This thirsting land, parched by the sun
An autumn drought, that summer spun
Without the rain, no colors found
Fall foliage fizzled, green to brown
A cheated heart, now feels shortchanged
That natures brush, has been restrained
The trees are bare, north winds have blown
Like fleeting thoughts, how time has flown
Whilst winter waits, at fall's deathbed
To lift my heart, I look ahead
I see bright colors, of early spring
The awakening, of everything
Today the skies are clouded gray
The sun will soon be back to stay
Springs rains will come, Nature will bloom
Reviving hope, replacing gloom

When do you replace the old?
Of course, when something breaks
Or starts to show its age and causes
Subtle double-takes.
When things no longer seem in style
Or might be torn or frayed
Or if a dozen versions
Of your phone have since been made.
Perhaps you see your current couch
On retro TV shows,
Where actresses appear to wear
Some of your closet clothes.
There comes a time when normal folks
Replace, with no regret,
The items that need updates
But alas, I’m not there yet.
three ducks paddling
300 yards, dogleg left
……..no short game
a feral cat
digging in the sand trap
……..replacing divots
an old dog
lays on the first tee
………..licking his balls
the golf ball smiled
the golfer slammed his club
……the caddy smiled back
he addressed the ball
not knowing where it would go
……no return address
a blind approach shot
swinging from the hips
………a gaggle of geese
the nineteenth hole
burgers, fries, beers and BS
………lies about lies

So whenever you look into me
you'll know
You are beautiful
REPLACING SADNESS
Sadness plays on the melodies of life
like broken strings on a violin.
We feel the discord and it shakes our being,
a trembling reaction to scratchy notes.
Try to remember the in between sounds
when sweet melodies lightened your heart
pleasant memories taken from a time gone by
and sealed within a deeper consciousness
to be be used and reused like a worn out pair
of comfortable slippers.

**used to be a big fan! But it so over DONE now...
She thought that she was over you completely
but apparently her guess was so wrong,
For you she still had a lot of feelings
feelings that after all of those years still remained strong.
She married with the hopes of escaping your memory
and with the hopes that another man could take your place,
And now she finds herself still being haunted by your sweet memories
she has realized that there is not another that can take your place.
She thought about you both day and night
and she had found that her heart still missed you so,
She knew that still loving you was not right
but she found it so hard in completely letting you go.
She knew the fact that you had long ago moved on with your life
you had some how managed to start anew,
she had known deep down inside her heart as well as in the back of her mind
that there could be no way of ever replacing you.
