BORROWED WORDS: THE PROTAGONIST

I am the hero of my world,
Bound to shake, rattled by words
of people, with eyes of mockery
Whose voices echoing vanity.

But I am the hero of my world,
I make mistakes for am a human.
I won't be shaken by any man,
Coz i will rise, firm i'll stand.

And I am the hero of my world,
My end is destined by my works.
I won't be rattled, nor fear lurks.
My heart's a victor over words.

Coz I am the hero of my world,
"Beware; for I am fearless,
and therefore powerful."
To the vicious I am ruthless,
and I'd take risks, but mindful.

Premium Member Protagonist of George Harrison

Written: May 5th, 2025, for contest by Brian Strand

Painting by Peter Doig. A concise abstract on Abbey Road and its pivotal moment. He subsequently produced outstanding music. His music resembled pleasant dew cascading as melodic notes, like honey smeared on leavened bread.

George Harrison

moving toward a liquid abyss
after Abbey Road--
where no sunlight can seep into the hall
surrounding the mirrored pool
he draws the guitar strings
with notched arrows
tipped in flint
striking sparks
like match heads ignited
on concrete sidewalks
during the golden hour
heavy with humid
condensation
coating every surface
with sweet dew
musical notes drip down
like honey spread
on warm yeasty bread

The Protagonist Is I

You are the hero,
The main character,
The one trying to hold the story together in your shaking hands,
Our lives are just like books,
Filled with numerous chapters,
Could be disasters,
You are the story,
You are my story,
I am the protagonist,
Yet also the antagonist,
A blessing and a curse dropped into your lap,
I know that you will overcome your enemies in the end,
I bite my tongue even though its hurting,
I keep your secrets till my chest is burning,
That's usually a goodish enough storyline that melts the audience,
But people like myself who do not melt sees the true sadness in the lack of melting,
We do not melt because we have been melted ao much that we went for an operation and we came out transformed,
We are now metal,
And I'm sorry to disappoint that antagonist/antagonist who becomes a protagonist,
But the best I would ever be able to do to you is to warm your heart.

despite some consideration for the hows, whys, wherefores and whether
unguided, wandering through known universe tying things together

aged in millenniums, centuries, decades, days, hours and minutes
each one existing where all things may be true within their own limits

why, oh why have such tribulations of strife and tears befallen us?
does not the wealth of true human knowledge speak to and through all of us?

must we believe that all human foibles are prone to repetition?
beneficial ideologies should improve the human condition

avoiding pretension, apologies create their own disguises
unannounced guest from the past, guilt arrives in many shapes and sizes

we are fragile beings, unsuited to living beyond our planet
prone to greed, prejudice, long lasting grievances and truth's abandonment
often more than willing to turn into our own worst protagonist

Be a Wise Protagonist

Every time when I feel that I am doing wrong.
You correct the mistake and made me much strong.
I think you are a perfect resemblance of God.
I get angry whenever someone calls you Fraud.
But you tell me every time that ignoring is the way to become a wise.
If you can erase your inner aggression and anger then it would nice.
Only way to become flawless is to accept the mistake.
You just need to erase your mistake.
Our life is a surprise gift from Lord of the Universe.
Embrace life with pure devotion before it become worse.
Pray for everyone including your enemy.
Life is not a Film, a Cartoon or an Anime.
A soulful pray can erase the darkness of terror activist.
Don’t be a fool and use your Brain to become a humble protagonist.

Captive Canticle
David J Walker

Imagine her always dressed as summer
Perpetually blown from day to day by
A youthful song and
I could have been the singer… or
I could have been the distant canticle
Sung on her bedside radio
Strewn in rose petal expectations of the
Perpetual journey of the protagonist in
A love poem who will never be seen
Beyond the next tomorrow

The chapter ends and she remains
The captive canticle of the book

Finds himself alone
On stage
Performance frozen
Smiles clumsily.
A hidden hand
In shade
A stab from behind.

Vaccant seats
Bated footsteps
Dust and delusion
Close to dusk.
Protagonist wails
'Screw me
I've to deliver
My arch dialogue
"Et Too.......
Then Fall I'"
