Great tiny apple
Consequence of branches untrimmed
Will anyone bother to learn
That you are
Defiantly delicious?
trees in reverie
interlude of frenzy gone
bare branches pray
stretching limbs for miracle
beauty irresistible
Branches
of the willow
hide us from the world as
you caress me tenderly in
your arms
my tanka
an injured bluebird longing
for the branches above
but finding beneath the snow
the forgotten seeds of fall
willow is weeping
its branches drifting in breeze...
a baby crying

Snow laced branches silent without birdsong.
Frosted ears that can't hear spring.
Frozen winter music.

as moon peeks
through willow’s branches. . .
his long lashes

The Ageless Forest
Knowledge branches bear
Root deeply before my birth
Touch disappears green

Rainstorm batters trees
broken branches-scattered leaves
kitten sleeps by kitchen stove.
in an unseen giant's hands:
the deft squirrels probing,
penetrating lush leafage,
spanning tangled trees' branches.
The cold breeze brushes down my face
Nude bony branches shiver in shame
Blazing berries smile at me!

cleaning the spring
of decaying leaves and branches
clean when you see
blue skies and salamanders
near the bubbling vents
a simple sunrise
naked branches shuddering
in December air
promises of snow blizzard
fill young 'uns hearts with wonder
buds exploding
on bare branches longing for
spatter of raindrops

seeds unraveling into branches
branches spawning into flowers
flowers dispensing their fruit
fruit distributing their seeds
fireflies are soaking wet and heavy under the branches
they can fly up
to the higher trees
too much rain
they aren't bees.

Little Bridges For The Animals Of The Wild
Across The Stream Of Rocks
blue skies
muddy feet
slate chips scattered in the lawn
millions of branches
scattered around
sweet tweet - robin's sound
Like waves of mem'ry
Attracting my attention,
The breezes ruffle
The water's shining mirror
Distorting leaves and branches.
A leaf, curled and crimson,
bends beneath branches,
burdened by cold and creeping chaos.
Crescent moon inching
across a crisp morning sky
dipping horizon
cautious, it eludes fingers
of spindly, reaching branches
From the Mediterranean Sea to California
Extraordinary green trees grown since ancient times
Oils and fruit, branches of peace
The branches
Performing their
Sacred ghost dance
Locked in
This holy trance
Beneath the
Light of this
Peach cobbler
Moon
Tendrils of fresh green
misting branches long barren
suddenly appear
Inspired by Carol Browns Springtime contest
Bent with age circumstances of life shaped trunk
Strong green limbs and branches shine
Distant storm approaches
