The Palm And The Arms

Sugary and luscious things are very dear,
And are, cherished by all --the young, old
Placid and the choleric ones as well, mere ;
So are warm smiles and the words of gold,
That more than touch, embalm and console
The lost ,cold, bold, or a grave ruffled soul !

It is an enigma : things sweet today or now
May turn to aversion or an unbearable aught
Once relished and held treasure all far above;
A nod may convey the true relief long sought,
Like a communion between the souls fraught
With varied feel or the foiled bearing distraught !

A peaceful palm can settle what a free cannon
Sword, or missiles aye undo in battles and war
And the victory chaser is often left still in a stun
Like a twinkling, distant yet sure hopeful a star
Heavenly mercy, love and goodness doth beam
From an honest and true genial smile, to deem.

Premium Member To My Kitties

A pair of tiny orphans
in haystacks their mother made,
near an orchard by a lake,
with pine tall as an arcade.

Sheltering them,I brought milk
to the lonely kits each day,
but they wouldn't show their faces
till I hovered far away.

In time they learned to like me,
and slowly joined running games;
one brown-furred, one white bundle
Sugar and Puff... their nicknames.

Hearing my voice from the door,
the kitties would run so quick
right up my tummy to the neck;
playing cuddle- and- frolic.

One day, Puff and Sugar left
not marking sign of contacts...
the fun of souls well relished,
how my heart misses loved cats.

Premium Member SECOND CHANCE

Cancer had me down
Thinking no reason to live
Still have more living to give
This is the time to win
I will fight this cancer fight
I will not think grave and say good night
When I thought all was loss
It was the Heaven’s miraculous
Recovery made obvious
The skies smiled and embraced you have a second chance
Doctors stated the results came back negative, and the cancer was eliminated
Suddenly knew where hope came from
I just needed Faith in strength in never give up nor give in
That was the other way
Heaven’s deliverance made everything be ok
As I looked into the mirror, I saw and hear applause
The mind focused on recovery
Inner strength the discovery
Nothing mysterious being all in the open
Maybe came out strong in definitely
It was Heaven’s granted into continue to stride
Sooner or later relished into purpose
Everything came together like a puzzle piece
Eyes above from Heaven
Everyone doesn’t get the chance in opportunity as it must be granted
Eyes straight to the Heaven’s
Can’t thank enough
Second chance into new life
Honor to receive.

from my mother
informing me
that she is bored
out of her mind

I’ll be sure
to get back to her
on that one

but while she
was leaving the message
of dire importance
I was dancing about
to Angelica Lansbury

I was spinning about
with a silk scarf
from Prague
that you gave me
 for Christmas

around the purple
 yoga trapeze
of parachute silk
that hangs like a swing
from heaven

next to my zebra print
that I didn’t paint
and a snake tank
that makes dancing
more constricting

the scarf is a print
of ‘The Kiss’
by Gustav Klimpt
that you know I love

I wore it once
and relished
the cheap compliments

“Certain as the sun
rising in the east
tale as old as time
song as old as rhyme”

some classics get younger
as I get older

 I’ll call you back
tomorrow

The new rookie better than nookie

Only the very young & very beautiful can be so aloof

Hanging out with the boys all swagger & poise

Our new dashing wannabe tyro is ample proof

(coined by Tom with aplomb.. purloined by me)

Mused Caribbean calypso cool fused with well private school

Cherished plush rhapsodies segue with relished lush melodies

Lips licks fancy flicks & tricks picnics phoenix from the Ashes

Remedies for believers lulled by lullabies from lyrical levers

Poetic shapes lacy lines never frenetic balletic aesthetic

The boundary rope dope trope Jacob is our new hope

The computer says “YES” suitor for the future prophetic

Or down with the kids well Bethell’s the real deal rookie

Badgers hearts swell feels like proper Test cricket nookie

Tell his chilled southpaw drawer got more than Cookie

While other than Joe everyone else was playing hooky

Golden curls & olden twirls.. BET HELL for the bookie

After the Touch

she was touched by a phantom

becoming a phantom too

both boarded coral carriage

wheels grate cobble streets in mist

opera seats were waiting

then to swirl on dancing floor

she relished escaping hours

Premium Member Hector Loves his Quietude

The prison cell was the best place Hector had ever lived
He relished his solitude
He had never had silence in a foster home or a group home
Hector was at peace
Glad to be here
Grateful for this quietude
Then he got a roommate

