As I turn away, no tears left to cry
We should’ve talked—I tried before goodbye
The love we laid to rest, now marked in chalk
Not all your fault, not mine—we both did our best
I keep what’s left locked deep inside
A place in me where you still hide
"A true writer must write. Ink is in their veins." By Poet
Writers love their many letters to choose from,
letters turning into words then into sentences.
Poems come from the love of writing,
writing about the past or maybe about the present.
Poems can be true or false,
some will make you cry and others will make you laugh.
The writer and reader are both in love,
in love with letters, words, sentences and reading.

Bright star, shine far
Deep scar, leaves mar
I always try living each day in the moment,
spending scant time on what might lie ahead.
The future is uncertain, and only God knows,
so I review tidbits sleeping in my past instead.
Had a rather shadowy pitch,
she stirred her bubbling pot,
and caused more trouble than you thought!

Short Poem On Advice
Miracle Man
2/17/2025
No person knows how another person’s hurting,
so before giving advice, let us first peruse.
Not responding in ways which are disconcerting,
Unless we have taken a few steps in their shoes.
Short Poem On Sleep
Miracle Man
2/17/2025
I’m only an acquaintance of peaceful sleep,
nocturnal thoughts are awash throughout the night.
Clock time for restfulness I no longer keep,
I’m tossing and turning until morning light.
Short Poem
I like writing short poems
I don’t have to think too much!
12/5/1938
Miracle Man
From my life’s wondrous vignettes,
many happy memories were born.
But on today’s birthday as I reflect,
eighty-six finds me tired and worn.
The short poem
There was a time when writing poetry
was important to say something, using a few words
Long poems were frowned upon as a beginning
of a manuscript
He used to be a communist, as his mother was one
Communism, like unbridled capitalism, hates
free speech, want a restriction on what to express
unless it is in favor of the regime
To be any good at isms, one needs passion and
hatred against those who do not succumb to the norm
the standard set not to upset the powerful
He gets angry seeing injustices and says, but he is lucky
for him, he is too small to be noticed
he prefers to use irony, which is easier to get away
with as those in power lack humor
He does not believe in ideology or creed for him
it is hokum, a snare for the gullible
Years have made him wary of governments of any
description because they tend to be led by people
who lacks a long view led by the intoxication of money and power
A Short Poem
On Being Average
Miracle Man
9/27/2024
Those who aren’t content with being,
just as good as others they’re seeing.
Will put forth effort until they drop,
knowing cream always rises to the top.
Being as good as your peers
only makes you average.
Tom
Whistling sounds of the sorrows,
The wind would pass through the morrows,
No time to stop,
As it continues its path,
The path carved beneath,
Laid down just for it,
Rushing tune comes from afar,
It returns,
look over its shoulders,
With the mishap left behind,
No longer in its eyes,
Deemed luminary,
The idleness erased above,
Picked up just for I,
Runes it stays, futile I must say,
Fester on in time, sits through decay.
