April a'int no fool, she's been to school
knows showers should bring May flowers
but in the Ukraine, where missiles reign
all the flowers are going for wreaths.

Premium Member April Fools' Day Cat

A cat on April Fools’, sleek and cool,
Found itself in a rather wet duel.
With a splash and a splosh,
In a fishbowl, it did wash,
Proving even a feline can be a fool!

Our Rabbi wasn't quite sure what to do
Had no lessons on this in Rabbi school
Lift her MASK or her VEIL?
   Oy, our Rabbi turned pale
Just then all the guests shouted, "April Fools!"

It's April the 1st today
A day of jokes, laughter and pranks on each other.

April Fools

The warming
muzzle of sun
burrows into
budding souls
till wind changes--
turns its back,
broods, then touches
us cold
as temperatures
fall
and yes,
this is
the cruelest
month, the
naked temptress
of sateen summer.

Marching On

Yesterday was Pi Day;
Today it is the Ides.
Monday is St. Patrick’s Day,
Where Irish pride resides.

The rest of March is nondescript
But as the month unspools,
We’re heading toward the date
To celebrate those April fools!

April Fool

There you are my April Fool
You're meant to be as me
When you can say you're only truth
is that you're left to be

When only you can say you're proof
of what was meant to be
When only you can say the truth
is that you're taught by we

Man With a Bucket

There once was a man with a bucket
Who had a chicken in it to pluck it
But he said with a grin
Maybe I’ll fill it with gin
So he threw the chicken away and said _______ ____!@#@%!

Once my dog humped the rug (yes, a shag!)
A new species was born. I could gag!
It is half carpet but
It is one half a mutt.
Shaggy rug dog has tails that can wag!

Tonight, I swear, way up in the sky
I saw three cackling witches fly by

And then down here on the ground
    Why, ghosts, goblins and skeletons
       all rattling around

And wouldn't you know it, a monstrous ghoul
So, Happy Halloween, Pal! ~ or April Fools

Nobody’s Fool

Life is a court and I am its jester
A miserable comic with a knack for obsolescence
The bells on my hat draw disgraceful attention
To the tasks I cannot juggle
And the knives I cannot dodge
And yet, I make them laugh
If only at my misery
At least I can’t say
I’m nobody’s fool.

April Fools

Was I a fool to love you
this beating heart of mine
They said you come in April
this beating heart of mine
With tiny hands and tiny feet a wonder love of life so sweet
this beating heart of mine
Yet you did not make it
this beating heart no more
Am I a fool to love you still
this beating heart no more

April Fools'

(This is a fictional poem)

My neighbor played an April fools' prank when he called me and said I won a
sweepstake.
I was furious when I learned it was all fake.
When he said April fools', you should've heard the names he got called.
I happen to be his barber and when he comes in my shop, I'm going to shave
him bald.

April Fools

A local business sent out mail
Which said, "We're all for Trump!"
I questioned if a nod from them
Would give a welcome bump.

But underneath the banner cry
The note said, "April Fools!
However, there's free shipping
When you order by the rules."

I chuckled at this little prank
But wondered if that poke
Would be perceived by Donald fans
As just a little joke.

April Fools

April is the month for fools,
At least today, the first,
When pranks are played and joking rules
As logic is reversed.

It’s been around for many years,
Observed both here and there,
With hoaxes ending not in tears
But laughter meant to share.

To get in spirit, pull a gag
To fool your kith or kin.
Shake off those doldrums - time to snag
That silliness within.

April Fools'

Does anybody still play pranks
To honor April Fools’?
It used to be a date when people
Messed with all the rules.

The press would often publish
Stores that were clearly fake.
We laughed about that once, but now
There’s just too much at stake.

It’s sad to find that humor
Lately, more than not, provokes,
When in the past we lightened up,
On April Fools’, with jokes.
