Sectarianism Poems | Examples

Better Pakistan

Tears in my eyes, pain in my heart
The country my forefathers fought for
Lost in the pathetic battle of politics
Bloodshed keeps ascending, dirty politicians
Forgotten land, hopes, and dreams
grow thinner every day. The air tastes like poison
Sectarianism is a virus eating us alive
The feces of poverty, insecurity, and terrorism

O Pakistan, rise from the forgotten sands
The cords of religion are strangling us
Discrimination is a mountain of birds
Education is a right for all
The unnoticed goodbyes are too much
Burdens of the heart, faded warm embrace
Let the journey begin, a new step of reformation
Our struggles are been stacked like bricks

Chase the darkness away
One people, one Pakistan
Many good things have been done
A sea of ugly happenings, kill
Time to face the unknown, brave
Let write our take in ink and with fire
We are here, hope breathes like
A burning candle; better Pakistan

Benjamin Disraeli

For you there was new epoch
beyond the synagogue
when in religious solemnity
you converted to Christianity.

You wanted to support
King and the Church
but you were also open
for political change.

Your trophy was not only
in your political philosophy
equal with propaganda
and your satires

on profligate oligarchy,
sectarianism, collusion,
of the Ministers
and their illustrious illusion.

Premium MemberForced Big Issue

If they are faithless and our country is mostly Catholic
stands to sense their is requirements to meet on entering reason

As schools in my town are called St Patrick's and St Bridget's
principle rules are laid down so to speak of basic requirements
to enter laid down by religious beliefs
in those presently being educated according to their parents wishes

If your not happy with our teachings from the holy doctrine
Instead your making a big fuss about discrimination lets bend the rules
where does this lead education standards for those few

Take your heathen children elsewhere
no one is forcing you to baptise your children
As it's the parents choice remember
In which direction right from wrong
their children go in the end

Us with the mark of the cross
we will not bow down or ever surrender unwisely
to this sort of sectarianism force at work attacking our culture
tearing down religious beliefs and replace it with what sin

Speech

Don't talk to me
of glittering mirages of modernization
that soon will disappear to nothingness,
nor of shimmering images of unity
that shatter to sectarianism.

Don't tell me
of floating silken threads of democracy
that disintegrate to ashes at a touch
nor of faraway glimpses of peace
that tantalize and tease my glances.

Brother when speaking,
don't talk of those dreams
that are nothing but dull
throbbing memories of our minds

Rather speak of;
ailing wailing babies
in medicineless hospitals,
moaning groaning mothers
labouring in dark labour wards.

Speak brother of
shattered battered activists
shot down on streets,
dull-eyed unwaged youths
stampeding streets.

Brother, when speaking
talk not of those things that
shall linger in my heart
but of things that wring
my heart with anguish!

Premium MemberIn Silence We'Ll Strike So Primed

Look at me now, sitting below darkening skies
Cast out from our Highland home
The Clans now is spiteful despise
To the Glens we shall head, us the fortunate to roam
Away from the Jacobite scum, for us they'll continue to comb

These clearances they declare to be right
What gives them this credence this crime
In the name of their false King, once again we'll stand and fight
Soon the loyal to Alba, shall await their very time
To infiltrate, retaliate, in silence we'll strike so primed

The days pass into weeks, nowhere can we be found
On our peripheral they search and seek us
The clever in us, disappear deep underground
You can hear their English voices searching in our lush
Foul mouthed tirades of sectarianism, voiced in hatred cuss

It's now twenty eleven, to this day it beggars belief
That I read about my fellow past Clansmen
And their greed to betray, for ripened grief
Our day is not so far away, when the true Clans men
Shall vote for total autonomy, it's just a matter of when

Doom's Day

One of the most widely spread legends
                                                 Linked directly into sectarianism
Coming from the city of Belfast
                                                                  Was 390904
                                                       Which claimed to be spelled
                                                           Backwards in a mirror
                                                                   ' No Pope'
