress a hour ago,
As the big clock chimed to the stroke of time,
Attune to winds threatening at the door....

Writing Wrongs (Birth)
Are these really victimless
Crimes if no one knows the
Exact number of times my
Phrases rang mental door
Chimed in feelings one
Verse of rhymed wielding
Theses rhymed dealings
Create irreversible feelings
Satanic following me into
My hellish verses words
Spinning an evil hex
Casting charming verses
The real intent played
Subliminally in reverse
Is this really lust
Or love lustfully born

I'm writing wrongs...

Premium Member Trish Lee
Trish Lee was un- apologetically,
 absolutely, completely,
foundationally, right most of the time.

She was basically,
categorically, mathematically,
able to tell time because her cuckoo clock chimed.

Hypothetically, analytically,
metaphorically, she understood the cuckoo clock
better than most.

Because scientifically,
 comprehensively, she could shift-change
and enter the clock like a small wispy ghost....
