I am well spotted and nasty and do not mind that description

Will gather my fortune whatever is your inappropriate depiction

Dig my teeth into your body and soul straight down to the bone

Leave my scent on your remains with a well-executed stepping stone

Once we hunted together and I took your lead and compassion

Now I chose to digest you in the most vicious contemptible fashion

Watch the smile in my fangs cutting deep into blood and intestine

Straight in the open with no secrets nor lies or honesty clandestine

A hyena must live up to her promise of laughing when stressed

Revenge and retribution is delivered with vengeance at best

Hurt is written on my posture and demeanour when I tear into carrion

I am the epitome of self-righteousness so please don’t call me vulgarian

When I stand upright above your decay you will fall on my sword

As a reward for finding me repulsive now but once had me adored

I’ll clean you because out a divorce is such an opportune affair

To thrive on your misfortune whereas I am cultured and debonair

You got me wrong folks I’m not dirty only clean up after the act

To call me foul or unsocial is totally wrong and dishonestly inexact

Know why I attack my once glorious protector it’s because I can

I got you cold out of balance and that has always been my master plan

‘Oh dear ex fellow hyena you might have forgotten one miniscule detail

In some sense only I’m quite similar to you and can rip out your entrails

But I won’t let’s be clear about virtuous living and ethical behaviour

By retorting with similar greed I would merely be your victim role saviour’

‘I am also a hyena in a way that most humans will never comprehend

Simply because they are your models of ignorance and I will remand

You in your own prison meanwhile I found myself another cuddly companion

Go sharpen your claws if you want but I’ll feast on love and kind understanding’

Still Dithering With Hesitation On Brink of Abysmal Precipice I

Infinite pitch black void zoomed,
I vacillated then pitched headlong
(head and knobby knees, over heels)
where skeletons in shuttered closets roomed,
and antithesis of freedom loomed
large (think) cosmic size grand canyon groomed
courtesy the once mighty Mississippi,
now barely a babbling brook in places

espouses, and cloisters unbridled wedded bliss
till after honeymoon, than couple fumed
one accusing the other of infidelity
absolute zero witnessed crime of passion
lifeless bodies in shallow grave entombed
after violent retribution forensic experts
determine homicide after lovely bones exhumed
shotgun marriage from getgo doomed
structured sound of silence boomed.

Against the wishes of slumbering wife,
the following I nonetheless narrated,
to you how she temporarily held
yours truly check (mated),
thus eternal salvation sought
at healing waters of Lake Woebegone
repurposed conscious being
to experience sanguine mood linkedin
attending high school reunion
ridding hypocrisy, modesty,
and travesty initially I hibernated
away from madding crowd
once for all ascending
soul asylum gilded gated

stairway to heaven
consanguinity amidst deceased brethren
impossible mission to discern,
dawdling against inevitable fated
doom, thus I nevertheless equivocated
and bemoaned series of unfortunate events.

Daniel Handler an American writer and musician
best known for his children's series
A Series of Unfortunate Events
and All the Wrong Questions
Lemony Snicket honestly created
salvation blissfully, knowingly belated
and thankfully ameliorated.

At long last doomed existence
finally fancy free and footloose
Earthly afflictions divine creator
severe trials and tribulations let loose
promise body, mind and spirit triage
damn physical, mental, and
spiritual afflictions permanent vamoose
yoked Sisyphean and mephistophelean woe
summoning herculean strength

I pried with a screw-driver driven into a lid
sealed with age, and rust, to crack open a
callous retribution, set aside, tombed over.
I was curious to learn how much remained
and in what condition. Up came the lid with
a gurgle, fizz, hiss, expelled with age smell.
The paint on top, had dried, to a skin, a curd,
a viscous scum of strange foreign color that
did not auger well for its pending redemption.
I poked through the thin skin, scooping it out,
to reveal the paint separated into its primary
colors. Once, thrice stirred, it slowly rejigged
into its original color and form, ready to adorn
marks on the wall, scraped and sanded ready
for a fix, now all's done dusted, and forgiven.

