There, somewhere yonder, I have to go
It looks like a long and arduous journey,
A fear brewing in the pit of my stomach
Yet with sore feet and a bruised spirit
but dogged by a dubious dilemma
Go, I must—Where to? I do not know!

Poor Mrs.Lotty became so confused,
But because of her age she's excused.
She adores decorating.
But what she is creating,
Has the neighborhood somewhat amused.
On Halloween she put up her trèe.
There were ghosts in the nativity!
Santa wore a pilgrim hat,
The tree topper was a bat!
None could fault her creativity.
The wreath made of fall leaves on the door,
Was decked out and like never before.
Pumpkin, snowman, and turkey,
Seemed to me a bit quirky.
But it was festive, that is for sure!

centered within mind caverns
constant lightless deep
echos reverberate
into end times
of all my existence
I live for one moment
where crack of light,
that is that Light,
will illuminate me
to light a trail
that leads me out
to a place where
darkness has gone to sleep
and within that beautiful
bright golden, nestling space
I find myself embraced
by all that can be explained
as I cross, wide eyed,
the boulevard laid
for new glorious sights
as I tread upon, step-by-step,
the cobblestone Way
until I come to the end
that becomes the beginning

How can we see, if we be blind
to touch of God, loving and kind,
for though He seeks to set us free,
if we be blind, how can we see?
Mind of our soul, within heart sleeps,
insentient to love’s bliss beeps,
so we must awake, to feel whole;
within heart sleeps, mind of our soul.
God’s light within, our ego veils,
incessantly presence assails
and as we sink deeper in sin,
our ego veils, God’s light within.
Our ego dies when thoughts recede
and with love as our sturdy steed,
our consciousness reaches new highs;
when thoughts recede, our ego dies.
In timeless time, we merge with God,
ocean of love that leaves us awed
and as we so heavenward climb,
we merge with God in timeless time.

"I have been a stranger in a strange land." Bible, Exodus 2:22
Ushered by God to abide in His light
My steps keep walking along what is right
While I journey toward eternal place
As blessed stranger in a foreign land.
Endowed with new creation’s holy might
My faith soars upward great reaching-out height
Propelled by the Lord to share love and grace
As blessed stranger in a foreign land.
Looking forward to living with delight
Glorious paradise of wonderful sight
I long for blissful everlasting ways
As blessed stranger in a foreign land.
Here on earth, my heart pleads for heaven’s rays
As blessed stranger in a foreign land.

Six Pilgrim Poems
In the Park
Belly full of chi
sky with gentle rain waters
dancers like flowers
My Dzogchen Realization
“Ah, Ah” says Raven
in play, in jest, proclaiming
primordial sound
The Way
Alone I wander.
Too tired to climb the peaks
I settle into the valley
Following the way.
Emeishan
In the mountain clouds
the peaks remain elusive
while trees dance and breathe.
On the Way
On the way
all effort
is exhausted in the doing
This Dream
simple and complete
everything is everything
in this dream of ours

Stupor pays a heavy cost,
for with soul awareness lost,
ignorance results in grief,
until we turn a new leaf.
Trapped outside but free within,
silence the way to begin,
whereupon ego recedes;
we follow, pulse of love leads.
Soul’s light, hitherto concealed,
is in timeless time revealed,
within our heart, where God dwells.
Hark ye not yet, bliss beat bells?

I’ve walked a long way,
reached the edge of the extant landscape
under the gleam of the twilight sky,
I look back, see the footprints fade away far,
where the life’s terrain flashes
with the tinge of the setting sun.
I traverse the undulating memory track
along the flow of the reversed time,
search the illumined archive my life has made,
find among many lamps already extinguished,
some still flicker in the remote corner,
the glint shimmering on me that I’ve been….
A compliant son who valued the heritage,
a loving husband who shared everything he had,
a caring father who made dreams for the children,
a compassionate man who found goodness in every soul,
a pious man who configured his life divinely contented,
a devout pilgrim walking the last mile to His realm.

We had to call in the Pilgrim Sisters of Grim
Last October when the bats and owls flew in.
My dad was against it, he is totally freaked by them.
But my mother rules the roost, so she brought them in.
The vampire bats were terrified and the first to go.
Spiders replaced them, but we vacuumed them like snow.
My sisters joined the evacuation and found snakes below.
They chased them outside where they began to glow.
The owls will be the most difficult the PS of Grim told me.
They are used to their own way, and now use your house as a tree.
We will have to tantalize, pulverize them and hypnotize them you see.
Here is a photo of the last one to go. In a trance on a sister’s knee.

All Powerful Provider present in all places
Potentate presiding our prayers and praises
I'm a pilgrim privileged to be in Your presence
Panting like a deer for Your pure precepts
Profiting from Your priceless pearls of prudence
Provisioned by Your proverbial pages of Scripture
Preserved from pagan practices
Predestined to be Your progeny
Placed in Your perfect plan
Partaker of Your precious promises
Purified by Christ's pouring blood of persecution
Preferred above praiseworthy people
Performing priestly purposes
Planted in the perennial picture of paradise
Patiently preparing for Your Parousia

You hardened griefs robed in base linens red,
Whence cascade your endless prickings sore?
Each searing tear squeezed from low eye wet,
Breeds more noxious throbs that come and go.
Once when sweet relief your brutish whips
With belated solace and little mercies clips,
I mistaken think all of your wild rages gone;
Past ill turns now-free souls used to mourn.
Yet even as I dined and wined to celebrate
Abated storms wreaked by your cruel blows,
You again hurled into this glorious banquet
Your timely bile that with my merries grows.
Where beyond griefs' pain-dominated realm,
May hurting pilgrim his ill-faring vessel dock?
Where past cry's long reach and filtered gall,
Might the lamenting traveler rest and dream?
There's high haven way-worn sojourners win,
In a glorious city above sorrow's dreadful din.
