Rhoda and Her Smile

One fine thing about Rhoda was her smile:
She had ways of taking it to a mile,
Its richness as unfading as ever;
So seraphic with her glass of Eva
One could not her link with widow,
Her smiles doing the good job of shadow…

Smiles with a skill of checking abrupt tears
And she trusted would not unveil new fears:
Really, Rhoda should be paying her smiles
A monthly sum for hundred marble tiles.
Who’d ever sense her man had hated her
And to him had meant needles of a fir?

Rhoda Goes For Soda

Not too fat is Young Fair Rhoda
But she is fighting it with soda:
Rhoda not with the screaming width
Of Next - Door Neighbor Miss Judith
Now it's " Don't ever try Apple,
Let alone twice eat pineapple..."

Something that Seller Margaret
Had begun to nicely regret
And round pace like Cattle Egret
To Rhoda "No more Good Morning!"
Over someone else keep fawning...

"Dark Rhoda wants to be pageant
But no purse for bleaching Reagent"

Life According To Rhoda

Social issues elevate politics into the ring,
Whilst a loving family frees your interest thing,
But all people need the state and NHS,
Which step in to assist when life is less.

But everything deepends much upon legislation,
The law, its acts and clauses are foundation,
Its wordings either narrow you into a lark,
Or respect your essence and dignity in hark.

If you are the storyteller expected to win,
The ear of the great who accounts for your sin,
Your module is no problem to your friends,
Or to your colleague who her hand to you extends.

Premium Member Thanks To Rhoda

Rhoda gave me a gift
She gave my spirit a lift

But at her hurt or dismay
This act came into play

Rhoda gave me membership
As she was leaving the ship

I do not know why she left
She said it was complicated I'm bereft

My gain and her loss
A gift at a great cost

Rhoda In the Sky With Diamonds

i see you in lavender
bathed in my kisses
i look for my Mrs
and look to the sky

something then beacons me
i answer quite slowly
the girl in pajamas
is asking me why

hills never end
where does ocean begin
and pillows lay down
when we sigh

where is the truth
when we dream in our youth
and hope for the best
and besides

where in our sin does sin stop pretending
and offer the reason why
why is the truth of no longer good use
when love is the reason why

Rhoda Not Rhonda

Rhoda not Rhonda
like the Rhoda from Mary Tyler Moore
but even more like Rhoda from "Rhoda"

"Who's Rhoda Rhoda Poem?"
NO! i said; Rhoda wrote a poem
"Rhoda Rhoda Poem. that's catchie"
never mind

Dear Rhoda Part 2

As I said- L.I. was home to me up until about a year ago, when I made the
(oopps) mistake of moving upstate, near Poughkeepsie (Wappinger Falls, which
I call Foppinger Walls).... It is soooo boring!! No wonder I'm posting poetry 20
hours a day..... By the way, I'd never heard of Long Island Iced Tea till I went to
Arizona a few years ago. Talk about puttin' starch in your socks!! regards Tom

Dear Rhoda

Long Island- my old home. Thanks for the words. tom bell
