April Fools

April is the month for fools,
At least today, the first,
When pranks are played and joking rules
As logic is reversed.

It’s been around for many years,
Observed both here and there,
With hoaxes ending not in tears
But laughter meant to share.

To get in spirit, pull a gag
To fool your kith or kin.
Shake off those doldrums - time to snag
That silliness within.

I love the "silliness within". And I like the term "the silliness within"- I may have to borrow it if you do not mind.

Yes, indeed: 'Time to snag the silliness within.' A little levity goes a long way, I say! :)

Ah, I so agree. My father was born on April 1, so he was always the butt of April Fool jokes in our home. He was good natured about it...most of the time. A silliness, a hearty laugh, never hurt anyone unless it's malicious. Of course, none of us would be malicious.

The joke that never ends for those born on the first day of April (like those born on the 29th of February) . . . .Aloha!
