My Foolish Heart

My foolish heart believed your lies;
you took advantage of my trust.
Seducing me with flattery;
your silver tongue twisted the truth.

wooing my heart with promises.
Your silver tongue twisted the truth;
love was merely a game to you.

Wooing my heart with promises;
hope led me down a rabbit hole.
Love was merely a game to you;
feelings never came into play.

Hope led me down a rabbit hole;
trust tricked me into loving you.
Feelings never came into play;
each step choreographed by lust.

Trust tricked me into loving you, 
seducing me with flattery.
Each step, choreographed by lust;
my foolish heart believed your lies.
