We all know that feeling. The one that we don’t want to end. The one that’s so satisfying it’s intoxicating. It starts subtle. Sometimes, it involves thoughts. Thoughts you wouldn’t dare share with anyone. It grows through your entire body, screaming and scratching through every single nerve ending. It spreads slowly, burning down every narrow passage and every inch of your skin. Your entire body is on fire. You feel it growing and growing as you inch towards your finale. It bubbles up, boiling to the top until it overflows. It flows over the edge, violently and satisfyingly. It flows and flows, releasing every tension in your body. The release is the greatest feeling, toxic, infuriating, invigorating, and all so inviting, making you want to feel this feeling all over again… The Release.

my cigarette carton smells like gum
like my mothers bag when i was young.
the cicadas are hidden in the bushes
as if surrounded by the dwell of freedom
which follow me throughout the country.
i prefer the houses far from me
and the floor boards wooden
as the dust that collects is far better than the glass floors that collect crust.
does whispering reveal to me the hidden truth?
then does yelling over the loud thumping music inform me of everything i wished to know about you?
sometimes i wish i didn’t
then you’d save me the trouble of having to find a new you.
you never cared to know me as i did you.
you hurt others because they hurt you
you cheat others because cheating is a rush for you.
you’d made me feel special because life was not so simple for you.
it hurt me at first but i won’t hold it against you.
if you ever truly cared, you’d know
i see things you don’t see
feel things you will never feel
experience life in ways you would despise
but that’s okay.
i live my life in my own way
and i’d hoped your way is desperately despicable
as my life is satisfyingly simple.

The poems I never wrote are exquisite
Deep clear pools that reflect and reveal their readers
Nuanced and subtle, full of symbols and hidden meaning
Peeling back new layers upon each return
The poems I never wrote are bestsellers
Attenborough voiceovers and roadhouse storytellers
On bedside tables, dog-eared and marked up
The subject of disagreements over coffee house scones
The poems I never wrote are a perfect sigh
Lyrical, rolling off the tongue, effortless as breathing
Resolved with delight on the final line
Lacking nothing, possessed of no excess
The poems I never wrote are an enigma
An unanswered question desirous of much
A doorway into a new world fraught with possibility
Mysterious and unresolved, yet satisfyingly so
This is not one of those

My eyes are but orbs of their former selves.
How am I seeing?
What do I smell?
Is it blood?
Dracula’s or my own?
He clutches me and ravishes me.
It is satisfyingly delicious.
A wolf howls.
Wait.
Is that me?
Oooooooh! Oooooooh!
I am shameless.
A wench desiring her demon lover.
The howling continues.
Dracula rears back his face and stares at me.
We are both delighted.
It is more than enough.
More a big death than a little death.
He continues to feed.
I tingle from my orbs to my skele-toes.
Halloween came exactly in time this year.

You are far away from me,
But don't worry you always belong to me.
When we were kids we often played together,
Now we are apart but suffering together.
I remember, the first time we met,
We shake hands & it felt like we always met.
That day I was not nervous that much,
But our next meeting set my heart on fire so much.
We had started talking happily,
Everyone except me decided our relation easily.
Then I started avoiding you lightly,
But in mind you were my future slightly.
One day we had a fight,
You apologize asking " Are you alright ?"
That day I understand your feelings,
And decided not to face any dealings.
Even after 6 years of love,
You are still like a silent dove.
We haven't meet satisfyingly till now,
But I know we will keep loving each other anyhow.
I just want you to say " You are mine,
And I'll wait till you shine".
I don't want you as a brightest start of world,
I just want you as a part around which my life Swirled.

