Seeketh the Prey

Pray for redemption, will you?
Cry, cry your blackened tears.
Knee bends and splits in stony
supplication.

Pray for deliverance, will you?
Sculpt your catalogue of sin.
A history of misery that has twisted
hearts and corrupted innocence.

Pray for sanctity, will you?
Hands intertwine between prison bars.
Iron cuffs link wrist to cold confinement
and solid perpetuity.

Pray for salvation, will you?
Inhale fuel baptism.
Eye, ear and mouth sear as devoted
regrets ripple from blistered lips.

Pray for purification, will you?
Swallow burning match.
Life explodes into cleansing flame.
Melt down to fiber, layer by layer.

Pray for resurrection, will you?
Angels will not weep, scream or mourn.
Even God will turn away as he understands
that where the slain are, there is me.
