Horsing Around
Women get a charge off a steed
That understands their basic need
To gallop bareback
And take up the slack
Girls love to come with all due speed!...

Waving Time
Monday here again
A seventh of my life
To sit and sip
a third coffee
And plan the day
Lord how I'd love to get away
To Summer beach
To count the sea
To ride the seventh wave
Or sit a bareback horse and see
If I can just behave
I'm getting old
The coffee's cold
I still have time to save...

In a market outdoors one day, Pam
was caught pilfering using a pram.
Fast away that lass flew
bareback on a young ewe.
One might say she was then "on the lam(b)."

For john freeman's limerick contest.
If I have to name a category, I'll call this one
"use of an expression inside a limerick"...

Back To Canyon Country
The sky is a lesser blue now,
but the same winter-knifing wind I remember
off the ridges, across alfalfa fields….
Just condos now, impervious to weather.
Cantering bareback on Molly –
saddle on its sawhorse back in the barn –
I was Lone Ranger, last of my breed.
A flake of hay for Molly, years gone by…....

Change Rides Bareback
My hopes were high
For a future that held
Change riding in fast
On wild horses
Bareback and free
On a sunny morning
I saw my life being
Born again
It’s mother was a young
Possibility
Brimming with expectation
I watched as labor pains
Became growing pains
And my life darted
Steadily towards the horizon...

Wild Horses
In dreams I ride bareback the wild horses
Long hair loose and flowing behind
free as their manes and tails
As gentle breeze embraces my form
Moonlight mesmerising my mind
as I trip through the stars
Exhilarated, racing heart, free to roam
Unrestricted on barren lands
Returning back to horizons reality....

Leader (Choka)
She’s on white stallion
Bareback sitting properly
Providing beauty

As she passes by my tent
Leaving me breathless
As she is now the sunlight

That brightens my days
I see her riding, always
To the front of camp

She is the lady gen’ral
I’ll follow her to my death

Premium Member Twisted With Anarchy
A wall with our unified attack
together we can take anything down;
Even naked riding horses bareback;

A big city in sync with a small town,
sane but a bit twisted with anarchy;
This rebellion will be world renown;

No longer content to just let things be
there is still something here to save;
If you fight you belong at this party;

Call us malignant but we’ll misbehave,
crashing on the shore we are the wave....

Bareback Rider
Out on the heath hies a lady in white,
Riding a giant toad;
Who is that woman, luminescently bright,
Spurring her steed on the road?

West Country witch whom, legends recount,
Transformed her man with a spell:
Cuckolding lover, she made him her mount—
Unclad, she straddles him well.

Reptile croaking along on the path;
Lady, equestrienne witch,
Whacking his scaly skin with a lath,
Hopping each brook and broad ditch....

O leviathan,
enter the dark cloud of death
defanging fire,
the mountain wants to shiver.

Sand was slipping from my fists.
I cannot hold the time;
wet eyes
will find another moon.

The milk had dried up in body.
A heart burns like bonfire,
for a heretic. A lone stranger
in a city of wolves.

A bareback beauty sits on the rock
waits for the sea
to bring her the poison. An Aphrodite
will never call for nothing.

Castle of Cards
forget forget
don't let this cozy
castle of cards
cave in on me
rain on my parade-
language is built
on charades, empty
molds of words,
cascades of dripping
thoughts. the night
lies heavy & distraught,
confused why it's
always so dark.
(stark dark)
my body is the
mark of the
devil, my soul:
miracle, a complete
act of god.
forgotten forgotten
the earth is
rotten &
covered in dust-
thrust out of the
sky, i ride bareback,
clinging to the
gasping land....

White Horse
The White Mare
the incoming tide made an island out of
the sand bank where I sat, king for a day,
made a crown of coarse grass
but since I only ruled over a few crabs, who
bit my finger when I shook their claws, I
renounced my crown and swam ashore.
Sanitation workers, in blue overalls and
logo, heckled me since I was not like them
and they made fun of my crown.
On an incoming wave a white mare came,
bareback I mounted and gently the horse
trotted amongst the awestruck workers...
