"War and Peace in the Days of Love’s Retribution"
All is fair
in Love and War
they say
Lost are the
gambling angels
who walk tight ropes
from the point
where time departed
the jewel stolen from her crown
sacrificed for
something better
a child’s happiness
another fallen
goddess
tripping between
the cracks
pinned to a wall
in a sunless place
where light tries
but fails dismally to get in
suspended heart’s arrow
caught forever bleeding
in betrayal’s
sticky web
Failure’s warrior
wanting a sword for
cutting tongues
War and Peace
lost and found
unconditional
In the time
of unjust justice
follows freedom
wearing a new light
darkly burning in
the time of Love’s retribution

"“Once I was brave
enough
to leave home,
I discovered
splendid parts of me
I had no clue existed.
I, then,
realized
where they came from
and hurried home.”
A prayer is like seduction to your soul
Your church is the glamour the world bestowals
Your bible is the flashy neon lights and billboards
Your truth is the multiplicity of greedy
Your salvation is fruition of materialism
Your retribution is its finitude and lost satiety
Heaven becomes invisible through the eye of a needle
It was kind of nice having money all the
Time.
Looking back when I was seventeen,
I looked forward to going to work.
It is unlike what I feel about work now.
I did a lot of reading as a child.
I read all kinds of books.
I would consider Oak Lawn a safe
Community then.
I can’t remember any times when I got beat up.
I did a lot of running home and telling.
I avoided a lot of suffering by talking to
My parents about the bullies.
It wasn’t until junior high that I had to
Take care of a fight that went way wrong.
I was scared to death of a seventh grader.
I fought him, and found out he wanted to
Wrestle.
I wasn’t that good of a
Wrestler then.
I got better
In high school.
It was kind of chaotic, and the wrestling matches
Were more “fighting” than wrestling.
I hung in school and made a name for myself
At Oak Lawn Community High School.
My sister gave me a collection of albums
My junior year.
I was introduced to all kinds of music by
Those.
My first good introduction to music came
My sophomore year.
A friend introduced me to “The Police” with
“Zenyatta Mondatta” and “Ghost in
The Machine”.
He told me what he did at his party
In eighth grade.
They sat around and played Gin.
They drank soda.
They went bowling.
I got off to a late start with music,
And I finally caught up with my tape-
Radio I got for Christmas my junior year.
I could have had a big party,
But I decided to wait.
I didn’t really have one except
The one’s I had in grammar school.
My friend thought he was going to
Get married to this one girl at O.L.C.H.S.
It fizzled out like my relationship did.
That girl liked someone else though.
I should have given up calling her,
It was no fun talking to her.
She didn’t talk to me at all in school.
I’m not sure she even knew who I was
In lunch.
I didn’t have anymore classes with her.
Her boyfriend went out for basketball
Like I should have done. I was pretty good. Maybe just
Doing my chess and studying was the best thing for me to do.
The poisoning of Mother Earth, untold suffering upon the children of Man will cast!

Retribution Is Not My Dog
Retribution is not my dog
No bone- no contrition
just another child who does
not listen or pay attention
karma please let um slide
i really ain't mad ...
life has beat um down enough
please karma let um slide.
Karma excuse my soft heart.
Retribution ain't always worth
the worry that it causes.
Forgive my spiteful child.
May a mother's mind intercede.?
Spare them the painful warts.
I love them enough to ask this of you
when they hurt i hurt too,
there is no win, win situation.
Just more reaping of the whirl wind
Let that negativity that
they have set in motion
be tossed into the mighty sea.
Let the salt of forgiveness
wash, and toss away
their lies and thievery.
Karma please, on my knees
I pray forgive them all.
Spare all who have trust-passed
against my good-kind deeds.
Because I love them anyway.

Life can cause us pain.
The chapters of life vary.
There are lessons here.
No one escapes them.
Every challenge teaches us
Where to start again.
Our childhood lives on,
We rebel and we resist.
Change is not easy.
Mistakes remind us
Of momentary lapses,
We have created.
Life provides balance.
There are highs and there are lows,
But joy does exist.
Keeping our focus
Demands a steady heartbeat,
Keeping us alive.
Redeeming arms reach,
Touching us at finger tips.
Safe retribution.
The cardinal shattered the chalice
with blood of his former god and
the men garbed in tainted white
glorified their new Son
sheer roars, juddering
holes in riot
meet your god
'neath your
feet!

