Life’s Repetition of rinse and repeat:
Saga, the odyssey
lies
And deceit.
Juliet’s drowning upon daggers blade in
Response to a Romeo’s lethal swallow.
The need be not the chasing down of serpentine sleuthing out the whys they bit you..
But the how so to heal oneself from poisons onset.
Cause the effect.
Effect the cause.
Alterations of souls allegiances.
Whom wages the war upon one’s self
Loses all in either outcome.
Close the gate,
Button down the hatches
Night draws near.
Light the lamps for shadows creep.
Let illumination run deep..
Burn out yesterday’s fabled ways.
Upon pages of white begin anew.
“Lord what fools these mortals be”
This said by Shakespeare and not by me.
Instead mirror thought of phrase as “idiocracy pains the existence of man”.
Overcome..undone
Underwhelmed..overburdened.
Buried in minds sea
Drowning in muddy thoughts.

i pivot between
the unknown, and i know not what
life has left me dangling
from my mind
uncertainty mocks
my every foothold
reality teases me
then shrugs off its own beliefs
I am disillusioned by wisdom,
made foolish by every thought
I cling to a arabesque
masquerading as a mystic dance
yet
let me spin on
for somewhere ahead
i hope
a stop sign
will slow this dream down

Mind – a pool, deep and arcane,
Needs to be cleared n' cleansed from time to time
In the sinuous course of life,
Pause awhile to peer into the depths.
Over the still waters, lies a layer of scum.
At the bottom is settled,
Toxic sediments of hate,
The residue of burnt dreams
Of unsavory passions
If unattended, in this slushy mass of filth
Maggots may breed,
Eating into the flesh
Poisoning the vital serum
Pumped through the veins
Purge the dross
Flush out the dirt
Rinse it clean
And feast on the sparkle,
Of clear waters
Springing from the well heads of love!

The clothes in the washing machine, I now pondered
how I might best pass the time, and so I wandered
up a muddy hill, late to perceive I’d squandered
my time, for now my jeans needed to be laundered.

You wish to soon see the prince
But your coat you did not rinse.
Prince might pick its stink and wince.
You don’t such add to your sins.
You still want to meet the prince?
John’s has been paining him since
Now, it’s prayers for a means
To dump his likes in dust bins …
Or, perhaps, your hopes his wink,
After nose had snatched the stink?
I swear, you to john he’d link!

Rinse and Repeat
David J Walker
As the Sun goes up
Some go down
Some rise up
And some lie down
Shine them shoes boy
Clean that gun
Count our dead
When the day is done
Rinse and repeat
Rinse and repeat
Rinse and repeat
And cry RETREAT
But there is no going back
I’ve tried

So, we get trenched into this sniper’s ground?
Round after round after round after round.
So, we get put here to fight someone’s war?
Man after man after man after man.
So, we breath gun smoke and the rotting human corpse?
Night after day after day after night after night after day.
So, we must run and fire into no man’s land?
Bang after bang after bang after bang.
So, we must kill for what is must?
Death after death after death after death.
So, we must fight and die to end all wars?
War after war after war after war after war after war after war after war.

I have trained my whole adulthood for the challenge of this day.
The toil and sweat and sacrifice, the monotony of drill,
All those years of manning up to my ambition.
I have wrestled the beast and disciplined my will.
I mean to vanquish my opponent for the golden prize
I'll enter the ring and trust my luck to fate.
I have trained my whole adulthood for the challenge of this day.
When I rise again come dawn, I will reiterate.

My mind is politically correct,
but my shoes have no soul.
I have gained some retrospect,
after losing self control.
I’m washing my brain.
A clean slate is what I need.
Reprogramming my frame,
rinse and repeat.

RINSE AND REPEAT
the wall of my shower stumbles up stairs
as he sings: “shower time”
his feet caught him unaware
and the Laurel to his Hardy
follows, with a folded ladder
I duck twice...to the left, to the right
“thanks for showering me with laughs,”
I jest, as I warn, that a poet captures
the mind’s snapshot and adds
it to her faux pas poetry collection.
