There yonder lay the seemly miniature town.
My mind had first to offload its anticipations,
the mental pictures I had long labored
in vain to piece together.
The image had always been incomplete
without the first sight.
Now there was another burden to bear:
the opposing forms of affection
that demanded reconciliation.
I wrestled with solidity and vagueness,
and together they shaped the culture.
I stood there like a pedestal,
motionless.
The compass had missed its pole,
demanding an overhaul.
I had to assemble the scattered events
of childhood and manhood.
Yet I suppose childhood
claimed the day for itself.
New Year Change
Kevin Davis, 2025)
Each year we promise to overhaul life,
Become better humans, improved and refined.
We’ll drop a few pounds, quit smoking—or try—
Join a gym we’ll attend while the mood’s still high.
We buy shiny planners we’ll never complete,
Sneakers engineered to remind us of guilt.
We meal-prep salads, determined and brave—
Then reward our commitment with fries on a plate.
By mid-January (give or take a day),
Our willpower fades and the couch has its say:
“You’re perfect already—why struggle or strive?
Sit down. Relax. Let’s binge Season Five.”
So this new year, when drafting resolutions,
Remember: real change ignores quick solutions.
To alter your habits, begin with your mind—
And stop trusting fitness apps… especially mine.
Be kind!
I was thinking , just the other day,
about all the stupid things we say.
How someone, with no thought at all,
can send you into overhaul.
Why not think before we speak?
wish each other a good week?
If only hurt feelings could be seen,
would it make the world less mean?
She said this, he said that
why bother with tit for tat?
Judge not us,lets be kind,
Don't let evil on your mind.
Lets work on ourselves everyday,
To make our bad bits go away!
If we could remember we're all worth the same
Imagine what the world could gain.
We worry about whats on the outside,
We're never really satisfied.
The way you dress,or what you weigh,
wont make loneliness go away.
some people have no love at all,
already feel really small.
To kill them with kindness I'll try to do,
Pass on my smile, how about you?
God the Father alone has the power to invert situations.
Revert conditions and overhaul circumstances in your life
God’s power can cause things to explode
God’s power can rearrange things
God’s power can flatten things
God’s power can restructure things
God’s power can lift things and produce things
God’s power can show up
God the Father can go beyond our current circumstances
Jesus, the Spoken Word can enhance your capacity
Therefore, connect your current reality with God’s present ability
Mark Frank
We don't see eye to eye,
Even when we're cheek to cheek.
I can't keep up with you it seems;
I don't know what it is you seek.
The values that you motivate,
Give you an intriguing mystique.
But your compassion needs an overhaul
Please pardon the critique.
You hide maliciously behind your charm,
Toying with the meek.
Barking orders, playing God;
Like Satan, so to speak.
The innocent demeanor you display,
Can't suppress your control freak.
Because when it comes to calculated coldness,
I'm sorry Sir, You reek!
So if you value this relationship;
Listen to the words I speak.
Be more attentive, tell the truth,
Then work on your technique!
Quiet, restful Summer took us venturing
the season that matured from early Spring.
But now it's facing change, adventuring
to the stage that bends to Autumn's call.
Blissfully canceling direction, enters Fall
to soon create new glories all its own,
as Summer's pastel colors overhaul
to golden, burnished hues new days will bring.
Air becoming cooler, daylight even fades
as the sun sets earlier each day.
Landscapes turn to ash till each pervades
bright Autumn leaves that fall from every tree.
Left meandering near open places, quilts
of colored leaves grace the withered lawns;
while naked tree trunks stand like waiting stilts-
to sleep in Winter and awake next Spring.
Drag along the prophet?
Oracle, break the grip.
Tools of iron and Tophet!
Let the heavens rip!
Flippered horrors on the crawl?
Subterranean tour.
High hells? Hand in overhaul.
Liquid has its lure.
Dour the towers in late spring?
Rim of crater wide.
Drench the world, O undying!
Ocean, loose thy tide!
Grim the gambrel gangrel?
Volcano, downward run.
Belladonna, bell and spell!
Young and yellow dun.
Coals a-glow, infernal life?
Dance upon my knife!
Demon-sultan, play thy fife.
Rampant round and rife...
Strife, goals. Remotest controls?
Lost as ancient souls.
Broken, are ye, golden bowls?
Doldrums, dole and tolls.
Holes producing matter?
Apogee, twist with pain...
Night upon the latter?
