Beware People

Beware the people who clench their fists
in rage, for they are the ones who set
the stage.
Beware the people silent and thoughtful
with a hint of need, for what they need
cannot be given. Only taken.
Beware the people who smile at your
back, for that is where they plan to
attack.
Beware the people who come in need
and take with much greed.
Beware those, most of all, who smile to
your face and hide in the dark without
trace. For they are the ones that put on
the best show. The ones that bend
farther, farther, and farther still. They
are the ones that are about to break.
And when they snap they lose it all, but
they never break. They're afraid to fall.
For who would catch something bent and
splintered? Who could break through
their wall? No one. Only they can reach
themselves. Only they can say 'I want to
leave this fake smile, this dark place.'
Only they.
So beware people, they are needy and
want to be loved. They want to be seen
as a friend, not foe. But who would want
to friend someone with a wall ten stories
tall? Who can reach that high?

Familial Bonds

A fellow stranger's doubt will surely sense
Judgmental indiscretion of defect.
'Tween enemies pure hatred circumvents
The moral obligation to respect.

The various consistencies as friend,
Distill from swollen hearts this lonely ache,
With passion starts yet may abruptly end
So rarely people risk their hearts to break.

A lover's walk is not fatality,
Creating life two intimately share.
If nurtured, loved, and taught respectfully
Prosperity so gratefully will care.

Of all relations listed here above
Why is it people suffer feeling love?

Just a stone’s throw away, live the people who we’ll never know

We catch a glimpse into a life...

A house, a barn, hard working men

A vagrant walking through a field

A mother takes her child to school

Commuters on their way to work,

They look, ...a glance. We look, ...one chance

Just a stone’s throw away, live the people who we’ll never know

The Subway

Have you ever noticed all the people taking a ride?
How unique each one of us are?

All of us coming and going in life as we know
The couple coming back from a broadway show

The father trying to get home by nine
All the people standing in line

The mom trying to get the kids not to fight
The friends going to the city, to party at night

The differences in our skin
And
Our beliefs within

So much diversity there is to see
That is what the subway represents to me

Guns In Churches

This time people have gone too far.
It's something that is really bizarre.
The law is considering letting people walk in churches with guns.
If this law passes, it will be one of the stupidest things they've ever done.
I'll come right out and say it, I won't give people a hint.
When people carry guns, their chances of getting shot goes up 58 percent.
When people are in churches, what if somebody gets shot?
Some think guns in churches is a good idea but it's not.
Some say it's okay because people have the right to bear arms.
But they'll change their minds really fast if people get harmed.
If they pass this law, it may only be in Tennessee.
It's a terrible idea and the law should leave things be.
God will be very angry if people take guns in the houses of the Lord.
He's probably seeing red and his wrath is something we can't afford.

(SADLY THIS IS A TRUE STORY.)

Everyone Deserves a Chance

So many people come and go
Into your life with ebb and flow
Some stick around awhile it seems
Some live in memories and dreams

The higher standard we impose
On those we love, the friends we chose
Will meet our expectations thus
We hold them dear and close to us

It's just a shame that we don't give
A second look to those who live
Within our world and at arm's length
We think that we are showing strength

By never granting second chances
Not so much as furtive glances
We're losing out on humankind
The good in people we might find

So reach out with your other hand
Be the one who makes a stand
You might discover there is worth
In every person from their birth

Lag the Flag

Over the flag rise it
And the people think
It can be catch

Why suffer the thinking
Of people who think they can
When the flag is down forever

Just forget about it
And walk to the sun.

Life Isn'T Worth It

You’re sad and unhappy
Doesn’t mean people should also be sad and unhappy
You’re angry and want to be alone
Doesn’t mean you should fire you’re anger towards us
When people around you tend to respect and love you
You shouldn’t let this feeling leave
You should act with a little tender
Otherwise, people who trusted you
Loved you
Respected you
Would leave you as well
Life isn’t worth the problems made in it
Life isn’t about anger and revenge
It should be taken advantage from
It should never be wasted
Unless you never cherished it
Unless you never adored it
You have nothing now
But the people around you
Who try they’re best to put a smile on you’re face
But you try you’re best to put a tear on their face
Of all the things you thought about
You forgot to think about this one…

