Thy Breath Remains

—A Sonnet of Departing Eyes—

When thou wert gone, the populous world rang,
yet all its clamour fell beyond my ear;
the brazen noon beneath its burden sang,
while silence gathered where thou wert not near.

When I praised thy laughter, flowers raised their flame
And bent towards the wind, enquiring of thy name;
their petals searched the road thy footsteps crossed,
as though each bloom could read the shape of loss.

Then once thou turnedst back, and from my breast
my breath withdrew before thy departing eyes;
again thou lookedst—and the earth, possessed,
seemed tinder strewn beneath the waiting skies.

I would have burned the world to make thee stay—
but it remained the world, and thou wert away.

Premium Member STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES - AN ODE TO DYSLECIA

As I have wondered through the halls of old,
the minds of famous scribes in academia
had made me fearless, oft carelessly bold
when Mind betrayed lexical anaemia.

Soon baying at the Moon as it weeps,
a different view, depending on aspect.
The wisdom I crave inexorably seeps,
but seldom culminates into respect.

The misprision's become my badge of honour
as hyperbole swills in lexicon o’ Man.
Long years of uninformed populous dour
with magniloquent thinking that poetry can.

Yet I contemplate books in warehouse—
dyslexia transformed it into ‘wh…house’—
endless mirth that others could never douse.

Premium Member West

A little Southern town
Could never astone.
Big Northern city,
So filled with activity.
A Northern dairy land
Where it's easy to be a fan.
My desire to serve never ceased.
But no one called from the East.
So, back to the populous place.
Back to the region of slow pace.
Four years of sweat and tears.
Then, sweet melodies to my ears.
From 2000 miles, the WEST calls.
There, the kids grew stable and tall.
It seemed the WEST was where we belonged;
The place where we grew confident and strong.
And for 43 years, we called WEST our home.
Home, sweet home. We had ceased to roam.

What If We Were Racist?

If the majority of people have concerns about illegal immigration only for the government to call them racist,
And, that same majority of people turned around and openly declared themselves racist,
would the government in turn govern the country according to the populous opinion and fulfil its duty to the people, by running the country in line with the demands of the people, by doing whatever is necessary so as to deport illegal immigrants upon arrival thus easing the concerns of the majority who were forced to embody the racist narrative in order to become legitimised?

If so wouldn’t it make sense for the government to see illegal immigration concerns as just that, unlawful acts of migration, and deal with the problem so that the majority aren’t forced to embrace racism as a core belief?

Fractured World

Penetrating cold.
Decry warmth, compassion -
world is lost, twisted.

Innocence forgave,
Indoctrinated hate, strikes -
Inescapable!

Overwhelming fear,
Far right reaches to arm -
Flashes, pain, darkness.

Propaganda rise.
Educated disbelief,
words failing to heal.

Fascism, no regard;
Resounding hatred echoed -
Elites unburdened.

Rich unencumbered,
Preying on the downtrodden -
Reverse Robin Hood.

Tech-bro oligarchy;
Puppeteers the White House,
Bent knee to Pontiff.

2025:
Rage consumed populous;
kindness - a lost art.

The Invitation

(A seductive voice whispers as incense fills the air)

Sat within here
A discarded loop in time and space

Within this room

I see you all in the distance
Shimmering through

Like bright pink desert mirages

In your living tombs

Stood alone
In my magical circle of no rehearsals

Chanting Yaruba tribes
Ancient magical rites

Summoning up the populous of Godhead

So I the shaman can call to you

“When the living ground eats the breathing Sun, I will open the secret doors to take you home.

For eating and tasting words like a new, Grace Dent, at Lent, isn't for you.

Just write this down and burn it in the back garden on a piece of paper.

I'm ready,
Come and take me to the secret amphitheatre

Where the voices of the Serpent

The Beast
And God take to its stage

To showcase who they've taken home and played.”

To then write out your own name in the ruined temples books

Before you line up to watch

Before they return
And choose
Before you are took

And I'll call within a heartbeat

To take you East
To meet

Either God or the Beast

After the Revolution

What shall we keep after the revolution?
State sanctioned lies.
lies about yesterday and tomorrow.

Oxycontin and fentanyl factories
must be kept on a war footing.

We will follow the science,
accepting at last that Alzheimer’s is
natural, safe and should never be treated,
unless there are signs of recovery.

Happiness points will be allotted,
according to those exhibiting
a myopic tendency
to laugh at nothing at all.

We will need more suitcases,
production must be stepped up,
for the transportation of gold teeth,
cigarettes and lighters,
and other minor treasures
to barter and swap with for food.

Actual breadlines will be considered,
a patriotic and legitimate form
of outdoor exercise.
We will need bicycles,
one for every five families should do.

Large sections of our victorious homeland,
together with its surplus populous
will be recycled into a much needed,
glue and mulch,
in order to hold together our glorious future.

After the Wars

Following the devastating war
between the big nosed people
and the large eared folks,
reparations and reconstruction
were sorely needed.
Both sides poured billions of dollars
into each other to rebuild
all the stuff that had been
knocked down and flattened.

The money flowed back and forth
eventually bankrupting both nations.
As we all know, or should do,
harsh economic times
lead to social unrest,
the populous will seek
someone to blame.

Naturally the big eared guys
blamed the long noses.
and vice-versa
so, they again
made war upon each other.

Rockets flew, cannons roared
until everyone was again
just left sitting around
amidst the mess and rubble.

By then, the only currency
of any practical value
was in the form of
Zippo lighters, fuel, cigarettes,
and toilet paper.

By that sorry time,
if you had a notable stock of all four
you were considered by many
to have won the war.

When Unidentifiable Beings Meet

Sponge-brained Bobby gulped air
through his underwater respirator.

Alien squid pulsed signaling sentience,
its bulbous head
swelling as it curiously explored
the artificial sea-life before it.

Bobby the deep-diver waved,
made rude inexplicable signs
with his five fingered flippers.

Alien squid
reported the sighting,
but his meeting with the frogman
could not be confirmed,

and so the giant squid populous
kept on believing
that they were the only intelligent life form
in the entire watery universe,

and they were right
on so many fathomless levels.

Premium Member Ode To Humanity

It's the Rules of the GAME that were screwed up,
which caused humanity to self destruct,
not the values of the global populous.
Environment Shapes Behavior, is what humanity failed to learn,
historically era after era again and again.
They failed to learn what makes people behave as they do.
It was the indoctrination in magazines, schools, radio, and news.
