Replacing Sadness

REPLACING SADNESS

Sadness plays on the melodies of life
like broken strings on a violin.
We feel the discord and it shakes our being,
a trembling reaction to scratchy notes.

Try to remember the in between sounds
when sweet melodies lightened your heart
pleasant memories taken from a time gone by
and sealed within a deeper consciousness
to be be used and reused like a worn out pair
of comfortable slippers.

Only if sadness could be replaced, like the broken strings on a violin. The world would be much happier, without so much anger coming from within. If sadness could be replaced, we could see the true beauty that surrounds us all. Broken hearts would no longer feel pain, and to pieces they would no longer fall. Sorry... Your words struck a chord in me, and I had to let them flow. Great write. As always. :o)

Dan, one you said summarizes the human drama. And each of us tries to make the best of it in whatever ways we can. Allan

Not so long as many others. I have found that each soul in their lifetime bares many sides of experience that we try to express in words in prose and poetry. It is within these inclusive and exclusive readings somewhat joyful somewhat sad, that I am always rediscovering humanity's stories at Poetry Soup.
