Rain Did Run Down Street
Saw rain as it would run down the street;
Knew that you and I did eventually meet;
Saw TV screen;
Such a sceen;
Trump was a real moron for you to greet.
Jim Horn
When you run down the wrong road
You are bound to run into a dead end
It is not too late to turn it all around
Find your way back towards the light my friend
Do not hide in the shadows
For they will deter your progress
Always lift yourself upward
In order to seek your happiness
Tears run down in Texas where a water hole ran dry
Where a coyote stares and lingers, seems to wonder why.
A memory was born near here when first was fanned the flame
A memory was born near here when first I spoke her name
Tears run down in Texas for the lovers 'neath the stars
They share their dreams together 'tween Jupiter and Mars
Perhaps those dreams they'll realize, who can say for sure
Ours have faded long ago, but memories are pure
Tears run down in Texas where music still plays for those
Who loved and lost but still recall that first Texas rose
When memories of who we were bring a gentle sigh
Like the coyote we stare, linger, seem to wonder why

For Contest Three Stanzas - Three Only
DAMN it, you stupid old fart!
Why did you pull out THAT cart?
That cart with the wobbly front wheel
And it squeaks! (How embarrassed I feel)
Oops! Beg your pardon sweet ma'am
Yes, I know who I think that I am
(Crash) Oh good god mercy me
"CLEAN-UP ON AISLE NUMBER THREE"
Tears run down our face
Shots ring though your ears, through streets
Blood runs down your hands
I’m run down and feeling blue
As my heart is sinking
With heavy thoughts of you
I’m run down and bleeding inside
Flooded with mixed emotions that won’t subside
I’m confused with unanswered questions
Perhaps this is one of life’s unexpected lessons
.
I’m run down and feeling trapped
Lost inside my own map
Make me a path to your direction
As I will take it with full discretion
I’m run down and nowhere to go
Following my heart is all I know
I want you to set me free
But my heart wants you with me.
