The two were silent in a chamber still,
With naught to grasp, no aching, outstretched hand,
No turn of phrase to woo, or charm, or thrill,
And no wise quips to make them understand.

With naught to grasp, no aching, outstretched hand,
One to the other looked, with tender eyes
And no wise quips to make them understand,
They could not harbor sense to realize.

One to the other looked with tender eyes,
An empty space between them, they were spent;
They could not harbor sense to realize
Their love was not yet broken, only bent.

An empty space between them, they were spent;
“Must it be this way?” the silence broke.
Their love was not yet broken, only bent,
though they were both undone, from words they spoke.

“Must it be this way?” the silence broke.
No turn of phrase to woo, or charm, or thrill,
though they were both undone from words they spoke,
the two were silent in a chamber still.

Premium MemberMy Foolish Heart

My foolish heart believed your lies;
you took advantage of my trust.
Seducing me with flattery;
your silver tongue twisted the truth.

You took advantage of my trust,
wooing my heart with promises.
Your silver tongue twisted the truth;
love was merely a game to you.

Wooing my heart with promises;
hope led me down a rabbit hole.
Love was merely a game to you;
feelings never came into play.

Hope led me down a rabbit hole;
trust tricked me into loving you.
Feelings never came into play;
each step choreographed by lust.

Trust tricked me into loving you,
seducing me with flattery.
Each step, choreographed by lust;
my foolish heart believed your lies.

Black and White Reflections

Black and White Reflections

Old black and white pictures are faded and worn
the pain they portray is there in her eyes.
Innocence doomed from the time she was born,
no tears for a childhood she lost in the night.

The pain they portray is there in her eyes,
no smiles for this stranger, no secrets revealed.
No tears for a childhood she lost in the night,
the terror is present, but her lips are sealed.

No smiles for this stranger, no secrets revealed,
she looks at the camera and waits for the light.
The terror is present, but her lips are sealed
she must never tell of the hideous night.

She looks at the camera and waits for the light,
not trusting this stranger who stares at her eyes
she must never tell of the hideous night,
the promise of love conceals many lies.

Not trusting this stranger who stares at her eyes
she hurries away when the stranger is done.
The promise of love conceals many lies,
forever she's cursed to invent alibis.

The promise of love conceals many lies,
Old black and white pictures are faded and worn
Innocence doomed from the time she was born,
forever she's cursed to invent alibis…

Premium MemberStillness

She glides out of the room on tiptoe,
As graceful as a sinuous ballet,
Sliding past sad memories that flow,
Staring, scowling eyes upon her still prey.

As graceful as a sinuous ballet,
Stealthily steadfast, slipping slowly,
Staring, scowling eyes upon her still prey,
She’s ready to strike bloodthirstily.

Stealthily steadfast, slipping slowly,
Marked double-crossing husband might have guessed,
She’s ready to strike bloodthirstily,
As he unwittingly lies down to rest.

Marked double-crossing husband might have guessed,
Slithering snakelike, it’s his scornful wife,
As he unwittingly lies down to rest,
She swoops in silently with sharpened knife.

Like a surgeon’s slash it’s very precise,
Sliding past sad memories that flow,
With bloodied knife in hand, it’s once, twice, thrice,
She glides out of the room on tiptoe.

quavering soul eclipse to blame
with smoldering fire's charring croon
they dared to play with such a flame
desoul the spiritlessness moon

with smoldering fire's charring croon
they came away so scorched in gloom
desoul the spiritlessness moon
tomb in fire that ashes consume

they came away so scorched in gloom
devouring embers stole the pain
tomb in fire that ashes consume
left with no apathy again

devouring embers stole the pain
they dared to play with such a flame
left with no apathy again
quavering soul eclipse to blame

Trust No One

Dark night when trust is being painted and betrayed,
When young men behaved like apes on the loose,
Deflowered by six-man gang on rampage,
Trusted and confidant pal turned to ape this day,

When young men behaved like apes on the loose,
She was lured into a trap by a known friend,
Trusted and confidant pal turned to ape this day,
Mistrust! justice must be done as she's ready to kill.

She was lured into a trap by a known friend,
Deflowered by six-man gang on rampage,
Mistrust! justice must be done as she's ready to kill,
Dark night when trust is being painted and betrayed.

Why I Hate October

The month of October, the year was 2016, the month that almost ended me
My mind had shattered, the sparkling pieces so pretty in the autumn light
October, the year is 2019, this month just might finish what was started
So close, why didn't I jump, maybe this last hurtle is just way to high

My mind had shattered, the sparkling pieces so pretty in the autumn light
I have no fight left in me, heart is broken, no mind no heart, who am I
So close, why didn't I jump, maybe this last hurtle is just way to high I know I will be held accountable, even though the sins are not mine

I have no fight left in me, heart is broken, no mind no heart, who am I
October, the year is 2019, this month just might finish what was started
I know I will be held accountable, even though the sins are not mine
The month of October, the year was 2016, the month that almost ended me

Her Attitude

The way she spoke elegant indeed,
Spears of truth too hard to believe,
Then words of hers won't be melting,
Too blinded I was to see.

