Pas de deux of hearts;
Reaching for her hand
he bows with such grace;
An enthralled smile asks
‘May I have this dance?’
Dressed to mingle,
to twist and shout;
Balanced breathing,
a profound pulse;
Heat rises
with a touch
on her back,
Just one
finger
slides.
In the delightful dancing
turns the gentleman in wiggles
making the lady slides
at the ball
magnificent
pas de deux!
ensemble !
Stomped by intruding and invasive breed,
Foul footprint of this year is a misdeed -
Two weighty boots with heavy tread
Stirred quite a lot of dirt and dread.
COVID and DONALD just will not concede!

When you get to my old age of eighty-two
You and your doctor, dance a pas de deux
An entrée, an adagio
Dance like two buffaloes
Quite a pretty sight, worth a spleen or two
My smile is just for you
although you are so far away
your feet tiptoe around
a shadow
a phantom
your fragrance
temptation
seduction
Once was a day where we were
warm and soft
in morning breeze
I pirouette to you
This corner
two sides protect my back
but i'm so vulnerable
in how i miss you
how my nights are poor
my days are lacking
my aching frame
Every day one small step
makes a waltz
orchestrated
a day where it
doesn't matter
that legs are ethereal

Two dancers in sync
We were made for each other
But you're sick with the drink
Twisting and turning
Our steps I do trace
I am locked here alone
In this stoic embrace.

~Pas de Deux~
There are those
Whose thoughts and words
Throw open the shuttered windows
Of our minds,
Illuminating the dormant corners of
Hazy complacency and stagnant dustlight
With sunlit ideas,
Concepts free flowing and abundant,
Dancing and floating
Brightly through the narrow
Slit of ordinary vision in
A cerebral Pas de Deux
A mental tour en l''air
That grows our consciousness and
Nourishes our souls.
They are the precious. . .
They are the few . . .
All our Love's vicissitudes,
Our amorous, glamorous attitudes
Two Hearts pounding, the grand resounding
With sincerest gratitude
In Perfect Passion, ardor action,
Paramours enraptured fashion
To you devoted, the walls have folded
I lose myself in your attraction...
Everything I have given you,
My Heart, my Soul, my Pas de Deux
Together forever, this sweet endeavor,
Until at last we say adieu
Pas De Deux
by Rick Rucker
When you came unto the floor,
I knew you were so much more,
Than I thought I'd ever meet,
A lovely face, and oh so sweet!
Love's tender ballad began to play,
Soon, I was swept away!
We were moving ever near,
Around the other, we each did steer.
When finally, we did embrace,
My eyes did close, my Heart did race!
As I held you, 'round the waist,
All about the dance floor, we both traced.
That we are a couple new,
Nothing 'bout that can I do.
In time, we will learn each other's moves,
We'll soon be in each other's grooves.
It took a while to see,
The dance floor held but you, and me.
Now our scores: a perfect ten!
The music has begun again.......