So much has changed
Looking searching high and low but it slipped away
Why can't I find it
Is it under the witness protection listed under a different name
I remember dreaming at night about how things would be mundane and cascade its way in to the plane in
which the soaring was placed
Where did you go
Why cant you be easy to find like waldo
But no
That wouldn't be life
That would be a theater seen at the back of our eyes at night
Hold on I'm coming
Might not be on a horse of white and armor glistening off light
But I'm coming
Maybe bruised battered and hungry
Maybe scarred bloody and mangled
White knuckled from the obstacles
Half blind in my opticals
Running from causes that are probable
Holes imbedded through ligaments and parts of my digestion
T-shirt wrapped around wounds pressing
Hair gray from stressing and a shell shocked tick like terrets and
Collar bone exposed knee caps blown
Sticking outta my back arrows throat closed narrow
With my tongue dried up looking like bone marrow
Hollering to a bellow
Smashing watermelon pumpkins and mangos
I will find you
Love of my life I will find you
God hasn't blessed me with this heart to blow this too
If he can strengthen this sinner
an ordinary dude
Then this too he will allow me to do.....Peace
Her sneezes didn't prevent her and John Deere from seeking vengeance...
leaving a carnage of dead grass and strewn tissues in her wake

Sorrow, suffering and karma are
How life’s lessons are learned
And through them in the end,
For the better our lives are turned.
And though during retribution,
We don’t understand the pain
Each and everyone of us
Get through it all the same.
So when your life turns upside down
And your very being is confused
Look at the laws of karma and
See how they are used.
It may not be a pretty picture
That in which you see
But, bravely face the truth
Of your self-imposed reality.
No, it’s not always easy
To keep on keeping on
But somehow, someway
Right must be made out of wrong.
And when it’s finally over and
In retrospect, you look-
You’ll be forever grateful
For the lessons you mistook.
Retribution is not my dog
No bone- no contrition
just another child
who does not listen
nor pay attention.

The table was running with ale,
The wizard was starting his tale.
The barley-drunk swordsmen slouched near,
And tore at some dry hunks of bread,
And scowled as the sorcerer said:
“Come close and listen and fear—“
But they only glared at their beer.
Their leader unslung his long blade,
Said “You’re the one should be afraid,”
And severed a head that went thud!
The story remained never told,
The warriors pushed north in the cold,
Next Spring, they’re found frozen in mud,
Their hair matted, smeared with black blood.
The other day I overheard
Two woman's slanderous chatter
About another nameless soul
Who’s fortunate absence, thank god,
Spared her their injurious libel.
I thought to myself, if I had
A petty wish that would come true
I’d long for swift retribution
For malicious people like them
To receive involuntary
Volition at their own expense
By socking themselves in the face.
I wonder how many lost teeth
It would take to learn the lesson?
A lesson forsooth
Is oftentimes difficult:
Like losing a tooth
The hardest losses
are those too late to repair
what has been win/win time lost
to despair
Just as love
cannot co-arise
where fear grows
fully uprisen
a prison
predicting anger's nearby
impetuously apprised
surprise.
So too,
Freedom cannot thrive
where addiction has hard helped
us feel we are not softly worthy
to survive
"Loser" labelled struggles
with addiction
cannot feel free of affliction
nor can giving in
to addiction's short-term affections,
powers to feel escape

and communal,
economic
and political,
monocultural
and monotheistic

The only thing I hate more than unintelligence
Is a bold-faced liar that thinks they blend amongst friends
Using weakenesses as weapons falsely condescending contention
Crashing house of cards paper tiger denys a correction
Even knowing that they face something beyond profound
This game they play only works on what is gained and not found
So when real life hits it leaves them with a lie to undo
But I saw you even though it ceased I just can't let it be true
Nothing personal but you deny that we are both foes
In battle fought with intellect you can't deny I won't lose
And this certainty it scares you to the core you recluse
Like a coward you back out acting as if nothing ensued
But we both know your true face lacks a backbone to stand it
And that something is why I prevail locking door sealing in madness
Coping mechanism feeds demons that just hand over rope
Slithered navigating life upon fissure ridden slippery slope
Had it coming you just didn't know it came with account
Now you're seeing and believing left without not a doubt
