Nature Paradigm

From dusk till dawn
Hunting, fishing
Exploring, loving the land.

Skills can be taught
Bravery cannot
It's an emotional quotient.

Parents encourage
Children playing outside
A way of knowing life with nature.

Patience, sense of balance
Tightening the time
Skills living in nature.

You are nature itself
Producing, protecting
Inspiring and loving to it.

Getting High

I feel awful my head hurts I keep hearing things I threw up a ton last night. couldn't walk anywhere. had no sense of balance. my head was throbbing all over. it was pulsing pain. I have never felt anything worse. I wanted to die. I thought I was going to die. never again

Premium MemberSacramento

SUNDAY mornings and sunsets at their very best

AND my neighbors were among the very best people

COMMONALITY and Community embrace her atmosphere

REALISTS make room for both optimists and pessimists

ATTITUDES tended to mix with a sense of balance

MORE like home to me than was my birth home

EVENING heat often surrendered to Delta Breezes

NEVER thought that I would ever leave her until 2021

TODAY, reluctantly, I'm learning to live without her

Of places I've lived, for 35 years, Sacramento was the best

She restores my sense of balance
    returns my sanity
Lifts me high above the workplace
    elevates humanity

  Friday night two angels come
    gliding through the door
  Behold! Sabbath lights kindled

Premium MemberThe High Horse

Why don't you get down from your high horse?
It may bring you down to Earth,
Because you are sitting up so high
It doesn't show your worth,
You may have a different view
Sitting high up there
But there are others beneath you
Who needs some love and care?

If you are sitting up so high,
It's easy to lose sight.
Out of sight of mind
Oblivious of the plight,
Of others and their kin
You discard them,
As quickly as throwing rubbish into a bin.
Every dog has its day,

That's how the saying goes.
Get down from that high horse,
And feel the Earth between your toes
Plant your feet firmly on the ground
It gives you a sense of balance
And help justice to abound.
If you want to rise even higher
You will always need a taller horse.
You will become a high flyer
And disappear off course.

for...whatever bugs you...eh?!
t.v as...this 'or'...that 'oar' with

only...just a sensed-sore of a hint of...
a real...sense-'ore' for understanding

that time is...natures imbalance...
a flow of...mental prism shadows that

demand a...neutral stance being that...
strength is...a sense of balance...not muscle

Premium MemberA Headlong Plunge

Draped in the darkness of the night
In a weather so dull and blight
Sad thoughts like a deadly shooter
Come out to bombard her outright

Shaking off their fitful slumber
They rise from their inert stupor
From the reservoir deep, spill out
As through newly opened shutter

They come from an unknown hideout
As all trace of life to wipe out
Unable to block the current
She totters in a drunken bout

They spill forth in mighty torrent,
With a beastly force violent
Like an angry mob on long wait,
Infringing all rules, nonchalant

Caught in the vortex of that spate
Her body began to gyrate
She lost all her sense of balance
Her sad fate, no one could abate

The Weight of Silence

A tower stands majestic and imposing
seeming asleep for the night
its silence weighing heavy, oppressive,
like a pain that would not go away
like a darkness that goes beyond
the absence of light.

In my sinking heart, I doze in twilight state
between dreaming and waking -
the privacy of it promises remedy
for persistent feelings of anguish
for losing an innate sense of balance
like a tortured soul courting sorrows
hiding behind unseen dark clouds
unwilling to let go and let be.

Shadows whisper in the stillness
one can hear a mouse blinking in the dark.
But I find no solace in the silence.
Looking up is a death knell from light
for the stars are dying, the universe a mystery,
impenetrable, choked up with unbridled passions.
Reason tumbles in a spit of craziness
even as I let the pregnant silence linger a bit
in bare tolerance, while the stars’ light disappear
swallowed and swallowed as they die.

Premium MemberBed of Nails

She undresses like a bather wading through the waning light
Till her darkest fears are splashing in the deep end of the night.
On some ship of dreams those sheets might be her sails,
Not a canvas full of nightmares draped across a bed of nails.

There now, baby, don’t you fret. We’ll just have some fun.
Let me hear my kitten purr. You’re the special one

Tries to focus on the ceiling with its old familiar crack;
Feels the piercing shame transfix her as she lay there on her back.
When she bears that weight, her sense of balance fails
Like that drunkard on his tightrope high above her bed of nails.

Hush now, baby, don’t you cry. Soon we’ll be all done.
Gotta, gotta, hurry, hurry… ring the bell and run.

Maybe someday she’ll grow braver and she’ll stand to offer proof
Of the monster in her closet and the gremlin on the roof,
But until that day, a stronger will prevails
And she’s just his little plaything lying on her bed of nails.

Premium MemberSpoilt For Choice

Spoilt for choice, engulfed by desire
We lose sense of balance
Fleeting goals for which we aspire
Corrupts our innocence

The welcome mat is laid
Bliss within is readymade
If ego goodbye bade

Lost our voice
Spoilt for choice

weightless astronauts...
they've brain and body problems...
no sense of balance...

there's information...
but input contradictions...
so...computers...

native peoples brains...
same as ours...but for knowledge...
we have weather men...

they do not need them...
bodies react to weather...
and the surroundings...

that information...
the input into our brains...
is generalized...

changes cause headaches...
and other body symptoms...
just weather response...

we go to doctors...
doctors blame stress and tension...
but brains are plastic...

so get out and walk...
exercise your gray matter...
get off all those pills...

Premium MemberA Welcome Guest

He races 'cross the fenceposts
   As perky as can be
Pausing abruptly, occasionally
As like a statue as a tree

Sniffing the air around him
Head cocked this way or that
Wondrous sense of balance
Lithe and graceful as a cat

Some call him a rodent
   Others deem him a pest
Yet viewed from my bay window
   A squirrel's a most welcome guest

Our Rested Souls

Our Rested Souls

To thy soul you have brought this magnificent perfection
and this sense of balance.
I have longed for my heart beats every drop of blood for thee.
My lungs breath every gasp of air.
I have not known the refined touch and beauty in all the days of my life.
Her voice when heard, makes every song bird listen
for she holds the perfection of song and so...
They sing and every sound I hear there on, is a reminder...
That I have found love that could not be denied.
I will always love forever in our rested souls.

A Sense of Balance

A sense of balance is all I need to cope,
so I don’t hang myself with a rope.
I’ve got to get a grip on life and keep my sanity.
God can’t save me if I don’t have serenity.

Nourishing nutrition is necessary.
A light diet is right, so I don’t have a coronary.
Exercise excites blood flow, so muscles move me.
Remember there’ll be brain drain with too much TV.

No alcohol to infest my body and impair judgment.
Mind won’t be in a grind so I can write well and not lament.
Learn from books and others as I don’t know it all.
Hard knocks of life lessens mistakes, so I don’t fall.

So what else is there to tell?
Well, the weekend is here and I want to hear the church bell toll.
Pray a lot and purify my heart with the psalms of the Lord.
Sense of balance gone if I don’t hang onto His Word.
