Tears Run Down In Texas
Tears run down in Texas where a water hole ran dry
Where a coyote stares and lingers, seems to wonder why.
A memory was born near here when first was fanned the flame
A memory was born near here when first I spoke her name
Tears run down in Texas for the lovers 'neath the stars
They share their dreams together 'tween Jupiter and Mars
Perhaps those dreams they'll realize, who can say for sure
Ours have faded long ago, but memories are pure
Tears run down in Texas where music still plays for those
Who loved and lost but still recall that first Texas rose
When memories of who we were bring a gentle sigh
Like the coyote we stare, linger, seem to wonder why
