Air Con
He pointed throught the sunlight
From the kerb edge,
Fiddling with his fingers,
Looking rather silly
It has to be said.
"Turn your air conditioning on"
He bawled.
So slowly
I wound my window down....

The Empty Desk Next To Him
I saw him sitting there
so beautiful and sweet
wind swept hair from the
school air conditioning

The desk next to you is empty
and I hear it calling my name
I'm too shy to talk
but my heart longs for you

babe at the desk...

No Ac
I can’t imagine my life without air conditioning.
Without it my life would just keep burning.
Without ac life would be too hot.
If you asked me to go outside I would not,
Because it would be too hot,
But I have ac so its not even a thought....

Le Vacance Pretentieuse: Dessert In the Deserted Desert
Boiling, baking and blazing,
               Other synonyms for heat.
My camel is happily dazing,
He was not a restful seat.
Poolside I’ll later be lazing,
	Resting my sunburnt feet.
Air conditioning is amazing,
Ice cream is a lovely treat....

Thumpity thump thump thump
Children laugh with glee

Thank heavens for air conditioning
Bumpity bump bump bump
Wheeeee!

Declares, “This shall not be forgotten!”
Dad pleads his case,
“But, I put a mattress on the bottom.”...

Program With Great Plan
Program With Great Plan

We want a program with a great plan,
And reach a goal that  we hope it can;
Wonder why;
Try  and Try;
Even if we did have to lift another ban.

Food

Electricity
A refrigerator
Air-conditioning and heat
A comfortable bed
These are just a few...
Of many mundane necessities
Readily available to us
Things we Americans
Take for granted
On a quotidian basis
Sadly so few and far between
In third-world countries

Start
Sometimes I drive to work
listening to nothing except tires rolling
and air conditioning blowing,
few thoughts since I got out of bed,
just reacting to the world and road,
can feel brain shrinking, no heavy load,
no heartache or pain, worries that clatter,
even my duties ahead don’t matter,
till I park, and the day shifts to start....

Premium Member I Shall Invent a Refrigerator
I shall invent a refrigerator Jake declared.
It has been invented, I replied as loud as I dared.
I will invent air conditioning for a whole house then.
He was smug on the slide; I quickly looked good at him.
Why don’t you just be yourself, and act four-years-old?
I know what I’ll do, he replied. I shall invent silver and gold....

Summer In the City
Having to dwell in the city is a bummer whenever it is in the middle of the summer. From the cracks in the pavement, you can feel the heat. The sun shows no mercy when it hits the concrete. I want to get home and out of the street. Air conditioning and an ice-cold beer is what I want to meet. inspired by another member's poem

Sleeping Raw
I open my eyes, and you stare at me in awe. Have you never seen anyone sleep in the raw? It is a mid-summer night that is quite sultry. With no air conditioning, this is the way to be. I am spending the night naturally. There is nothing to wear that would encumber. This is the way many other people slumber. Lady, why don't you come and lay beside me? First, tell me, do you like what you see?

Premium Member Our Mallard Story
They rarely need a home I begged
So we built our new mallards a little duck pond
In October, we added a little duck house, up the hill, for protection.
Then of course, a dog bed, which they liked.

We were installing a little heater in Mid-November
but they flew away
Not to worry my neighbor told us. “They will be back in the spring.”
Maybe by then we will not have to install an air conditioning unit in the duck house....

Ac In Arizona
Lord only knows how the settlers survived
When in Arizona's desert they arrived

I visited there in late November
And the piercing heat I still remember

Air conditioning's great invention
Brought to this state renewed attention

The population grew by leaps and bounds
Many homes were built on the sandy mounds

"There's no humidity," some still will say
Yet none survive without AC each day

(AC stands for air conditioning)...

Sleeping Raw Again
It's another summer night that is quite sultry. There is no air conditioning without electricity. After the storm, the electric company has yet to restore the power we had just two nights before. It's dark in the bedroom with complete privacy. I have nothing on, but nobody can see. Here in this bed, there is only you and me. From now until we see the first light of day, let's just sleep here together the natural way.

Premium Member I Was Not Up
Summer 1972
I have a brand new baby
I love her to pieces
But I am exhausted

I had no idea babies were this much work
It is not like an eight to five job
It is a twenty-four hour job
It’s hot here

We spend a lot of time in the store
Where they have air conditioning
To cool down

Someone says to my husband
“I saw your lights on at two a.m.
Is everything all right?”
My husband says “I wonder why. I wasn’t up.”
I want to kill him....
