Dream On

'Follow your dream'
easier said than done
as the girl of my dreams
for me she is the only one
and yet for her I don't exist
she sees through me sad to say
don't have what (it) takes her fancy
won't even look my way
as ships which pass in the night
our two hearts will never meet
I find mine's a dead-end dream
on the wrong side of a one-way street

A ONE-WAY TICKET

I saw a one way ticket
A trolley full of lauggage
Checking in an apartment, not a hotel
This visitor is here to stay

I saw a sale agreement
Not a stay receipt
I saw a full smile
Not a half-wit grin

Embraced with both hands
A bed in well made
I see no plan for departure
This visitor looks quite settled

AI is here to stay
AI is here for good
To live side by side with our knowledge
Always willing to help.

Premium MemberMother’s One-Way Ticket

Our sweet mother went to heaven one Spring day.
Four years ago, the flowers folded their wings.
Hymns, ethereal in the fog; smile at bay.
Left at table, in closet, on shelves - her things.
Most dearly departed, her ticket one-way.
And my father cheers her urn each day.
She’s in our hearts, our thoughts are off and flying.
This family is strong; I am not crying.

ONE WAY TICKET

ONE WAY TICKET

Am I really swimming in grief
And no prospect of any relief
And this situation belies belief
It wasn’t so bad in recent days
But how such shifts can amaze
Tell me if it’s sunlight up there

But then, I always had assumed
Any such attempt was doomed
As buried riches rarely exhumed
Was I just following some craze
With a whole shipwreck to raise
I’ll shrug and say C’est la guerre

For this deep dive I was groomed
Despite knowing a storm loomed
As by greed, we were consumed
I was sent to where danger plays
Regret at how my pride displays
But was more than truth or dare

I kick arms and legs to no avail
My oxygen supply will soon fail
With no-one left to tell the tale
As down in these depths it stays
It’s a great loss in so many ways
A treasure so valuable and rare

Survival is now a pointless task
Resigned, I’ll remove my mask
Quick and painless is all I’ll ask
Never again to see a sun’s rays
My blurred vision is just a haze
As of another world I’m aware

Premium MemberOne way streets

Those one way streets, that lead to dead ends
The giving and sacrifice on a way road
The words of help echo from ears that don't listen
Then a rough road turns in one's own life, nothing is there
Where are they? Understanding diminishes in the fog
What one can see, another may not and it is dark
The worry for those who don't worry about themselves
The brick wall of denial, that cannot be broken down
All that wears on the soul, as tiredness creeps in
There must be boundaries and the signs of teamwork,
leading to unity, and peace on two way streets
Caring can be accomplished in a special silence,
with conversation at a different kind of speed
There is only so much care in one's being to release,
before their self becomes completely ignored
Life is a process of learning, building a safe house board by board

One way or another

One way or another
it was going to be hard
life was going to travel
on my back
the price wasn't going cheap
no matter the path
one way or another
it was going to be hard.

They say they’re on board, there’s no fuss
They just let the old man loudly cuss
Think no one will notice
It’s only the POTUS
Thrown under a big yellow bus

Premium MemberLife is one way

                                     Wisdom dawned, but late
                                         Life is on the verge
                                     Peeping through the past
                                   Omissions and errors galore
                                          Stare in the face
                                         No second chance
                                    The pride, ego and craze
                                      All leave with no trace
                                       Life passed in futility
                                    Living in illusion of hope
Wasting all in fantasy of gain
If at all, I could get one more chance
                                               But, No!
Life is a one way travel

Premium MemberONE WAY TO LIVE FOREVER

This blessing is a question
Just a thought I'm throwing out….
It is actually less a blessing
than something to think about…

Although it is inevitable…
for death we cannot defy…
If we remain in the hearts of those we leave behind
do we ever really die?

 Think,
Evolve
when walking,
take the right way,
You have the chance once,
one way ticket,
buy the best

One way to solve E-Waste Problem

I wonder if it is true,
That we produce more E-waste than food for you and me.

If I had a magic wand on me,
I would turn my electronics waste into food for more than just me.

As I do not possess one,
My best hope is to find someone,
To invent the technology,
That is not too stodgy,
Won't ruin my teeth,
And is generally good for my health.

Until that happens,
I will keep using my brains,
Instead of buying yet another calculator,
And food from my Garden I will continue to share with those, next door,
Who sold out to the developer,
Who promised them a life filled with technology that is better,
And bigger than anything they had before,
Neglecting to tell them they would soon become food poor.

Premium MemberThe Unsupervised Stop Sign

Who says stop? Road signs, yes. But those who don’t like what is happening. The abused, the neglected, the rejected. Often ladies who don’t want to be fondled by the men they’ve accepted as dates or trysts. There are those that say stop when the drink is being filled and others who express their prohibitive word – STOP – when they’ve finally heard all the bellowing they can take for one round between them and a spouse, a sibling or a child. Stop can mean that a road, whether paved, dirt or vindictive, has finally come to an end and this is where the rubber meets the pavement, where the dog-eared finish meets the truth, where the lifetime meets with its fate and even, possibly, when the heart meets its beat and together, two are merged as another sign, pointing one way. STOP means wait, forget it, pause for just a bit. But, mostly STOP means to bar the way so that no one can say you came to a rolling stop because you know, without a doubt, you absolutely stopped before continuing on your way, discovering the direction of your destiny, your fate.

Just a sign to stop
Unsupervised it is not
Sojourn from the start
