Parsnip Poems

Vegetable Matter

If a conflicted carrot
based on its looks
could feel it's a parsnip
it would be a turnip for the books
and should confused chard
on corn do a number
lettuce hope the offspring
isn't a baby cucumber
some plants are quite confounded
in my garden bed
sadly the rhubarb is convinced
it's celery badly sun-burned red

Skip

Skip

Small skip, big skip,
mid skip
for a Yolosnip.

Skip in the Frumpket sun.
Skip in the Frumpket rain.
Small skip, big skip, mid skip fun.

Skip, skip, skip.
Slip, slip, slip.

Forward skip, back skip.
Sideways skip.

Skip, skip, skip.
Slip, slip, slip.

A skip
isn’t really a skip
without a slip.

Skip
into a bathtub of cheese dip.
Or skip
onto a parsnip.

Skip onto a fingertip.
Or skip
up onto a small ship.

On a grass strip
and on the porch lip
a skip
isn’t really a skip
without a slip.

Skip, skip, skip.
Slip, slip, slip.

Skip like a Frumpket dog.
Skip like a Frumpket frog.
Skip like a Frumpket hog.
Skip like a Frumpket hedgehog.

Skip, skip, skip, skip.
Slip, slip, slip, slip.

A skip
isn’t really a skip
without a slip.

Through a hoop skipping.
Through fog skipping.
Be good at skipping
or be not good at skipping.
Or be the best at skipping.

Good, not good, at skipping
or best at skipping ...
It doesn’t matter! You WILL slip!
You will still slip!

Small skip, big skip, mid skip.
Skip. Skip. Skip.

A skip
isn’t really a skip
without a slip!

A Wave of Reverence

You are a warm cup of coffee
on a cold winter day.
Darkness, an abyss, the repudiated banned;
I'd rather suffocate in your shadows
than paddle in someone else's light.

You are a misinterpreted parsnip,
and I, the farmer in the fall.
Utopia in your eyes,
my pulsing heart bears your dawn,
and your name is ingrained in my mind.

My vigour of love nor the reasons metamorphose;
Our souls are entangled,
burgeoning the yarn loved by a cat.
Love is a disease; I am the patient
lingering for it eagerly.

I treasure you against all logic,
against all the sin in the world.
I can only solve the enigma with you.
When we are apart, I miss you
like the stars miss the sun at night.

There is a prodigious world seen in your eyes.
I am jealous of the mirror that sees you daily,
envious of the cozy blanket that envelops you.
Men squabble and crucify; even if I forfeit,
I will be the phoenix rising from the ashes for you.

Poetry Soup - Such a Great Recipe From All of You

It’s very cold outside but not in here
Where I am relaxing and sipping beer
Reading all the latest poems
That everyone else has been composing

They really warm up my toes
As well as my big red nose

Just don’t stop what you are doing
As this new recipe from you and who
Means that I might just add a parsnip or two

For my own Best Winter Soup
But don’t let that ever stop you
To refine your own recipe too

Because there is so much talent and friendship here

I wish you all a Happy New Year

Tahoe Ii

Glistening in the sun so vivid and blue
Mirroring the azure heavens hue;
Enchanting as tourmalines worn by few,
Fewer believe this paradise is true.
Yarrow and parsnip came and grew,
Coloring mountains as spring debuted.
Adding to the lovely enchanting view.
Such majestic beauty must be untrue!

Vegie-Revenge

while walking down the grocery isle
I heard a parsnip
scream out help
I thought
oh no
I need help
is this the end
I should call a friend
then the parsnip did it again
help
help me
down under the parsnip bin
the door was jammed
all I could see was a clerk’s hand
set me free
he said to me
I was relieved but he was
still shaking as I helped him up
he reached into the parsnip bin and
grabbed a huge parsnip
ran over to a blender
popped it in and
as it was chopped into bits
smiled wide-eyed and said
that is the last time that Parsnip is going to do that
to me

Boom and Bang

Can a moon fit in a ladle? No. Can a white ball explode a street? Yes. It is the will of the entwined serpent symbol to eradicate lives in a global swoop. Much planning. Quarterisation of countries. Count 1:2 3 4 5 then move. Octagonal month. Smash. No not good. Gaming garnets gathering guns grabbing. Gibbering. And a dissatisfied cloud. Very upset. Wailing ashes through tears. A torso ripped like an unwanted bill or letter. And that parsnip in an ornately dressed suit. Triple a multitude and multiply by 6000. Crest created. Derogatory. No haha. Definitely not. Definition is simply nit derived from statutory provisions. No xxxxx for flesh erosions. Z to it. Multidimensional 9% of a global glove.

Rubble In Suitcases

A rubble in a suitcase can be crushed by the might of ten elephants, sixteen rhino, and ladybird in a purple hat. But never a beetle or a silver snake with googly eyes. The monstrous bellowing can alter the voluminous stripes of even the most simplest of pattern. It is to be derived from a digging motion not built up in brick. The solemn manner of a teaspoon arriving in a bow tie and silky underwear. Packed pecked packing pleasing pleasantly. And the fat parsnip parking a car. Luxurious place. Parchments dancing look. Twelve of them. Grab a milk clay coat and whirl to the aroma of the 909 moons. Cup then. No frog. No slug. No biscuit. No lemon. No fox. And no haha either. Fantastic. Xxxx heraldic crest. Xxxx eradication of sloth balls. *** columnisation z

Mongrel Mongeese

Mongrel mongeese can fly at very high altitudes but dome headed calves cannot as they must wait until they are 672 years old. Fly fly flight then. Oh great. See how the waving whales chanting circulating wisdom in a foam. And bathing basking. The hypothesis of a 5minute triangle is a good idea for a specific dialect to be spoken. The noises of a parsnip parsonage swell. Ingest not a seabird sandwich. Opening in a cave a smugglers' house. Housekeeping in a coven. Hahahaha dripped fondling fig figurehead fantastic fakery. Hahahaha and a mealworm singing opera to a friend of a prawn cocktail. Weary wearing weather. Washing. Xxxx gastronomically z z c y g z

Vegetables

A huddle of potatoes on a plate

Called to the beans, “You're late, you're late.”

As all the peas hopped round about.

While a lonely carrot waltzed a sprout,

Then the beans came one by one,

Eager to frolic and join the fun.

A baritone artichoke sang a song

As a lively aubergine danced along.

Until a parsnip and a swede

Gave the call, “It’s time to feed”.

Then a fork and a spoon

      Slowly came into the room.

      A giant cavern opened wide

And all the vegetables danced inside.

Thanksgiving

Talk turkey; talk turkey
It's Thanksgiving day.
Fill up your mouths
the Thanksgiving way.

Gobble down; gobble down
meat and red berries.
Some adding gravy
for flavour that varies.

White mashed potatoes
hollowed in boats.
Filled with yellow butter
that warms 'till it floats.

Turnip and parsnip
mixed in together.
Tangy mild flavour
that lasts forever.

Green tiny peas
piled on the side;
covered in butter
in tears they have cried.

All for the price of a prayer
to say thanks
and gathering our friends
in a place that is nice.

Happy Thanksgiving!