Floodwater, course from main...
Everything i'm not made me everything I am,
Without imperfection, without flaws, all is perfection.
However perfection leaves no reason for strive,
And without the urge to change, the world would stand still, no transition, no drive
People would never reach for more, believing they have it all.
only Once imperfection enters does improvement begin to call,
While Sounding counter intuitive, consider the true downfall,
Comfort breeds stagnation, discomfort sparks an overhaul,
Faced with flaws, one begins to think, to question, to solve, to push past the brink.
Without these minor troubles tugging at convenience,
How many minds would awaken with brilliance?
If not for that wonder, that itch to grow,
Many, including myself, would never know
The drive to rise, the hunger to transcend.
For wonder fuels dreams, and flaws are where they begin.
Everything I'm not made me everything I am
I took a visit inside my brain today
To check what was happening
It has been a little sluggish of late
Like a cloudy day not a clear day in spring!
It was dim on entering
So l turned on my lamp
It was really quite foggy
Felt a little damp
The memory section caught my eye
As there were countless empty spots
A bundle of wires nearby
All tied up in knots
The vision section was labelled
Though extremely hard to see
From a distance
I think it read:
h E L p M e
The emotional section was out of control
Eratic movements up and down
Huge highs , deep lows
Overstressed and unwound
My brain it seems is in great need
Of an overhaul and mending
Overwhelmed , l swiftly exited my brain
Service and repairs left pending
As night falls, a dark melody
fills the air with a feeling so deep
it is the song of a dark rose
tweeting near a corner fence.
Dahlia, a withered pale woman
lies on a granite slab, still and serene
The song transforms the air, calm
infuse her chill cells, pungent.
Cells overhaul false refluxes
taint her veins with lethal hues
rose rummages the window
like a creeper it probes in disguise.
A noise of a phantom stirs in the void
The deadbeat song reaches its peak
undermining her heart waves
the roaming restless phantom roars.
"Who is the next cadaver to join me?''
then dark rose turns from grey to white
the source of the call slowly deranges
with the rise of a promising dawn.
The sunrays pack her vitals with life
a dark rose is reborn, its music unheard
may *Prana saves helpless cadavers once again
a wish for a dark song seems wanted.
*Prana, a Sanskrit word meaning breath, a life-giving force.
A postscript read:
Potholes overhaul
Find a detour.
Is it just me or do all old guys drool
At the sight of every young chickie
Could it be I'm a perverted old geezer
Or normal but no longer picky
Once thought I was quite sophisticated
With very discerning tastes and all
But the older I get, the less picky I am
Probably need a complete overhaul
Don't go calling me a nasty old pervert
Females were meant to be admired
I'm sure they're totally aware of this fact
By some of their provocative attire
Sure not complaining, trust me on this
Wouldn't have it any other way
Just to ogle these beauties walking by
Brightens up the dullest of days
Not a pervert, just a healthy old male
Enjoying the finer things in life
The female form in all it's perfection
Counteracts all of life's strife

Listen!
Hey,
Jamie,
You got to understand,
Rob was so devastated,
Hmmm!
Right on,
See this is the situation,
My old lady,
I'm not doing this!
Reise, Reich, Renae
Is anyone still quick on your toes?
How many days in repeat?
All sound is contained in my auditory canal.
Where is yours?
Frontal lobe overhaul equals Mental Illness.
Oh and gun control to the max!

*No direction for this. I'm going to attempt a one shot off the top and see what happens... It's worked before.*
I get this question a lot
I'm a dyslexic introvert with Asperger's
More clutter than not
My mind has so many things
It's hard to sort it out
I start on one subject
But it's always roundabout
Fifteen subjects later
I remember how to end the first thought
Most people have already walked away
Their patience completely shot
My tone is loud and direct
Most people call me an a**hole
I mean no disrespect
It's hard to correct something when you don't know what you're doing
My wife calls me dense and stupid sometimes
Leaves my confidence utterly ruined
If there was a way to declutter
I'd do it without a second thought
But then I wouldn't know anything
And my creativity would just stop
*This needs a major overhaul to become something decent to read. But I churned it out in less than 10 minutes.*
Magic touches us all
In tiny ways and big- such wonder is Spring's
Overhaul.
From Winter's sleep
Trees awake from dormant downswings;
Buds peep.
Limbs trance;
new blossom wings
dance.
Magic touches us all.
Trees awake from dormant downswings;
dance.
