Premium MemberThrough Three Seasons With You

We met each other in the midst of summer.
Our hearts slowly became closer and closer.
We realized within past three months' time
Our minds see what we have is so sublime.

We first met each other mentally online,
Our hearts recognized how we are divine.
We reciprocated feelings of longing, craving.
Our minds filled with thoughts so loving.

We will spend this year's autumn together.
Our hearts' infatuation becoming deeper.
We'll soothe each other whenever we weep.
Our minds see through each other so deep.

We will see if we shall last past the winter.
Our hearts making our love all the stronger.
We'll hug one last time if you have to leave.
Our minds need to have faith and believe.

I love you

Summer never stood a chance
against us, when even
in the still air our hearts flutter—

There will always be thunder
and rain, you said.
But in being in love with you
—It’s a slow dance, you and I
in crystal air, rain or clear,
under blankets of stars—

In your eyes there are
sparks only love can light,
softness only love can touch.
A lifetime worth of words—and more,
but they can wait, I want to
blend your touch into my ink first.

You asked why I fall.
But I didn’t—
I saw you, and I jumped.

Premium MemberWelcome To The Serenity Sail

Outside in the barn one late summer eve
a seaman toiled until wee hours of night
Solid rock surrounded by wood and nail
just the right size for "The Serenity Sail"
She lit an old candle by the window,
recalling sweetly their brave adventures
Back in the days when they were young
water was life and love was pure gold;

Over by the lawn an old weathered sailboat
sat waiting, for one more vigorous glide
"Lets take her out " he said as he toiled,
curving the wood and tapering to a point.
That night they slept in the boat like kids,
huddled under a blanket stitched with stars.
Tasting the ocean on her lips he sighed,
"Join me !" he said as she giggled, awhile.

Blinding Love

I wanna feel that blinding love, The one you'd live for
The one which feels like sunshine and rain on your face.
The one that feels like the first leaves of the fall.
I wanna witness the summer of love with, sweet voice notes, long hugs and late night shenanigans.
Ballroom dancing in the middle of a crowded street
Moments of laughing but most importantly, just  loving.
A Love, that is straight out of a Cartland novel,
where the hero has it all
And then there's a picky princess who goes down for her only strength.
You know the kind of love poets write about, artists paint, musicians compose and singers sing
The one you see in the eyes and smiles,
in rainbows and the midnight skies
In a theatre or in an instagram reel
I wanna feel it all.
The epic, passionate love that lovers die for.

Premium MemberSilent Glances

Jazzy nights filled with romance
                      and glassy dreams !
Buildings lit beneath a sleepy sky
             of smudge coal gray

His hand gently placed in mine,
a breath away from me
he sits,
sailor of my fantasies, ardor of my beating heart...

A sailboat retires for the night
on the dock over quiet waters
inside the cafe, music plays softly
                                    like sensual summer winds
He gifts me a smile,
                                       and stars appear,
                                sending light into mine !

Velvet time, layered moments
                 filled with enfolding bliss

                        We share one kiss !

Truth be told,
he is the soulmate I longed for all my life
I am lost in love's hammock,
                        rocked by his slow candor,
I feel loved, clothed in fleece...

Jazzy nights filled with perfume
                               and a budding slow romance
The saxophone plays on ....
we speaking softly to each other,
                               through silent glances.

Premium MemberA Carnival Night of First Love

On a warm summer evening
we are pinned together on the octopus ride,
twirling with excited pleasure.
Even the breeze we swirl through
cannot cool us down,
for the passion of new love
consumes us.

We browse along the Midway,
and he buys for me spun sugar on a stick.
Later we sit buckled in on the seat
of a huge lit-up ferris wheel.
It circles round and round as we swing our legs
while surveying the bustling gleeful folk below.
I shiver with a fever
of anticipation.

At the pinnacle of our last go-around
on this gigantic wheel,
the ride hovers there in the cooling night air.
The stars above us seem to be dancing with delight.
He leans over and his lips meet mine.
I taste the sweetness of cotton candy
and melt into our first kiss,
never wanting again to come back down
to earth.

Let Me Yearn

(summer 2024)

I want a love that is pure, beautiful and made for me.
I want them to be poetic to me in a way that I am smitten.
God, I yearn for my person to come toward me.
It hurts to wait and still feel stuck.
How do I keep moving forward when I have feelings like this ???
When will someone see my worth and want to NEVER leave my side? Please don’t leave my side.
They say being with someone ur in love with isn’t everything
but how can they say that when in my heart, I want to be held and have a best friend.
I want to experience a relationship that is healthy and comforting.
Where is my best friend? What other lessons do I need to go through before I meet them ???
I feel like crying, God please comfort me.
Help me God help me with these feelings that you can understand.
Will I be okay tomorrow ???
When will we finally cross paths…

Summer's End

Burning like fever in the spring
our love affair was on the wing
then drifted away on the summer wind
now I'm thinking of you
how good it used to be
holding on to precious memories
and every teardrop has a tale to tell
every teardrop fills a wishing well
changing like autumn leaves that fall
your love it comes and goes
then melts away with the winter snows
and I'm dreaming of you
things we used to do
holding out for those eyes of blue
and every teardrop it blinds reminds
every little teardrop brings me back to you
would that I could
say the words to mend
the heartache heartbreak
of this summer's end

Years Ago

Looking back on my younger days
and in that summer haze
you were the pearl my girl
in my oyster the whole wide world
so many memories
of you me and how we used to be
but of photographs far too few
altho' we did have a laugh a two
now all growing dim and grey
with the fading shades of day
etched in my memory for good
our trips to sunny Spain
and when we went
for a walk in the woods
on the way to the Isle of Wight
the night we were caught
in the freezing rain
no I'm not living in the past
and yet I'll raise a glass
to each and every single day
from over the hills and far away

Charcoal face

To win her whole heart was my sole goal,
In summer, I tanned just for her soul.
I sunbathed at Lagos Beach,
A Black there to woo a peach,
My face is now blacker than charcoal.

amongst the excitement of nature's bounty
summer beckons and a feast awaits
whilst the sun sets the stage for two lovers

Romantic Love

refresh and fresh fruits
summer breeze after sunset
lovers summer nights
bright neat so blue stars up there
overhearty love is here

Same spirit, different bodies

What were the chances?
Even if just one percent,
I would redo the calculations,
Till my body turns to ashes.

The times we spent together—
Were the ones that made me fall in love with existance, with you.
Even when we're not on good terms,
If the universe gave me another chance,
I would.
However things aren't the same,
Like seasons,
The summer left and winter arrived—
The cold breeze was enough to make me realize.

Your smile—
Echoed in my brain like a prayer,
Rewriting the mistakes I did,
Making it easier to breathe.

Love of my life, you were.
If asked now—you are.
Same spirit different bodies—
We were nature's beauty,
Now ruined by human desire.

Fate turned her back on me—
And you, followed the light.

Summer Rains

The summer rains they came today
washing winter woes away
seems so long since they were here
welcome back old friend to near and dear
memories awakened from the sky
with the petrichor of years gone by
precipitating dreams of lazy days
illuminating sunbeams in a haze
which full-circle brought me back to you
and the fun things we used to do
walking on weekends in the park
looking like bookends on a bench after dark
sun-drenched rain-soaked anyhow
but where in the world are we now