Snippets of Spring vol 2

Lyricism of wisteria ruses…peacocking muses gushing tomes

Classicism flocking..roams & woos homes not garden gnomes

Colourful creepers cruising..schmoozing with boisterously blushing bricks

Spring exudes mysticism..oozes oodles of bamboozling serendipity flushing

Cherished fingers rushing freely..delivers..unctuous ravishingly rambunctious

Relished slivers lavishly lingers..embellished..proudly protrudes

Inspires rhyming platitudes about gratitude...fires fresh

Attitudes across a range of altitudes & latitudes

Sprinkling wryly of vintner's drily sparkle...ends strange debacle...

Skint stints of wily skinflint winter’s splinters..with hints of now..Spring sprints

But also somehow.. if one squints..get an inkling of change..

Glints of summer's tints slyly twinkling

Be Kind

In the raffle
That is life
Strife is rife
Moral blindness
Snaffles kindness
But passion
Can fashion
Empathy
Rations for a while
Vile bile denial
Come on
Charity not depravity
Compassion
Turns
Guile, wiles & trials
Into Cheshire cat smiles
Sympathy
Shrugs become hugs
Affinity
Muddled huddles
Become
Cherished cuddles
Sensitivity relished
Pokes at folks
Now
Rib tickling jokes
So
Don’t fall behind
How
No need to look above
Refine your mind
Rewind & you will find
What
Defined Fab Four rapport
No
Don't push & shove
Why
"All you need is love"
Really..you sure
Yeah go on…try to be kind

Premium Member Baal god of Fertility and Rider of the Clouds

Baal spent time in the underworld with the lesser gods
Learned how to make man miserable with the weather
Thunderbolts and lightning announced his earthly arrivals
Baal relished in the misery of lost sailors and dying soldiers.
He was a key deity in weather changes and stubbornness.
Thus, he was represented with a bull, ram or thunderbolt
Rider of the clouds some said; they were barely touching Baal’s strength.
He was the quintessential weather god, also, called
God of fertility, which goes along with moon cycles and weather.

Eternal Verge

ravens croak
      applauding twilight
larks churr
    saluting sunrise

a last dance over
an inverted verge.

a perpetual encounter
    the last mesh of murk
         against gleams of glow

held in abeyance,
    opposites wrangling
         like birth and demise
asking intricate questions
     preserve or discharge
          uncertain anxieties

ravens claim temporal flesh,
     their ravenousness relished,
dominant despotism
                     it seems.

yet our lark’s song resonates
                    stirring our species
influencing our intimate impressions,
     channelling subconsciously
          our choice
               around that inverted verge

        eternally guarding us

Epiphany

Reflecting its neighbourhood,
The lake water shone yellow.
Resembling a synchronisation of saturation
With the setting sun.
Seizing green colour of the grasses
The sun painted them gold.

Engrossed gazing pines dance spectacularly,
Only awakened with sparrows' chirps,
And Robins' melodious songs.
Perched on the edge of a dead tree,
Abrupt thoughts hovered my consciousness.

Despite a gust, the dead tree stayed firm.
Nighbours swayed, relished,
Departing sun of the beautiful evening.
It rests and rests....

The landscape mirrored delight,
It grieved its own death.
Incompetent to sense, the scorching sun,
The white sheet of snow, dusk and dawn.
It rests and rests....

Observed the ambience twice .
No mournings! no sorrow!
Nothing ceased their pace.
Infact , they moved on.
It rests and rests....

Premium Member First Month

My January, you cup the balm of my fortitude
in your hands streaked with breathing hope,
nursing the fertile seeds of renewal
with crystal mist so despicably beautiful
that moonlit fireworks glaze steadily
on night’s eyes, grounding my balance
with acceptance that throbs of both
discontent and love come
from the same seed: and how
this first month must be relished
in holiness of fresh dowry days--
