Swans

Swans

Shimmering in the sun,
silky skin glides pale ponds.
Secrets spoken to ears,
salty tears leave frail eyes.
Soft air swirls the boat’s sails.
Serene pictures of us,
slumbering at faint dusk.

Nibbling freely on algae
seagulls chase each other
over wet sand
along the deserted beach

A More Beautiful Shell

Some way from the Firth of Forth
A shoal of glittering mackerel
Swirls and sways
Swells with the sea from silver to black
Flashes white and back to silver and grey

A humpback whale
Juddering its leathery jaws together
With a throatful of panicked fish
For a moment it bobs in place
Then sinks down slowly again
To await its next prey

But some fish get away
Dash, dash, dash
Gannets with wingtips a-black
In fizzing copper-green dive bomb
Pinning their wings back
Weaving, spiral bubbles rising
They spear the blank-eyed fish
And paddle away

In the tidal pools by the beach
Where the tiny sea herds crawl
Hermit crabs pick at morsels
Washed up by the tide
Snipping with their pincers
To nibble mackerel tails
They ward off competitors with their giant claws

Crabby-crawl tiny sea herds
Squabble in the pools of the micro-sea
But steal when you can the more beautiful shell
Of a crab that is greater than thee.

my life divided in between seas ... desideri , tranquility

River of Hades

The somber sludge spreads forth,
swallowing every entity
in its path.

Vexed spirits burst free,
grotesque faces
all around.

This river that was once
pure and refined;
now tainted,

Now reeking of demise,
the body count is
untold.

This dismal bog has seen
it all from tin cans
to oil spills.

It once harbored life,
now it steals
your soul.

Sea Life

I'd love to live a sea life,
there's just so much to do.
It would never ever be boring,
in the deep deep ocean blue.

I could juggle with clownfish,
sunbathe with the rays,
take off with the pilot whales,
and go blading with skates

Blow balloons with the pufferfish,
play pool with a shark
go hunting with sea lions,
teach a dogfish to bark

I could strum with guitarfish,
play piano with tunas,
make jazz with a bass,
then go solo with groupers

And we'd all have sea-cucumber sandwiches for lunch,
and jellyfish for desert.

Sea Life

Sea Life

What I see is not very much, a Formica table
greasy plying cards and dirty finger nails.
It is like being stuck in a deep valley between
green waves; tomorrow will be the same and
my ignorance is as the flat map on the wall that
shows oceans and land but nothing more; in
the corner of the map is writing something
idiotic in Latin: “navigation is more important
than life. “Valparaiso and Buenos Aires names
on the map, harbour bars are the same a dirge
of empty, laud music and idle lips is what I see,
just like a Formica table greasy playing cards,
dirty finger nails; clunking fists hitting a table
in impotent triumph… and nothing more but
endless gossiping about fun last time ashore.

Livin ' By the Sea

livin’ on the beach in a hut by the sea
green grass , warm gentle breezes and all kinds of lovely trees .
I’m gonna beat the heat to make my retreat sittin by the sea
Cause its winter in the world cept livin here with me
I am happy to make your acquaintance
And i raise a glass to your health , long life and prosperity
So peace my friends and welcome to the sea
Where the music is playin’ ,the sun is shinin’, the people gentle and free
No hassles from the man and no worries will make your day go bad
Lay back and hear the music that wont be sad
The sounds will keep you cool listenin’ to the beat
The sun and the gentle warm breezes
All the pretty girls in bare feet paradin’ down the street
where livin is easy and laid back like u want life to be
Plenty food and drink for you man
To sing and dance the night away
Come down to the sea and live your life away

Sea Life

Sea life Remembered
Tropical night with extras added on like moon and stars.
I stood by the railing dreaming as the ship tilled its way
towards Jamaica, jet black sea but the transient furrow
the ship made was white; the ocean sang a sweet dirge,
and before I knew it I nearly fell overboard.

