Twilight was the time of day
as well they do concur
about the hour of crepuscular dusk
or evening if you prefer
there in the gloaming
altho' the light was slightly dimmer
I took a look at the situation
and saw more than quite a glimmer
of absolute absurdity the altercation confrontation
as if every nation were to follow the Law
of Exact Retaliation an

The Axe Grinder

He hones his purpose on a stone whet of spite,
Edge kissed to gleam in the dead of night.
Relentless is the echo tuned to hindsight.
Endless in the knowing his cause is right.

His grip is firm, his whetstone flat.
His purpose honed to revenge in tit-for-tat.
The axe grinder, can't ever get over that.
Old grudges are ground in, with

retribution reveille

justice casts a shadow
telling the time on a sundial
echoing retribution
to come when power play
shifts to reverse

The Retribution

In life, revenge most of the time 
Doesnt come quickly
Or the next day 
Or the next month 
Or next year 
But when it comes
It comes and live with you 
In your entire life.

Retribution Is Coming

In shadows lurk 
The whispers dire
Retribution 
Fuels the fire
With echoes 
Of his past in tow
A storm approaches
Winds will blow

Changing Ends

The gravedigger’s spade shall dig and not waver
Theres gossip abroad and it’s gossip to savour
Four dozen worms that were once many more
Awaited the man they’d encountered before

It wasn’t just blackbirds that liked a good worm
This man’s midnight footsteps would make them all squirm
It wasn’t allowed but the soil was just right
So he would sneak in

Everything that you do
Is permissible, but not
All are rewarding.

the vanquished were mocked
humiliated
their graves were unmarked
memory erased

that day space was scarred
it wept silently
time too held its breath 
in stench of decay

womb of Mother Earth 
became infertile
Schumann’s resonance
dropped its frequency

the sun dimmed its light
moonlight became grey
birds no longer sang
with doomsday looming

My New Year’s resolution?
I require your money and votes,
for you are my retribution.

May I offer you dark-skinned scapegoats
and bigger and deeper moats
as part of my sweet resolution?

Please consider a YUGE contribution,
a mountain of lovely C-notes,
for you are my retribution.

Revenge is our only solution,

Sinner's Retribution

Hands clasped, eyes closed
Future’s dim, stories untold
Awaiting the ember flame 
brimming with toiling shame

Pleading for a broken retribution
Grasping for my long, lost salvation

What have I done?
Where have I gone?
I’ve lost my way under the guiding sun
Blemished sins that I hadn’t shun

Once more basking in this credence of light
Hoping that I don’t get lost again in

Learning From Loss

The hardest losses
are those too late to repair
what has been win/win time lost
to despair

Just as love
cannot co-arise
where fear grows 
fully uprisen
a prison
predicting anger's nearby
impetuously apprised
surprise.

So too,
Freedom cannot thrive
where addiction has hard helped
us feel we are not  softly worthy
to survive

"Loser" labelled struggles
with addiction
cannot feel free of affliction
nor can giving in
to addiction's short-term affections,
powers to feel

Retribution

You shall always think of me.
You shall soon see
How you went about it all wrongly,
As well as how you wronged me.

You shall always think of me.
You shall soon see
How I much rather things be,
And how it will benefit both you and me.

In the Fires of Retribution

Our final hour draws near
As the pillars of the earth
Are raised above the threshold
The human condition of primeval primitivity
It's tribal, and civilized devices
Our cherished, but brittle
and unstable societal constructs
Have been refined and pondered upon
By wisemen for a millennia
But they remain all the same
of gold and jewel hoarding merchant swine
Or the Lord of the land which

Into the Flames is where your soul will remain
The book of Life thirsts for God's pen of judgement and smite
Can't erase it even if you thought forgetting would please Him

Thief of Trust Dishonesty Seething

The only thing I hate more than unintelligence
Is a bold-faced liar that thinks they blend amongst friends
Using weakenesses as weapons falsely condescending contention
Crashing house of cards paper tiger denys a correction
Even knowing that they face something beyond profound
This game they play only works on what is gained and not found
So when real life hits it