I Cannot Forget Trayvon Martin Slain Teen

I cannot forget Trayvon Martin - slain teen

no matter manifold more young people
unthinkingly killed, who spirits aspire
to ascend higher than a steeple.

revisited and slightly revised today
March 14th, 2021.

One deliberate shameful death,
whose demise linkedin
violent cessation of breath
thank heavy gun wielding hand
innocuous thug disguised
as armed neighborhood watch
firearm brandished
as weapon of choice.

Once again rifling thru outdated drafts,
I unwittingly repost grievous bulletin
that made headlines nine plus years ago,
an innocent lad received fatal shot
into said unarmed teenager's chest
according to testimony
courtesy Doctor Vincent Di Maio.

Memory of aforementioned crime
relegated to dustbin of criminal minds
whereby dime a dozen killings
(nowadays barely register shock)
countless young persons
genetically bequeathed with
healthy dose of melanin
gunned down during their prime.

George Zimmerman (then age 28)
ought to be pitched into the
alligator and crocodile infested Everglade
for his senseless killing (outright murder)
of Trayvon Martin slammed
as involved some illicit wick kid trade
(a slender African American
more precisely youth flush with color
only 17 years young -

(birthdate - February 5th, 1995
death date - February 26th, 2012),
whose martyrdom grows
as days/weeks fade
an exemplary gregarious helpmate
swimming against the tide
to make the grade
now slain while just a youth -
the unfounded killing
by a neighborhood watch volunteer,

who felt afraid
that this dark skinned young man
appeared suspicious pulled the trigger
with comeuppance to be paid
though -- no retribution can restore
lifeless body, still
agitated waters nor offer shade
from the justifiable media frenzy
sparked from Geraldo Rivera made

even with unanimous
approval of guillotine blade
for violence cannot only rejuvenate
a promising future
evinced by Trayvon Martin
reincarnated into tree or leaf blade
but only serves to beget subsequent
violence now unto his grave
said teenager laid!

Premium Member The Quintessential Poet Queen For Elizabeth Wesley

A lady who once touched my mind
in ways I could not decorously describe,
because she did so from afar
through her thoughts and words that shined like stars.

She wrote of love and hate and war
of mysterious mermaids and opening doors,
to moonlight magic and midnight rides
and of winter snow and birds that fly.

She wrote of summer sunshine and invigorating rain
and making pleasurable love and living in perpetual pain,
of retribution for things once taken
and sweet solutions for those left shaken.

She wrote of beginnings, endings and belly dancers
the sounds of summer and taking chances,
the way of a river and destiny
a song in a heart, ecstasy and a legacy.

She wrote of life, death and a new born baby’s breath
and how to ponder, pause and rest,
in words of splendor that always rendered
hearts and souls enraptured and surrendered.

To her loving thoughts that entered deep
whether wide awake or fast asleep,
and left me mourning along the way
to hear this angel had passed away.

Leaving this world forever, changed
because her words and rhymes still burn like flames,
through day or night and in between,
Elizabeth will always be
the quintessential poet queen.

Fallen From Grace

Fallen from grace,
no longer do I sit high upon the pedestal that you had once put me
No longer am I seen as idol or mentor
Nor wanted as provider or protector
But now looked upon as an outcast and banished from your heart.

Betrayed by the one who now blinds you
With a veil of lies and deceit that weighs on your young fragile heart
With heavy words of animosity and abhorrence

You have been trapped in a malevolent web of hatred and retribution
Used as an unwitting pawn in a game of emotional chess.

Your words of respect and adoration
Have been replaced by venomous accusations of brutality and oppression
Taught to you by the on who now holds the chains that bind your heart.

But I will not be vanquished or deterred
By these attempts to falsify or dilute my love for you
I will be strong in my resolve and true to myself

I will not let these misguided asseveration's destroy my confidence
In knowing that my spirit is pure and that one day
You will be able to break free from your restraints
And uncover your eyes so you can distinguish the truth from the lies.

