Premium Member The Moon Shone Brightly - Potd

Lilac lavender leaves fluttered ethereally
over the smooth sea of the placid lake.
A shimmer of light shone over the calm waves,
as they rolled silently and collectively
towards the sandy shore now lit
by the rising of the amber full moon.

Wave after wave composed
a lyrical enchanting melody
played by the rising orb.

The leaves formed fragrant shapes
emulating the grandness of the scene.
In the gathering darkness two lovers
heard the alluring symphony
and felt each other entwined
in a dance of love as the moon
in a dreamy crescendo shone
brightly evermore.
Until the eclipse took place.
Then it hummed no more that night.

Way To Success God Had Shone

Way To Success God Had Shone

Instead of being bare to the bone,
And also by myself and left alone;
Bothered being;
Not worth seeing;
Wish way to success God had shone.

Premium Member A Star Shone Bright

A star shone bright in Eastern sky
   two thousand years ago
as angels sang their hymns on high
to let the whole world know.
They sang their praise, their greeting bring
as bells in heaven start to ring
      They sang their praise…
         They sang their praise
to Jesus Christ the Savior King.

A star shone bright in Eastern sky
   while shepherds in the fields
watched o’er their flock with mindful eye
   as good news was revealed.
They heard the hymns the angels sang
down on their knees the shepherds sprang
      They heard the hymns…
         they heard the hymns
as bells in heaven softly rang.

A star shone bright in Eastern sky,
   gave signal to the world
that Christ child lie in crib nearby;
   the future was unfurled.
He came to earth amid the din
and mankind’s journey did begin
      He came to earth…
         He came to earth
to save us from our deadly sin.

Now Heaven Shone

At eighteen,
I thought that I could write my way to heaven
I’d waltz right in, announce my name, and sit
  down on its throne

At twenty-five,
I sat in jail to rot in isolation
my freedom gone, my will deformed,
  but worst of all alone

At thirty-five,
I thought that I could write my way to riches
the screenplay bombed, all doors were closed,
  and wounds there freshly mined

At forty-eight,
I met a man who told me I was lost
“By Looking Out The Words Won’t Come,
  Your Truth You’ll Never Find…”

By fifty-five,
my path was set—all trails converged as one
the entrance closed, the exit marked,
  a road of denser stone

By sixty-eight,
all verse within, the lines reset to music
the darkness gone, my words set free
    —all light now heaven shone

The Heavens Cheerfully Shone

The heavens cheerfully shone

As the sea was completely torn

Love was perfectly shown

But dreamers have sadly gone

Only the surface has been known

The Light Still Shone In Her Eyes

I lie back and think of her
Wishing my days were younger still
And the light that shone
In her eyes still did so for me

Do you think of her decision
That she made to go when
You wanted her to stay forever
The years have passed slowly

But I remember her still
And the way she looked
At me when the morning sun
Still shone for me.

The Day the Sun Shone

It was one of those days
Summery haze
Little girls and boys out to play
It was the day the sun shone
It was one of those days
Lovers gaze
All the grown ups smiling
It was the day the sun shone
It was one of those days
Bluebells and Waves
Shining glory
It was the day the sun shone
It was just one of those lazy hazy days
It was the day the sun shone

Premium Member Suddenly the Light Shone

Awoke by the coldness of the night
there it is nothing to be seen
you are alone in a rescue life boat
temperatures falling cold’s really keen

Can’t remember much how it happened
the cruise ship must have became a wreck
thankfully at least I am still alive
nothing more to do but look for a speck

It must be night as it’s so dark
nothing else to be seen in sight
but then suddenly the light shone
my hopes raised see something bright

Maybe I’m close to shoreline
could it be it’s a lighthouse
a safe anchor for my soul
oh feel brave again I’m no mouse

The comfort a light does bring
just like how it dispels the dark
suddenly hope rises to flood your soul
how it all looks now see I no shark!

(Just some thoughts on being lost at sea and hoping for a light! )

The Stars Have Shone, From Times Beginning

Sheathed in holsters from fire to ice,
holding burning through the freezing oceans,
and freezing through the blazing skies.
The pain I have felt, from these scars,
these past horrors, from the beginning
these are my stars,
my freezing oceans and burning skies,
and I let them shine with you,
I let them shine with no one but you.
See my flares lighting up the pitch black sky,
dyes of red, yellow and blue all calling out to beckon you.
My dear I bow before you a man who is torn in half,
ripped apart from his other half, without you,
let me join, so we together can light up the pitch black sky.

All of My Prayers Have Shone True

Blissful light, truest love,
fiery warmth all stemming
from the healing, I get from you.
Ripping lies, tripping highs, missing ties,
these are here to give me truth peace
and closing my loose ends,
my loose ends all tied up in one loop,
locking back up, turning to,
and starting each day with you.
Call me loudly, hug me tightly,
kiss me one more time.
Let me love you.
Trust me, when I say I will marry you,
listen closely as I preach my undying love for you.
So call me in the pitch black night,
and the blindingly bright day,
hold me in your fear, and hold me in your tears,
let your dreams tell of my feelings for you,
so you know you can let go with me.
Hold on to the love you know,
so you can speak, so you can seek,
so you can leak out the truth in your mind,
so you can say I love you too

Woods Shone White In the Moonlight

The woods shine white in the moonlight, with

Smells and sounds drifting through the night

A shift of moonlight illuminates the shivering leaves

As they spin and turn hanging tightly to its branches

Pools of shadows cast across the ground

Giving the whole place a haunting feeling of dread

Silence starts my heart to pound fast

Numb with fear, I draw my knees up close to my chest

Resting my hand upon my knees, laying my head down upon them wearily,

Hearing a sound, I freeze drawing a short breath, then rise to my feet to see

Moving cautiously, branches creak and leaves rattle in flight

As a sharp breeze springs up slicing through the autumn night.

Hiding from the faint glimmer of the moon keeping in the shadows

Hoping that the blackness around me will leave soon

Weak with fear, tears trickle down my cheeks as the night dies

The rising sun brings streaks of blue skies and prayers of thank you

Sun Shone Again

Sun shone again.
When the tears refused to fall,
And the sun decided to shine,
The rain would not fall,
Coz the sky was a big blue field.

Her dams were all dry,
Like wildfire the warmth spread,
The pain in a heart… a distant ache,
‘Twas blurred under the blanket
Of renewed hope.

Withered hope watered to life,
By all the love heaped upon her,
The smiles around her all true,
Chasing away the gloom and urging her to rise.

She held her breath and waited,
For the tears to fall yet again,
But fall again they would not
The sun in her life dried them up.

She tried to shield her eyes from the glare,
But it just shone on and on and on,
Into her cocoon of tears she could not enter
And all the corners of her life were lit up.
Eventually the tears were buried away,
Painful memories a distant past
Her present a warm place to be
Full of life and new colors all bright.