Stepped back, would anyone have heard my screams as
I swam amongst sharks and saw the ship´s lanterns fade
like dying stars? I reflected on my life wasn´t it time to
stop this infinite voyage between ports I had seen before,
harbours, which had nothing new to offer a jaded sailor?

Sat in my cabin, porthole open, I heard the mesmerizing
dirge; closed the porthole, cruelly hot the air fan giving
a sad attempt of cooling, the ship had no air conditioning.
This has to end, before I become a hollow eyed seafarer
lost on a misty island in the Saragossa Sea.

Premium Member Essential Things

Palm trees line a pathway to an alcove of cool mists and ocean spray
Where golden sand and craggy boulders display
Their ageless beauty so well defined
Where tide trundles infinitely with no decline
Rehearsing with passion its eternal song
Performing dances with the wind, as it waltzes along

Imagine stories it’d tell if it could, of life
Long before scripted words, and endless strife
Imagine plain truth not intersperse with subtle lies
No hidden agendas to beguile, no alibis
Imagine it would tell of these essential things
Of God, of life and lessons we’re still missing

Edmund's Response

" Edmund's Response "

Oh no oh no Edmund said...
When this note he then read...
I'll not wish to tell it all...
How that sea so made me fall...

Into pit of sodden despair...
Heart so rent beyond repair...
Topsy turvy life gone mad...
A'sea that life I once had...

Nay oh nay never shall be...
To speak again o'that sea...

For now my cat has seven kittens...
My wife has sewn me woolen mittens...
I tend my garden each bright day...
Here ashore I'll ever stay...

Find yourself those answers sought...
For to sea perhaps you'd ought...
That sloop again returned to shore...
Awaits just you for one voyage more...

Phuket

Phuket, along Andaman, an escape
Blue sky, life ventures, it creates
Wonderful culture, a heritage
Is life savor, simply tastiest

Cascading waterfalls, verdant forests
Ideallic appeal and fishing villages
Lies wild islands of distinctive shapes
With hidden cliffs, and saltwater lakes

Breathtaking sea and sand, affectionate
At dawn lies full gem, unexpressed
Influenced, inspired, it's timeless
Enchanting, Phuket, truly said

The Pirate's Life For Me

I starts me life as pirate,
A grommet before age twelve,
Not an ordinary bandit,
High sea adventures me delve.

With a Letter of Marque in me han’
And the Commodore for me pa!
I spends dogwatch near the helmsman,
Nerey missin’ me bonny ma.

Old salts tell their gory tales,
Aye, dogs hanging from the gallows.
Punishments for a man who fails
Floggings or keelhaul; blood bath follows.

Scrimshaw hangin’ ‘round me neck.
A privateer by trade,
Flaunting booty on the deck
We’s the scallywags brigade.

Pirateering is me heartthrob.
I dreams schemes in the crows nest.
‘bout takin’ swag from an unfortunate swab.
I sits watchin’ pa from the crest.

Long nines aimed and ready,
Jolly Roger on the mainmast,
Headway fast and steady,
The enemy’s fate forecast.

One for all and all for one!
Drinkin’ grog an’ eatin’ grub.
Werkin’ on the “Morning Sun”
Me father at the hub.

Davy Jone’s locker, me final plight!
Death drifting in me beloved sea –
Straightway from the dark of night
The pirate’s life for me!

Sea Life

I dreamt of love washing upon my shore,
and one day it was there no work just fate.
Desire to build the love wanted more,
but erosion via waves love did bait.

I fought to stem tide as it grew tall,
my sword aloft I swung at its advances.
My brain said we could run away at from it all,
my heart stood sill as dreams spun dances.

The sweat the tears cleared like a forest glade,
to show for the battle I had my spade.
The scars still holy with feelings as waves,
but time digs deep and they push and fade.

Love no longer will wash this beach,
as old as dead fellings no longer will claw.
Detatched from sea air carries real peace,
no direction true love has no flaw.