My last poem will be a humdinger, will include
a hummingbird in a ruby throated cowl
sipping satisfyingly in Caren’s Krutsinger’s
faerie garden - we’ll be sipping tea or something
stronger. Our muses are quite old by then,
and surely friends. One’s feigning on a daffodil.
The other’s wrinkling her teeny eyes - a scowl.
Instead of Chris Green’s good morning verse,
mine will say farewell to friends. I don’t think
I could cut it short as a monoku but if I’m going
fast I might need to be brief. Perhaps I’d be
silent, as a lightning bug on a Summer’s day —
I’d have to have my mouth
wired shut, my hands in casts (they’d talk too)
I might say, “toodle-loo,” or “ta-ta,” if not too trite.
I’d turn out the stars and the moon, say, “good night.”

Mum, The Financial Advisor
‘You are the tea leaves I am the teapot, I the tiny snowflake and you the snow’
Thus sets the stage of similarities and whatnot, lighting the mood for the afterglow,
The morning after, we see what had been taught, not much but the status quo,
You are the cream and sugar, I am the coffee, I the beehive and you the honey,
Taste has sweetened, well-brewed and lofty, firm prospect meaning money,
More meaningful, and the setting more warmly, gainfully significant and carefree,
Ergo, breakfast entertains calmly and promptly, ending in a financial apogee,
Good morning moments, familial time, satisfyingly, and a future that was meant to be.

FRUSTRATED
Overly religious
Somewhat contagious
Satisfyingly together
Representing the Father
I tried and I tried
But they just kept on lying
I tried and I tried
And I said to myself, what is it all for
The beauty of it all
Is that we (none) of us has to fall
And I just received the call
Don’t hang up it’s from God
I tried and I tried
And I said to myself, what is it all for
I tried and I tried
But they just kept on lying
They sin and they have sinned
The people keep on dying
I must apologize for the wrongs I’ve done Lord;
I repent and recognize that you are glorified
And you died for all of my sins
No longer I’m I reprobate
And I am not a longer frustrated

HASTILY HIDING WISELY WAITING
Flying fish are really gliding, gracefully so.
Frantically, from so many predatory piranhas.
Silkily, sliding into the most fearsome fray!
Hastily hiding, in very thick growing, sightly sedges.
Wisely waiting until the predators pass.
Satisfyingly safe, start to safely fly feeding.
Dusk darkening, welcoming much needed silent sleep.

Amidst the Barbaric heathen hordes
Mordacious majesty’s scrofulous swords
Corroding cathedrals in the morning mist
Rampageous residuals that we must resist
In the valleys of darkness, my soul savors still
For the bloodstained moon begins her spill
The ruffled red rains down upon the tombstones
As the Kings and Queens sit upon their thrones
The lecherous Lords satisfyingly seduce
The mawkish women that are on the loose
Marauding minstrels that strangle the streets
In the valley of shadows where the darkness meets.

Love's Like Sugar Cane
Tender tendrils
of the same vine,
we entwine
with hearts a fluttering,
beating ecstatically as one,
floating on wings
of iridescent butterflies,
satisfyingly satiated by
love juices squeezed from an
orange, bright summer day.
Cherry blossom kisses
from pink juicy lips,
sprouting silky petals
that pucker and quiver,
anticipating warm, tropical,
sugar cane, sweet licks.
Blissfully drunk with love,
we sip and dip
into the golden syrupy
ocean of us.

Silken skies surround
Secure sailing sloop
Skimming Sargasso sea
Seeking salmon, sturgeon,
Shrimp, scallops;
Several savory species.
Suddenly stampeding storm
Surrounded, struck swiftly
Skies striking, slashing,
Savage surly seas.
Skipper sighted shoals,
Slammed, sending seamen
Swaying, scrambling, scurrying.
Swift southerly swells,
Sending struggling schooner
Smashed somewhere sandy shores.
Seamen survived swimming,
Suddenly savage screams,
Strange sensations, sounds
Seldom saw such sights,
Surrounding sassy Sasquatch.
Savagely slashed sailor,
Satisfyingly strange supper
Sasquatch slurping sailor soup,
Savory sauce, stew.