Spears of truth too hard to believe,
Her teeth bright like my heart's star,
Too blinded I was to see,
Fake sympathy she was covered in.

Her teeth bright like my heart's star,
If only I knew my heart had no star,
Fake sympathy she was covered in,
I would have learnt to walk alone,

If only I knew my heart had no star,
Then words of hers won't be melting,
I would have learnt to walk alone,
The way she spoke elegant indeed.

Premium MemberA Helpless Predator In a Bar

His eyes stealthily sweep the room
For women uncrowded by men or age.
To temptations he’s secretly doomed,
His desire rattles the bars of a cage.

For women uncrowded by men or age
He yearns in rapture-colored dreams.
His desire rattles the bars of a cage,
In him a mourner of lost youth screams.

He yearns in rapture-colored dreams,
Numbed by the routine of domestic bliss.
In him a mourner of lost youth screams,
His ears ringing with time’s taunting hiss.

Numbed by the routine of domestic bliss,
To temptations he’s secretly doomed.
His ears ringing with time’s taunting hiss,
His eyes stealthily sweep the room.

Broken Heart

When things in life don't go your way
When your life now seems so unfair
Perhaps you've had someone betray
A life you gave that you laid bare

When your life now seems so unfair
Because of all of you're going through
A life you gave that you laid bare
To someone who once said "I do"

Because of all you're going through
Makes you wonder why it went so wrong
To someone who once said "I do"
Is someone you want to tell so long

Makes you wonder why it went so wrong
Now with God's help He'll see you through
Is someone you want to tell so long
Because you want that love so true

Now with God's help He'll see you through
So put your trust in Him don't fear
Because you want that love so true
Now makes you stop and dry that tear

So put your trust in Him don't fear
As you fight for what you treasure
Now makes you stop and dry that tear
Because this love you cannot measure

As you fight for what you treasure
Perhaps you've had someone betray
Because this love you cannot measure
When things in life don't go your way

Children Are Seen

Children are seen
Not heard.
Mother was our go between.
How absurd.
Not a word
To me this was extreme
Especially since adults were always in
A herd.
They reigned supreme.
To argue was to blaspheme.
This was real
No matter how dumb it would seem
To adults this was ideal.

Premium MemberThe Nature of the Beast

My overcast mood broods. In a mental melee
across my mind’s skies, as far as the eyes can see,
maddened crowds of electrically charged thought-clouds prey
seized negative space surrounding the heart of me.

Across my mind’s skies as far as the eyes can see
brain-storms rise in cumulonimbus angst, roaming
seized negative space surrounding the heart of me
with flashing lightning jags. I seethe in my gloaming.

Brain-storms rise in cumulonimbus angst - roaming.
Blowing the chastised chasms of my blackened mind
with flashing lightning jags - I seethe in my gloaming
under dark emotions thundering and squall-lined.

Blowing the chastised chasms of my blackened mind,
‘I-should-have-known-better’ flared-up winds are fuming
under dark emotions thundering and squall-lined
seeking to shred your justifications looming.

I should have known better! Flared-up winds are fuming...
Maddened crowds of electrically charged thought-clouds prey
seeking to shred your justifications. Looming,
my overcast mood broods in a mental melee.

Premium MemberThe Underground Wall--- a Simon and Garfunkel Tribute

I wrote a poem on the underground wall
for Emily, whenever I may find her.
Her lips are bouncy like a red rubber ball;
you can tell the world so they'll remind her.

For Emily, whenever I may find her,
Punky's dilemma has now come to an end.
I'm Richard Cory and let me remind her;
he was my brother, and I was his dear friend.

Punky's dilemma has now come to an end.
The French twist on Bleecker Street is fighting mad.
He was my brother, and I was his dear friend.
I'll hide somewhere they can't find me, writing pad.

Her lips are bouncy like a red rubber ball.
I'll hide somewhere they can't find me, writing pad.

My Good Friend, Jack

My Good Friend, Jack

I met a guy named Jack
he said he was a friend
but now my head is in this sack
and my time is growing thin

He said he was a friend
But Jack is in the mob
and my time is growing thin
because I'm part of Jack's new job

But Jack is in the mob
He's paid to wield a gun
because I'm part of Jack's new job
my time will soon be done

He's paid to wield a gun
his aim is fast and true
my time will soon be done
When Jack's new job is through

his aim is fast and true
of this I cannot lie
When Jack's new job is through
I'd really hate to die

of this I cannot lie
but now my head is in this sack
I'd really hate to die
I met a guy named Jack

Premium MemberMemory of Your Betrayal

Those lying eyes, yes I knew them so well
I found out you’d had another affair
Your deception made life a living hell
On your jacket I’d found her long blonde hair

I found out you’d had another affair
Our wedding vows, they meant nothing to you
On your jacket I’d found her long blonde hair
No more chances, because this time we’re through

Our wedding vows, they meant nothing to you
I bid adieu to your cold cheating heart
No more chances, because this time we’re through
I’ve packed my bags, as I need a fresh start

I bid adieu to your cold cheating heart
Your deception made life a living hell
I’ve packed my bags, as I need a fresh start
Those lying eyes, yes I knew them so well