To understand the choices that need to be made in life
Through your own mistakes and life experiences

Until that day comes I shall be waiting,
Ready to stand next to you as opposed to being on that pedestal
And walk down a new road with you as your friend and equal.

Some had bank accounts taken t'was on the news this
Situation'
Though some reasons were given.! That these people were un-ruly
Un-shriven?
Yet that turned out a misnomer? Or a lie.? Maybe
Just a stumer?
Let us trust in the passage; of some time, all can't
Manage, thats.Just fine.
Will there be a retribution? On these operatives of
Institutions?
Social steerers; cheerers of default changing, who appear
Mostly as changelings'
Should the cohorts of a feather? Get some tar as per
To the letter?
Will the emails be 'flying?' Will many pundits be vying??
Is there any reality?
Can there; be? some countering of such insanity?

Part 1: As English As Sausage, Egg, Chips and Peas

A most remarkable parish spire! and, widely acknowledged as
Just such...constantly commented upon being seen for the
Very first time.
Pressed into the church's soft sandstone walls, the shallow
Indentations from ball and shot left over from when the
Roundheads had came this way;
The Royalists did determine to fight to the last man...
Or so it was, reportedly, thus contendend.
The sky above as hollow as a cathedral's resounding dome; and
Possessing a sort of wild, uncharted immensity...
And not a bird singing...not a single bird in flight.
A strangely discomforting sunshine began to gently filter
Through the moitionless leaves on the already limp branches
Of the pale trees;
Spots of sunlight dappling the pavements and roadway,
Lying patiently underneath, with a hesitancy akin to
Reluctant rain.

Pausing in Sainsbury's carpark, I half turned:-
The slow, dulled, monotonous clanging of the grieving bell
As it relentlessly mourned the passing of it's beloved Queen.
People moving about me with measured deliberation as if on
Stage acting a part in a Victorian Drawing-room play.
Cars and vans drove more slowly...perhaps they were compelled
To do so by sudden divine intervention? ...or an inexplicable
Sense of spiritual duty?
Some great, unseen, all-powerful white God who had visted
Each of them in their dreams and threatened one and all with
Terrible retribution...and quite rightly so to my way of
Thinking.
And still the sobbing bell tolled...for it was determined to
Command this sombre day.

Premium Member When Hate Breeds Love

In every pairing there is always the chance
Of mutation, pushing forward
Or genetically thrown back
To something now dormant
But still timelessly valuable,
Unintended consequences of evolution
Unlikely and even unwanted.

After all times change, values change
Yet human nature remains the same.

Every time someone is wronged
Murdered, assaulted, abused and cheated
Of course there are victims
And of course the fear/hate of revenge
Retribution and justice is stirred up,
But also in every harm is an opportunity
For insight and compassion
And true compassion embraces all.

Perhaps the greatest insight
Is that love, not hate, is foundational to Life.
And love is more mysterious and profound
And yet immediate and knowable
Than we can ever know.

In every act, loving or hateful,
There is a chance to see the play of Life unfolding.

Premium Member The Narcissistic

In a World where mirrors lie/
And falsehoods find their stride/
The Narcissistic wanders by/
With grandeur in their eyes/
A veneer of charm and grace/
A smile that's falsely sweet/
Behind the mask, a hollow space/
Where empathy is in retreat/
Entitled to the highest praise/
They bask in admiration/
But challenge them, sparks will blaze/
A storm of retribution/
For in their realm, they reign supreme/
A fragile crown they wear/
When faced with a no answer/
They will plot and scheme/
Revenge laid bare, beware/
They'll spread the whispers, twist the truth/
A smear campaign begun/
To tarnish those who dare rebuke/
Their vengeance never done/
So guard your heart, be firm and wise/
Set boundaries, stand your ground/
The Narcissistic grand disguise/
In truth, is lost, is lost unbound/
They seek the world to kneel and bow/
To fuel their empty fire/
But look beyond the surface now/
And see their true attire/
In recognizing what is real/
We break illusion's hold/
The essence of their dark appeal/
A tale that's often told/
