The sunniest mornings,
the most contemplative afternoons,
the most starry nights,
conveys my soul,
guides me through life...!
Enchanting hills laugh
Beyond the ridge of nature
Afternoons shimmer
Countryside’s beam light
From the sunsets of glory
Upon the white birch
A refreshing pitcher of lemonade.
Invited several old friends to drop in.
No bitter lemons among us.

Sunday afternoons beg for relaxation
Stretching out with a good mystery novel
Kitty shows me the moves

Fifty years still here
wrinkles starting to appear
strong extra mature.
fifty is just a number
afternoons I just slumber.
18th April 2017.
You assume I am happy
at the mall, at the beauty parlor,
at the cocktail afternoons with the girls.
Look in your wallet.
The plastic cards
don't say, "I Love You!"
May drifts in like childhood’s echoing breeze,
stirring scents of honeysuckle afternoons.
Every blossom feels like a memory~
spring calls me back home.
Mornings of rubies and sapphires are fine
Afternoons of Topaz and turquoise divine
Evenings with Emeralds shine bright
But nothing compares to a Black Diamond night
summer afternoons
hot breath of summer
even the dark shadows sweat ~
solstice stupor
sweltering doldrums
heat waves rise on sallow breaths ~
only the bees buzz
Sunday Afternoons
America's beloved game
Its name is Football.

In dusty Karoo towns
Sunday afternoons are
sentences of solitary confinement
Deserted streets
closed doors and windows
No sign of life
One wonders if the rapture
has taken place
I'm lost in words
I cannot write a poem
Is this a word depression
I await wet Autumn afternoons
for obituaries on past poets
Dead horizons roll on their heads
towards an uncertain future
On those hot summer's afternoons around five,
there's nothing that soothes like a rich ice cream;
sweaty kids can't wait for Mr. Softee to arrive
and they run while their hysterical moms scream!
The
first rain
of Autumn
falls quietly
on sun-dried pastures
left after Summer's long
afternoons. The first rain
of Autumn creates
silvered puddles
reflecting
a dark
sky
Sunday afternoons were for reading
She'd get lost in worlds of fantasy
Of mystery and adventure
She'd escape and let her mind wander
To far corners of the world and beyond

Love has many shades --
the methods we color our
feelings. Often giving them
faces and names. Times, the
mornings, afternoons and
evenings -- Which are more
the Passionate? Only Love
can decide.
Once closer, that furthest
Away is in tone.
Urban-flashed and urban- buzzed
From the rustic one.
Linked but of this, a track.
And thin! And of mud!
Mother's call, late afternoons
Cow to which did scud!
My mind is filled with pretty things
Thoughts of days with you
Where we can sit by river banks
With nothing else to do
Lavender iced lattes
Lazy afternoons
Listening to The Neighborly
My kind of honeymoon
tropic afternoons
spent on her Antarctic glares
my dent on cosmos

Form Haiku
Blown down on, morning-mild.
Breathed out, afternoons
Of that, for which this heart swoons
Life. Rhythmic; restful.
The element of air
Itself transmuted.
Listen! Grassed, hoppered, wing'ed.
Of harmonists full.
One day I was sitting in a field
Ogling at my afternoons yield
When across the road I seen
A lovely meadow so green
Cars don't see fur as a shield

Fall Pleasure
On autumn soaked afternoons
When bits of fall confetti ride breezes,
Or tumble to the ground,
Settle in a comfy chair
Wrapped in cozy, a cinnamon scent,
Cup of cider and a little chocolate something.
Today day is like
A caspsule of our whole life
Every morning a beginning
A start so fresh and clean
Because afternoons
Are so hectic
And evenings
Are regretful
So thank our God
For life
For a chance
For mornings
I fondly remember Road Runner cartoons
That amused us until weekend afternoons
Wile E. got just desserts
On that barren desert
But I wished Acme mailed him Kevlar balloons
12/28/15 for combination of three words contest
Golden shoulders
Green grass
Bright nails
Faded shirts
Big sunglasses
Little movement
Water fights
Washed cars
Busy schedules
Lazy afternoons
Floating rivers
Sinking sun
No sweatshirt
No inhabitions
I'll miss you, summer.
