Prima Poems

Premium MemberPrima Ballerina

Like a morning flower unfurling in beauty
One ballerina blooms in a graceful ballet

Of Shadows and light she flows in a delicate pastel dream yearning to greet her lover upon a wind stuck ridge of destiny

She leaps into flight as the setting sun calls the whispering wind to lead her through the
warm Summer night

Topaz blue slowly fades to violet lashes of ruby red wisps and golden silver blooms

Lost in a starlit fantasy she slowly spins to a garden of silken rose

Lying motionless upon a bed of wild baby's breath
The curtain falls upon a misty dream

Prima Facie

Prima Facie
adjective
based on the first impression; accepted as correct until proved otherwise.

so i accept
what choice do I have
i'm such a big fan
i love you so much
you are pure art

so i look past the downward glance of your eyes

Prima Facie
adverb
on the first impression

at first
i thought you were beautiful
but it's not
you're not
per se

it's just that you prefer the pain of others
because guilt is a solid replacement for anguish
you like to see me get hit
get struck down
because you can offer a hand down to me
but i cannot climb up to you

and i'm sorry
if my deadweight was too heavy
when you gripped my body after striking me down

Premium MemberPrima Donna Cat

Prima donna cat had ruffles on top of ruffles.
She looks clown like said our clown Muffles.
She is doing okay, she looks pretty a butterfly said.
She was so thrilled, she danced way past his head.

Prima donna cat loved her giant pink tutu.
But she has lost her left pink ballet shoe.
I need some help she said as she danced down the hill.
As far as I know she is moving that way still.

prima ballerina
    expressive arms
  interlocking curves
    the pose of two swans

  her foot softly supple
    arched so long
  pink flamingo
    toe stance on

  Pirouettes 'round and round
    her leading man
  leaps lithe and lovely
    as only grace can

Energy Vampires

Like a new baby into the world,
Like a new baby chick into an old kraal,
Sometimes I feel so exposed and vulnerable,
My energy is even at stake.

I am exposed to the energy vampires,
They do suck away my energy all the time,
May be I am being too sensitive, but no!
It is only that they are inconsiderate.

Can I keep on running away from them?
Life is about interaction, will I do without them then?
I don’t know how to act when I am around them,
But I know that sometimes I need them and it hurts,
Because, with them I feel powerless.

They do judge things at first value, prima facie,
Blind eyes they turn to the surrounding circumstances,
They are selfish and inconsiderate,
Demotivated, bad and inferior, that’s how I feel,
They are energy vampires and I hate them.

Prima Don

On the last evening of a wonderful weathered

                        summer, flitting between the branches

of our rowan tree and the Chinese wind chime

that some like me hear a sound almost divine

while others hear as an irritant in an English

garden, a young male blackbird with yellow

beak chirping - four, three, two, but rarely one

note and as the Prima Don in the opera of the

evening waves its head and wags its tail so

                        belligerently at rivals thereabout, whether

birds, cats or me, weathering our courage.

Prima Colazione Sbagliata Wrong Breakfast

Prima colazione sbagliata

 Vorrei dimenticare
Se i nostri tempi ti penti

 Il mio amore soffocato
 Le mie emozioni accoppiato

English / Italian

 Wrong Breakfast
You scrambled my heart, as if it were a three egg omelet.

Breaking the shell of my soul till it crumbled.

I am trying so hard just to forget.

My inner self tumbled, bumbled.

I felt shuffled

I feel ruffled.
I would rather forget.

If our times you regret.

My love muffled,
My emotions coupled.

Prima Vera Spring

Prima Vera (spring)

The westerly has ceased it doesn’t get
dark before seven, time for evening walks,
and let stillness read my thoughts.

Under a carob tree three stones one on
top of the other and old man sat here,
he saw everything till he lost his shadow.

No one sit on his throne, like sitting on
a tombstone, the stone-chair belongs to
him, his everlasting memorial.

Time to walk home, feel hungry,
the mundane always takes precedence.
Spring is here and life is beautiful.

Prima Donna Footle: the Diva

She sings

            For kings

                        Ablaze

                                They gaze

                                             Profound

                                                        The sound

                                                                     All 'round

                                                                                 Spellbound

Prima Donna

Peacock-like vanity propelling you,
Restless in the search for adulation,
Image of yourself so damn inflated,
Master of a self-centered universe;
A great one, yes, until you ask others.

Donning a pride as a sort of armor,
Only a world-class ego keeping you,
Nary a thought of your worth, if any,
None but that pretty face in the mirror;
Ah, to be living on such shaky ground!