Why I Volunteer At Meals On Wheels

Why I Volunteer at Meals on Wheels

Why I volunteer at Meals on Wheels,
I do it to help people receive meals.
I had to get a photo id
This is for the people’s safety
At first I thought of it as just something to do
After that first day I realized that wasn’t true
I deliver a meal to the elderly and I do it with care
Some of the elderly may be in a wheelchair
The hot food is carried in a hot insulated bag
The cold food is carried in a cold insulated bag
It’s a good feeling to volunteer
The people appreciate that we care
I knock at the door and yell hello
I also check on them before I go
A stranger had said to me, thank you
She was thanking me for what I do
It’s a good feeling to volunteer
This is something we Americans do to show we care

One People

One people One land United together Let's take a stand Let love began to fill this place
Cling on no matter what race Give hope Give all to thee Let's love each other back to
being complete One spirit in this room Sweet aroma Let roses bloom Lifting hearts Pulling
through Let agape love come over you One people One nation Being thankful
Congratulations One over all All abiding in thee Taking the right steps to achieve One
nation under god with justice we are free Welcome one Welcome all Let's get the victory

Rubbing It In My Face

Don't you think you've done enough hurt?
Taking me for all that I'm worth?
Now you want to rub it in my face!
I'm trying hard to act as if you don't exist.
Just to let you know,
you're not even missed!
I hope you're both happy,
and life is all roses,
cause people like you,
only have turned up noses!
I'm not glad cause I got to see
how people like you,
use people like me!
I've been watching it for awhile,
should have seen it coming from a mile!
You both deserve each other,
you're both backstabbing and fake!
Thats the only thing
out of you I can make.
You're just the kind that likes to take!
Someday in hell,
you'll both bake!

The Usual Life

Life Goes On Just Like The Days Pass,
Life Is Hard & Blurred Like Stained Glass,
Anybody Can Get Through A Problem Unless They Really Want Them,
Pain & Depression Just Seems To Tag Along With Em,
Some People Cant Deal With The Pain,
Some People Take There Life Cause Of Whats Stuck In Their Brain,
Alot Of People Cant Deal With The Loss Of A Loved One,
Some Learned To Stay,
Some Wanted To Run,
Most People Understand What We People Go Through,
Some Cant Take The Blame & Blame It On You,
Alot Of People Turned To Drugs In A Desperate Time Of Need,
Some Grabbed The Knife & Cut Until They Bleed,
All I Can Say After You Read,
Is Take A Second To Look Before You Judge Some Of My Peoples Long Life Chapter Book.

I'M a Killer

After serving people drinks at my bar, they drive.
Some of my customers get drunk and thanks to me, there are people who are no longer
alive.
Those customers have killed innocent people while driving intoxicated.
Owning this bar is something that I sure as hell have never celebrated.
I've tried to live with this pain and guilt but I can't do it anymore.
After ten years of being in business, I'm going to close my doors.

(I THANK GOD THAT THIS IS A FICTIONAL POEM. I DO NOT OWN A BAR.)

Scotch and Soda

From behind the bar I recall what led me here.
Not to see people fight over spots on a board.
But to bring them togather as friends.
Not drive them apart as enimies.

To see the glass stay full.
And the spirts to bring cheer.
Jokes hold truth.
As the jester I know pain.

Smells of perfume and smoke beautiful eye's
and that invisable desire.
We dance in hope of capturing life.

To embrace in darkness.
The page can never capture the passion
of two lovers spark.

From behind the bar I see life
for more than what others belive it is.
Jokes comfort as the flirt kisses the ego.

Napkins written with numbers passed encounters
promised.
Some never to know the light of day.

Hungover friends gather whiskey laced
plessures with a tinge of regret.
But life is one play my friends that no
single act shall we froget.

The drink sit's neat apon the bar.
You can see blindley for years.
And never know who people truley are.

Drinks as people dont last long.
They gleam the same under neon light.
So friends always mix them strong.

Wonder Why

Father, why do people die?
Many reasons
Like what?
Ask the killer, and if he has no form, it was natural
Father, why do people kill?
Many reasons
Like what
My son, many things can be used to answer many questions
Like what?
Me.
